20/11/2025: We visited recently and unfortunately had an uncomfortable experience. When we asked about the pet policy (as we have a cat rather than a dog), the manager giggled, which made us feel quite uneasy. A simple, polite “no, sorry” would have been completely fine — especially since we had checked in advance and the website indicated the place was pet-friendly.
After we posted our initial review, the manager approached us with the review in hand to ask if it was ours. While I understand this may have been an attempt to resolve the situation, the approach felt quite confrontational and ultimately made things worse. A more helpful way to address the issue would have been to ask how the service could be improved going forward.
Unfortunately, the food also wasn’t very good, which added to our disappointment. Overall, the interaction left us feeling quite unsettled.
20/11/2025: Service in this place is fantastic, quick and efficient even when exceptionally busy. Lovely friendly faces when you walk in, always met with a big smile and great humour. Food is also top notch, quickly becoming my regular spot for a quick lunch.

25/11/2025: I had the regular brest in the bin meal and I have to say for such a big food chain the chips were very few, a small amount of chips on a little paper bag. I think it may be only this outlet as chips from other hillbillys were a fill little bag and more. Honestly for such a cheap item I can't understand how they get away with serving chips that you could count out. The brest in the bun was nice could have done with a little more sauce. The onion rings were ok batter was a bit oily instead of crispy.
Then there is the extra charge for any thing that comes with Coca Cola like a sugar tax. Another sneaky way of hiking up the price of meals. As for he service it was pleasant, quick and professional from the young member of staff. That was about the only positive experience. As for the meal over all it was not value for money.
06/10/2025: Love Hillbillies in general, love the Chicken and gravy in particular, usually its very nice unless chicken is left under the heat lamp to long and drys out. Was in Mahon today and ordered a Burger Meal and 3 Tenders meal, server put me in for a Burger Meal and 3 tenders which I didn't know as still cost 24 euro, but when I highlighted I was missing items server says I only paid for 3 tenders, so to purchase the other items I hadd to pay for separately for the chips, drink and dip which ended up costing me more money than it would of as a meal because the server got the order wrong in the first place.

01/01/2026: Order from here regularly enough, ordered for delivery yesterday, driver shows up over an hour late, missing parts of the order then doesnt ask but trys to aggressively demand an extra 3 euro off me because im over 6km away (im 4 km away) and had already paid 4 euro for delivery and basically calls me a liar when I tell him ive never been required to pay extra money upon delivery before, was close to bouncing the pizza off his head, serious cheek to demand more money when late and missing parts of the order. Needless to say he didnt get his 3 euro and i won't be back. No problem with the food and the drivers Ive gotten in the past have been sound but this guy was a clown.
14/12/2025: Made order for 16" pizza, 2 cans of coke and 2 ice cream cookies.
Pizza was no way hot, wasn't even a bit warm, just cold full stop. Cans of coke were grand but the ice cream cookies were not like the way ice cream should of been, they were just pure soft. Very disappointing.
I definitely will not be ordering from that pizza max again. 😏

23/01/2026: Omg we’re do I start the place was freezing like an ice cube me and my family had to keep our jackets on I’ve never seen worse service in my whole life it’s not wheel chair friendly there no way you could get a wheelchair up that stairs I DO NOT RECOMMEND and the toilets were disgusting, I can explain it 🤢🤮DONT RECOMMEND

I rang them 8 times no answer and still no order and they took my money off my account, I am extremely angry here , I am a regular customer, it's now 11.20 and no food , they will be getting a phone call and a very angry person on the phone and I will be going uo to get my money back , not happy at all

05/03/2026: I normally don’t write reviews on places but for this young lady I must .A girl was hired in the midleton branch recently that I hadn’t seen before and she is so pleasant I couldn’t help but notice her she greeted us with a big smile and has a great attitude and personality instantly made us feel welcome and comfortable .
My youngest even asked me “mammy can we go back to shop with pretty nice girl from Wednesday”.
She checked in on my kids to offer any additional service even after making their sandwich and her smile is genuinely infectious lifted my mood after long day at work .
We have looked forward to seeing her since meeting her a week ago and this kind of young person on the team must be so delightful .
Additionally now that my kids constantly ask me to take them to “pretty hair girl in green shop” after school it’s safe to say I’ll be back more often 😂
01/03/2026: The service was absolutely fantastic, there was a young lady by the name of Ella who was so lovely and helpful, another lady called Liz was also amazing, However the food was sub par and when we eventually complained we where confronted by a manager who was extremely rude and demeaning, overall it was an experience with both highs and lows.

28/10/2025: Stopped here at the hotel today to be told no food in hotel only pollys at side of hotel, so we went down to it after using hotel toilets which were spotless clean. Went to order stuff from staff to be told that’s a Sunday menu, was looking for 2portions of fries and 1portion of tenders, so that couldn’t be made, it seemed staff just didn’t want to be their at all. Ordered a blt I slice of lettuce took up quarter of the slice of bread bacon heated like what you would get in Burger King, when I was bringing the toasted ham and cheese sandwich back as it was cold I got mayo for BLT as that had no taste at all, soup was nice and shop brought brown bread. The only nice part was where you could sit. Sorry I won’t be back. Or recommending this place to anyone as I had to stop somewhere before I got home for more food after spending €22 plus tip at till
13/08/2025: The seating area is lovely, but the toasted sandwiches were such a disappointment. 6.20 for a ham and cheese toastie that had meagre fillings in it and the cheese wasn’t even melted or hot. A lick of relish or a bit of onion wouldn’t have gone astray. It was the same story for the “Dubliner cheese” sandwich too. 28 euro for 2 sandwiches, a sausage roll, Coke Zero and a kids smoothie.

21/01/2026: After a long busy day I recently picked up a delicious munchie box, onion rings, spring rolls with free prawn crackers. I pre-ordered through the website & everything was ready to go when I arrived The muchie box was hot & packed full with chips, crispy chicken, chicken wings, pork rib, crunchy onion & red chilli and curry sauce. It was really tasty but a little bit too salty for me (I don't use salt usually) but no one had this issue. The leftovers made for a tasty snack the next day after been reheated in our air fryer. I can also recommend the chicken & sweetcorn soup that I tried a different day.

10/03/2026: I am writing to express my absolute frustration with your establishment. For three weeks now, you have been unable to serve milkshakes. It is a disgrace that such a basic item is unavailable for such an extended period. Is it really that difficult to fix a machine or manage your stock?
Furthermore, the atmosphere in the restaurant has become unacceptable. It feels less like a McDonald’s and more like a homeless shelter or a public canteen. I witnessed a group of Spanish youths sitting at the tables eating their own homemade sandwiches.
How is this allowed? It is a joke that while I pay for my food, ten others are sitting there eating out of their own lunchboxes. What kind of management is this?
If this is the new standard, next time I will just cook my lunch at home, bring it in a pot, and sit down to eat it at one of your tables. This is shameful and completely unprofessional.

28/11/2025: Place is a classic Irish cottage setting tucked in around the corner opposite to Treacys Oakwood Hotel where I was staying. Tried their spicy chicken kebab, quantity was good but the chicken was cooked inconsistently, some pieces were chewy & hard, some pieces were soft however some were undercooked as felt rubbery while chewing had to spit out. Customer service was good and there was no long wait after ordering. Food quality can be improved.
