29/12/2024: Exceptional service the drinks are very reasonable priced. We visited over Christmas for a party and I’ll definitely recommend and I’ll return next year. The stout here is pretty good I say it’s the pipes are well used. A typical Irish pub with great staff and a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Perfect place to meet with friends maybe even a game of cards

11/01/2025: I was just in to collect a takeaway and stood at the counter while 6 different people were served in front of me. Very upsetting and poor service. The staff members appeared to know some of the people they were serving ahead of me.

23/10/2024: Outdoors at Dropping Well pub in Milltown. It was busy when there and really caters for takeaway teas/coffees. Could do with more seating & tables.

30/11/2024: Had a awful experience here, food was cold , didn't get one chips cheese garlic ,and the two we did get were dry a teaspoon of mayo no cheese ,it was the one in bishopstown, we always go to the one in ballincollig and it's fantastic but they were out of some stuff. Absolutely disgraceful. We will never go there again.

The Square Cafe Balbriggan

Barrista's don't seem to be as competent as other places in the town. (I.e java and cabana)
The coffee I got today was supposed to be a latte, but it was basically an americano with hot milk and zero foam. And more expensive than java and cabana.

UPDATE:
I sense some passive aggressiveness in the response.
For clarification, the picture I took was just after I had left, so it's not a random image slapped up there.
I was buying a coffee there once or twice a week. It's not rocket science to make a decent foamy latte/cappuccino. The quality just isn't as good as other cafes.
I'll come back again, if the quality is better I'll update my review.

05/01/2025: They had 1 job. I asked for garlic chilli cheese chips, I got regular garlic chips. Honestly disgusting behaviour. Never going here again. I didn't go here for 2 years because last time they messed up my order. Useless
15/12/2024: The food is nice but you have to check the order before leaving, I just paid for two portions and got one, only realized when it was too late to come back. The staff takes away your receipt also to prepare food and you don't get it back so it seems like a common problem.

01/02/2025: An absolute disaster.... ordered on screen. Waited as normal for my number to appear for collection. It appeared, was cancelled off screen as every order behind me was.
I approached counter to collect & I waited & waited & waited....approx 20mins for 2 happy meals & a coffee. Organised chaos! I appreciate it was busy/peak time but there was nothing efficient about it. Plenty of staff tripping over each other but no managing of tasks & it's in full view of customers.
Would not go back to Carlow.

03/11/2024: Just had curry cheese chips from the Bay Diner they were okay, not the nicest chips and €6 is a bit expensive! It was a small enough portion too. I’ve had fish and chips here before and got the southern fried chicken burger. I would say the food here is adequate and ok. I think it would be good if they considered the packaging that they use rather than using cheap polystyrene actually consider wrapping chips in paper even, at this stage I think it’s unethical for businesses to still be using this kind of packaging for the environmental impact.
