26/06/2025: Popped into JB Mahoney recently and honestly, what a find. It’s got that rare mix of proper character and a genuinely warm atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. The Guinness? Spot on, creamy, smooth, poured with care. You can tell they take pride in it, which is more than you can say for a lot of places. And if you haven’t tried the Algerian, you’re missing out – bold, rich, and absolutely delicious. A proper pint to remember. The bar staff are brilliant, friendly, funny, and somehow manage to keep everything running smoothly even when it's packed. Even, the teachers chap I was speaking to inside. JB Mahoney’s strikes that perfect balance: welcoming, down-to-earth, but with real quality behind the bar. Whether you're in for a quiet one or a few rounds with mates, this place just gets it right.

09/08/2024: Gutted to see this has closed. First class coffee and always the best music. Staff were brilliant, friendly, took great care with their work and really knew their coffee. I wish them the best in the future.

18/08/2026: Got the goats cheese pizza to share. Really thin base, fresh veg, really enjoyed it. The only thing I could nitpick is we did ask for no olives but to be fair they were hidden under the rocket leaves so it is an easy mistake to make. Will be back to try other items.
