12/08/2026: Stopped here with my young daughters on a tour of Gaeltacht and asked if we could speak as gaeilge, the lovely staff switched immediately and patiently did our whole 2 hours there in Irish. Such a great experience, honestly the highlight if our trip - AND the sandwiches were amazing. I got the hawaiin melt, so so good. Thank you, we will be back in future.

27/07/2026: "The System is We like Over Price"!!! Bad value for money! Stealing from customers by over pricing and over charging customer's! Be careful what you order here! Their "System" is to over Charge you when you order a Irish Breakfast. I ordered a Irish Breakfast and asked what was in it before paying. My friend I was with ordered a Irish Breakfast and pointed out to me that the only thing different was a tomato that I got and he didn't. Then checking the receipt I realized I was over charged for a Full Breakfast which I didn't ask for anything extra or ask for any Full Breakfast just a Irish Breakfast and was over charged! I didn't say anything at the time of paying because I just thought it was inflation getting out of hand every day thing's is going up. But to my surprise this Cafe is Boosting Prices for what you order! When I complained the manager slipped up and admitted that their "System is to Over Price" is when You order a Irish Breakfast that they Charge You for a Full Irish Breakfast. Be careful!!! Ripoff Ireland is Back!

22/06/2026: Biggest problem is that I had room 32 and on Saturday night there was a party in the hotel with a live drummer. ( later mentioned this is almost every week! ) I woke up from the noise at 11 pm and in only stopped just after 12 pm. It was terrible. I already had closed all the windows and blinds, but it was still really loud. The next morning, I complained about this and the nice lady made several remarks. • I paid over 250 euro per room ( book also one for my sun but he was at street sight - so no problem) • The lady said that this was way too high and the this was because Booking takes so much money from this. Should have been 190 euro max. This is not nice to hear. • She apologies for the noise and ask why I did come down so they could fix something. I said that to dress up and come down was not the solution. As they would not have stopped the party for me. In mine opinion they should have warned me in advance or gave me a different room or not rent out this room when there is a party like this.

08/06/2026: Everything was great except, for the price of the room, we expected a bottle of water in the room.

07/10/2026: If you're Taiwanese, you might want to skip this place 🤣 The fried food was still very oily, and completely unseasoned; you have to add salt yourself or buy dipping sauce separately. I ordered the seafood box, and the only decent thing was the shrimp.

05/10/2026: Food was great. Obviously theres no seating as this is just a counter in a garage shop. Waiting for food is a bit awkward as theres no waiting space; you're just in amongst the shelves trying not to be in anyone's way. Staff were not particularly warm and friendly, but then it was 7.30pm on a dark rainy Sunday. Overall a good place if you just need some quick food to eat in your car.

17/09/2026: Food was good but awkward queueing area but you can tell the staff already know this but are doing there best. Staff are very friendly and with food been done in front of customer it adds pressure to get things right. This shows in the results as was tastey food in every way. Well done staff.

19/10/2026: Very Nice Place, all cooked to order, they messed up my Burger, gave me a plain one, nothing on it, instead of one with sauce onions and lettuce. Maybe a glitch but 7 euro for it. Make sure you check before you eat.

16/09/2026: This is a great place to stop near Kilmainham Gaol. The fish & chips were delicious. Friendly service and not busy on a Tuesday afternoon.

29/09/2026: Wow, what a gem in Kilkenny! We shared an Irish stew which comes with a delicious buttery mash, fresh baked brown bread (it’s heavy but absolutely delicious ) and an order of chips. We absolutely loved the meal, couldn’t fault it, and incredible service!

17/06/2026: Bollards is our favorite pub in Kilkenny. This was our 3rd time to Kilkenny and we stop in here every time for pints, food, sessions, and overall great craic. Cheers to Damien who was our bartender and took great care of us. We enjoyed chatting with him and a few other locals. It feels like a home away from home. Can’t wait to come back soon!

11/10/2026: Food is lovely comes out on a sizzling plate . Gave us complimentary soup and bread all-in great date nite.

27/09/2026: From the outside, and a look at their menu you’d expect great things. But sadly that wasn’t to be, arrived and sat down. Ordered starters which took a lifetime to arrive (place was not busy) eventually mediocre starters arrived, then mains, which for the price were not up to par. Sad to say won’t be returning.

19/10/2026: Went here to sit by the fireplace that reviews had mentioned but there was none (only a lampshade in it that was off). 2-man-Band was on on a sunday night & way to loud to have a conversation. Sat in the restaurant bit but the open space looses any cozy atmosphere. Only came for drinks, so can’t review the food. Staff was friendly though and attentive.

15/10/2026: Had lunch in the restaurant today because it was close to a colleague's workplace. It was shockingly bad, absolute swill. Had shepherd's pie with veg (carrots, broccoli, peas). The pie itself was inoffensive, tasteless; but the vegetables were stone cold and badly cooked. Possibly the most unappetising meal I have eaten in years. Never again. Avoid like the plague.

12/10/2026: I visited the store on Sunday, and purchased a few ceramic gifts. Because they were fragile, I explicitly asked the cashier twice to wrap them in bubble wrap to protect them. She assured me that everything was securely wrapped and protected. However, later on, I discovered that no bubble wrap had been used at all. I am very disappointed that my request was ignored despite being reassured face-to-face. Please ensure staff take more care with fragile items.

09/10/2026: After almost 5 years of coming here as a veggie, I finally have to say something. My mother in law loves this place and books it every time they come to visit us from Dublin. The vegetarian option has not changed in those 5 years. Each time we go I smile and politely order the pearl barley courgette cake and silently cry inside. It was alright the first time, nothing special or that I would come back for. And every time MIL says “I’ve booked the Lime Tree” I pray they will have changed the ONE veggie option. But they never do. I’m not a complainer generally…I’ve given so many chances but after 5 years I have to say something. We are booked again in a few weeks time and I thought…will I dare check the menu in the hope…but as I knew it would be…it’s the same boring veggie options. The only veggie starter contains goats cheese which I cannot stand and I don’t like eating dairy products anyway. So every time, I opt for the soup. I can make soup at home. I come to a restaurant to be wowed by something I wouldn’t make at home…it’s honestly soul destroying when everyone around you is tucking into hearty foods like roasts with mash and gravy and sticky wings…and your stuck with soup and pearl barley cake over, and over, and over again. I don't mean to be impolite but any chef worth his mettle is doing INCREDIBLE things with veg these days. There are literally HUNDREDS of amazing vegetables to make things from. Why are you leaving us out in the cold? We want hale and hearty foods too! What about a mushroom pie with mash and greens and a lovely rich gravy? You do know how to make a non meat gravy don’t you? What about something fabulously miso glazed? We like sticky glazes too! Frankly the tapenade at the beginning is the best part of the meal for me. Maybe I should ask for a main course portion of bread and tapenade next time…I’d enjoy that more. Please, please PLEASE!!! It’s time to move on from that bloody pearl barley cake guys!!! You must be bored stiff cooking it by now. Time to get creative. All the worlds governments and scientists are talking about how ecologically damaging and unsustainable animal agriculture is, not to mention the ethics of killing others. I understand this is Kerry and its sheep and cow country but the veggie/vegan customers deserve better. I look forward to the few nights out a year where I don’t have to cook but this one is always bittersweet for me because I end up feeling like an afterthought every single time.

29/09/2026: The restaurant has unfortunately declined significantly. The management and service staff seem unfriendly. It's also a shame that birthdays are no longer honored! The restaurant used to be so good. It's a real pity! The high prices no longer justify the quality.
