14/07/2025: First class . Great wine bar in its own right . Add in really good , simple food with excellent service and you have a winning combination. Great wine list and huge range of wines by the glass. A really great mind set behind this operation. Fantastic

13/07/2025: Cosy restaurant and wine bar with small dishes perfect for sharing with friends. Our meal last night was great, reasonably priced with great service.

21/07/2025: Never fails to put a smile on my dial. The food is fab. There's always a lovely crowd and buzzy atmosphere. The staff are warm and attentive. And the tablescapes in Summer are so pretty. I love a place that puts in this much effort across the board.

10/08/2025: 5 staff behind the bar more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. Then when we did get attention, they were extremely rude....certainly won't be back for the service

13/07/2025: I dunno what the heck is wrong with this place. I'm new to Cork, Clonakilty and Ireland in general and was denied entry simply because I was alone. Although I've never been in.... I'll certainly never be back. Head to GG's instead! These guys are funny as hell saying they were closing at 21:00. Lots of lads had said the "security" staff packing roofies. Didn't believe it until that night.

18/07/2025: Beautiful food. Sweet potato side was unreal. Chips were phenomenal. Even the bread beforehand was delicious My duck main was phenomenal, my fiancé wasn't overly impressed with the aubergine main but maybe just wasn't hungry enough. Would try something else instead. Everything was delicious. Everybody elses food looked top class. Lovely atmosphere and ambience The creme brulee was the most mouth watering we've ever had. Celebrated our engagement and birthday in style. We will be back again Great service also.

23/06/2025: An incredibly good café. We had several drinks, all of which were perfectly balanced. Most importantly, they weren't too sweet, just right. The service was friendly. The restroom is very well-maintained. They sell some lovely products in the café, which are also exceptional and great. There are only a few seats, so grab one and enjoy your drinks.

14/06/2025: The barista Diarmuid created an inviting atmosphere, and the matcha was the best I have had in Cork so far. Beautiful personality, a brilliant member of staff. Deserves a raise in my opinion. Will come again and recommend to friends.

31/07/2025: Extremely good food! Even though the prices have increased slightly compared to last year (a screenshot here on Google of the menu from a year ago), it's absolutely great value for money!

31/07/2025: An absolute gem in Midleton! I was working in town for the week and popped in one evening – the risotto was the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant is stunning, the staff are fantastic, the vibe is relaxed and chilled, and every detail is beautifully thought out. It’s not overpriced or stuffy, just great food and lovely service. I ended up coming back three nights in a row and ordered the same dish each time – that’s how good it was!

31/07/2025: We ate here for breakfast, and it was delicious. The staff was very friendly and I would definitely come back here again.

04/07/2025: The food was outstanding – freshly prepared, full of flavor and aroma. The mushroom risotto impressed with its rich taste and perfect texture, while the seafood tagliatelle in a creamy tomato sauce was a true feast – the generous variety of seafood and the well-balanced sauce made the dish unforgettable. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the warm, homely atmosphere made us feel comfortable and welcome right away. Serving Birra Moretti on draught. Definitely a place worth visiting!

06/08/2025: Stopped by on my way to the beach. The best fish and chips I ever had! The batter is different and it tastes so good. You can't pass by Kinsale and not try it! Prices are very reasonable.

29/07/2025: Amazing people, amazing setting, and the food is to die for. I'm from a town that prides itself on fried fish, and honestly I'd NEVER had monkfish this good (it's a little bit more expensive than the other fish but absolutely worth it). There are picnic tables right next to it and an amazing view of the bridge over the Bandon river estuary. Thank you so much, hopefully see you again very soon!

20/07/2025: Absolutely love this place. Not only is the food amazing but its a very chilled place to enjoy a pint. Atmosphere is lovely with great music on in the background throughout the day! Rain or sunshine Ill go back again and again!

08/07/2025: We visited the Roaring Donkey twice on 2 consecutive days, despite it being a bit of a hike up the hill to get there. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with chatty staff and patrons alike. We came away having learned quite a bit about Hurling. A great selection of drinks and I only wish that my local back home had more than one stout on offer. And the bonus for us .. it was downhill on the way back.

26/07/2025: Everything here was great! We enjoyed the weekday lunch menu offers. Curry, roast beef, bacon with lots of vegetables and a delicious mash. The prices were quite convenient, huge portions, lovely service.

06/08/2025: Main reason for 1 star is at the very bottom of my review. We had dinner here recently. This restaurant had been recommended to us by a friend who's from Skibbereen, a family member who has been here, and a random person from reddit. We were really looking forward to it. I can't honestly say that there was anything wrong. I just can't honestly say there was anything to write home about. What we ate: Black pudding with brie and mustard sauce Brie with berry compote Beef featherblade Breaded fish and chips The black pudding was good. Big portion. Tasty. The brie was a humongous portion. About 2/3 of a wedge you'd normally see in the supermarket. The cheese was nice but the compote was a little bland. The beef was good. Really nice hearty dish. Came with plenty veg. Way way to much potato. The was a lot of mash on the plate and it came with a creamy garlic gratin as well. One or the other would have been perfect. My husband had the fish and chips. I am very picky about the kind of fish I eat so I didn't taste it. He described it to me as "donegal catch". The chips looked a little sad. Other than the food, the atmosphere was a little noisey. The restaurant was incredibly warm. We found it to be uncomfortably so, to the point that we finished our drinks outside in the rain. Service was good. Only issue I had, which I think is a pretty big issue, is that when paying the bill, I wanted to leave a tip. I told the server who was taking my payment, and she said thank you but its cash only. Now, I could be wrong but my understanding is that if I want to leave a tip on my card, that's my choice, and that since 2022, workers are legally entitled to receive their electronic tips. I know this might be a bit of a pain for management, but I dont think that's a good enough excuse.

02/08/2025: We had the most fabulous meal last Thursday night. The fish was so amazing I can't wait to go back again. Christine was such a beautiful person. She could not do enough. She made our visit to the Church restaurant a special one. Thank you.

30/03/2025: The staff and service was lovely, ordering and serving was fast. However, the food was bad. The lasagne was watery and cold, the chips were half cooked and was soaking with oil as if it was sat in oil and it felt like it was microwaved. The lasagne had little to no flavour and the only thing I ate was the garlic bread. The brownie was okay as well but was cold. The service and the staff were amazing throughout the whole experience but food wise, wasn’t the best.

27/07/2025: Fabulous hotel..5 star treatment from the start..friendly and welcoming at reception..beautifully decorated rooms..amazing food especially in the Gulfstream restaurant and the views and beaches on the hotel doorstep simply are stunning. Will definitely be returning 😊
