The best restaurants

27/10/2024: Food 5 out 5 Beautiful with a venue not without its charm which they should totally advertise. The seafood tagliatelle was yum. This place is missing a beat with its environmental sustainability initiatives in an ever so gentle way taking locals on their journey. Reusable napkins, local food and young local staff with locals fiercely protecting these young people by coming here. They should provide little notes all over the place telling their story. Id love if they would try out a monthly jazz, celtic fusion and new music chosen by the staff . Dessert was grand but why not a trio or crackers and brandy.

24/08/2024: Always an excellent night out! The seafood is fresh and deliciously cooked, the mussels in cream and crispy calamari to start, absolutely divine. We had the chef special pasta, seafood pasta and the surf and turf tonight. Couldn’t be happier with it - the banoffee and crumble are favourites. The pizza is great, especially the seafood. Eve and Mia were absolutely lovely. Thanks Orla for a delicious meal!

24/07/2024: My card got declined and they wouldn't let me come back with 2.60 at 12 and it was only 11.18 stay clear of this garage I won't be given it anymore money when I'm in this way and I won't ever get diesel there again horrible manager I would say more but it won't be published, just to add it was just a few wedges for my son that will just get thrown in the bin now, can u believe the lack of empathy in this world I pray to God that karma comes back around on you, you horrible man oh and the garage is absolutely disgusting and in need of a good clean I'll be given health and safety a call as well

26/02/2025: Lovely spot for lunch in Ennis. Lovely French/Irish ambiance & lots of interesting wine & food available to browse and buy. We had divine soup, salad & sandwich - really tasty, generous & fairly priced. Delicious.

12/01/2025: Bit of a gamble here really, we’ve eaten here three times, first two were very good with the female owner and one French waiter in charge. Third time there was another French waiter and different lady, French onion soup was watered down, two other dishes bore no resemblance to the description on the menu. It’s a nice spot, a bit different from the usual but I now feel I’ll be chancing it every time we visit as there’s no consistency.

18/02/2025: Love this cafe, visited the lighthouse and stopped in afterwards for a snack. The scones are HUGE and very fresh. My father in law had the chowder and loved it. Also good coffee!. The kids had cakes and crisps. This is my second time visiting and would definitely go back. The kids (8 & 4 yo) made some slate art with Rose just off the cafe while we were there. It only took about half an hour and they loved their slates. Highly recommend for kids if you want to entertain them while you are having your coffee.

07/01/2025: I ate here with my family a few months ago and kept coming back for a take away. Absolutely beautiful food . One time the order was wrong with delivery and they obliged me by correcting it with no fuss. (It happens) Extremely professional and they treat you personally too. Very clean and welcoming. Beautiful place to eat out or take away. ♥

04/07/2024: We booked restaurant weeks in advance for a very special occasion. When we arrived we were put sitting at the door which was extremely uncomfortable with people coming in and out and hitting/brushing off you as they passed. It was freezing cold with the door opening and closing every 30 seconds and the back of my chair was broken and I was unable to sit back into it in case I toppled over. It was the worst dining experience we ever had. I asked management could we move tables to be rudely told no it wasn’t possible even though the table beside us was empty. The table was then given to a family who dropped in on the off chance of getting a table. They hadn’t booked and we know that because I asked them! The food was very basic to say the least and my partner didn’t get his main course for 20 minutes after everyone else was served. The dessert was tasteless and the tea served was cold and like water. The only thing that was exceptional was the bill and to finish off the worst dining experience we ever had was that we were overcharged and had to be refunded for items we didn’t have. To diners out there, stop, pause and thing twice before you dine at the White Horse Ardmore.

28/06/2024: Amazing find in Ardmore for an unplanned lunch stop with a large group of 15 including kids. Everything was superb, food service and garden ambience. Perfect final lunch after an a large family gettogether.

28/12/2024: Hands down the worst pint of Guinness I have ever tasted...

20/12/2024: Our return visit this week was as good if not better than last time. Friendly service, good choice, excellent food. Roast beef was some of the best we had. Reasonable prices. Ample parking. Will be back.

08/12/2024: Good place to drop in for a bite to eat - great parking available at the side and back so easy to park the car. They have a set menu with very reasonable prices - but I went with the carvery which they also have going. I got fish n chips with a pint of Guinness. Service, it has to be said was slow, and we had to go to bar to get someone to take our order - which was a little disappointing. But the food was decent enough - tasty and no complaints. Pint was good too. So all in all not bad.

08/07/2024: You should make the fuel pumps a one way system… vehicles driving to the pumps in opposite directions is nonsensical. Someone has to reverse blindly. Especially when you have the avensis gang double parked right at the front door.. Mulrooneys has become the roughest convenience shop in town..

02/05/2024: Feel pump was faulty and spilt everywhere went to the shop was told I can wash my hands in the bathroom( I wish I hadn't )floor filthy no soap no toilet paper went to pay for my fuel I told the young man at till the state of toilet this was 7.15 am he didn't reply respond or even acknowledge the complaint!! I got no apology or assistance in cleaning the diesel from my shoes or trousers ? Then I go to send them an email to complain privately. There is no email !! Well done mulrooney's of nenagh The place is dirty with unpleasant and unprofessional staff who don't care about customers ... Not impressed 😕

24/01/2025: We had a blast. Any excuse to see the wonder of Ashford Castle. Loved the dark and deep atmosphere. The food was impeccable.

29/11/2024: Cenamos en el Dungeon y tuvimos un servicio absolutamente fenomenal. La comida era deliciosa, y servida con mucho entusiasmo. Habíamos investigado el menú antes de llegar, pero cambiamos de opinión cuando se presentaron los especiales. Samuel, nuestro camarero, era muy atento, e incluso se ofreció a tomar una foto para nosotros que era tan amable. Thomas también era muy atento y profesional. Nunca esperamos ni necesitamos nada. Tenían razón en cada detalle. Yo, yo mismo soy el más exigente que conozco, y alérgico a casi todo, y a mi esposo un chef (fue entrenado en Ashford Castle en la década de 1990) por lo que tenemos una alta atención a cada detalle y sabor, y aún así ambos limpiamos nuestros platos, y por supuesto comimos postre. 10 / 10 para comida y servicio.
