31/08/2025: A large, well-decorated, comfortable cafe with muffins and coffee, matcha tea, etc., high prices but similar to other cafes.
01/08/2025: As we were in Mullingar for a few days and in search of places offering beverages and light meals, we came across Chocolate Brown.
From the moment we entered the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Nothing was too much trouble and we were quickly seated and served. The coffees and toasted offerings were excellent and very satisfying.
This establishment is definitely a pit stop above all in Mullingar. Do visit and you won't be disappointed.

08/09/2025: Incredible, almost magical spot ! Great breakfast, incredible service. Rooms are bright and clean. Step out to great views and walks or take a short drive to local sights or towns.

23/04/2025: Oh my god a little piece of heaven. My friend took myself and husband for my birthday. We had the hake and my god the taste was something else actually tasted like fish. The pea purée was amazing. Highly recommend prices good staff excellent will definitely be back. I took my grandson a sausage roll home as know he loves them and said best sausage roll he ever had.
05/04/2025: Very poor salad the chicken was over cooked it was hard to eat. Glasses were filthy. Place wasn't very clean and the staff took ages to take the order.
Chairs are very uncomfortable. Not very relaxing. And over all poor food.

The Fish Basket Longstrand
12/07/2025: The most unbelievable amazing fish and chips i have hands down ever eaten in My life. The salad was the best I've ever eaten like unreal. I can't give this place enough praise. The staff were so nice and the bathrooms the cleanest I've ever seen.
10/06/2025: We've eaten here regularly with the kids. The chips are excellent — whoever supplies their potatoes is providing top-quality produce. The fish is always fresh, and the coffee is really good too.
The only downside is that it's often very busy — but that's to be expected when a place is good and in such a fabulous location.

13/07/2025: Poor food and service, a group of 10 and everyone was disappointed. Food was not fresh, overcooked and lacked flavour.
The hotel appears nice, but the restaurant doesn’t match this quality. The tables were set incorrectly, long waits for any requests and multiple mistakes in the orders.

27/08/2025: We stopped over to grab a beer on our way back from the Trim Castle. No complaints about the Guinness beer, however the atmosphere was a let down. Radio playing in the background, an infant crying (yes in a pub) and their toilet hygiene was a disaster

22/04/2025: Ashling Hotel was a very reliable place for good traditional food. Not anymore. Had a meal there on Easter Saturday. The food was pretty mediocre. A pretty poor attempt at nouvelle cuisine. It would be better if the chef stuck with traditional menus.
02/04/2025: Food was great, staff really friendly, a few really nice wines in the wine list 👌 big ups to Gonzalo and Emma
