The best restaurants in Cork

27/10/2024: Only word for this place is exceptional. The setting, food, staff. And…. the value for money 👌🏻👌🏻 It’s unusual to come away from a restaurant in Ireland these days genuinely feeling you had a great experience, without having to spend a fortune. But the Black Pig has nailed this. Can’t wait till I’m in Kinsale again. Thanks for taking care of us!

20/10/2024: Dropped in late (9.30pm) for a few glasses of wine and a plate of oysters. A great selection of wines and we weren't disappointed by our choices. Had a dozen oysters that were fresh and delicious.

04/11/2024: Lovely atmosphere in the pub. A very nice and spacial beer garden.

25/10/2024: If I could give 100 stars I would. The best breakfast we had on our two week holiday across Ireland and England. Also the best breakfast sandwich I've had in general. The vanilla and cardamom latte was heavenly. The staff were the kindest people. If I lived in Kinsale I would be there at least once a week.

25/10/2024: Myself along with my family visited Roastie on Oct. 24, 2024 while we were vacationing in Ireland from Boston. We went to Roastie on the recommendation from a gentleman at the old Midleton Distilling shop. It was an excellent recommendation. We highly recommend while in Ireland if you’re visiting Midleton or driving thru stop and pay them a visit. The people there are excellent extremely friendly and polite. The atmosphere is great comfortable and relaxing. Our meals were fantastic every thing was hot and fresh.

25/10/2024: La patronne plus que patiente avec notre anglais plus que médiocre. Endroit convivial, burgers à tomber par terre. Jamais mangé de burger aussi bon. Allez y sans hésitation.

12/10/2024: Was there this weekend, is absolutely wonderful! Food is excellent, owner is friendly and welcoming. Exactly what you hope to find in local venue. If you're anywhere in the area, is well worth a stop. We will definitely be back.

26/10/2024: Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful walkable town. Staff is friendly and attentive and food options are plentiful, even for children. The Pad Thai and Chicken Curry with rice were phenomenal. Lots of seating available on 2 floors. The fish in the Fish & Chips is a good size and prepared as a flat filet in, maybe, a panko coating as opposed to battered. Wasn’t what I expected so sharing it here.

01/11/2024: Super Service, love my AnPost parcels arriving with great value organic products. Website is easy to work with, products always superb quality, well wrapped in recycled cardboard. Huge range, good bulk buy offers for household and food. Love the organic whole bean coffee, tea and herb range

23/10/2024: Best fish and chips we have eaten without doubt. Definitely value for money at €12 for a portion. The wait for our food wasn’t v long either.

13/11/2024: Had dinner here recently and while I did really enjoy the food I wouldn’t say it was anything to write home about! I had the monkfish special and it was very good although very rich. We also had the hake which was nice. Cocktails were just fine but then I did overhear that the cocktail barman was off that night so perhaps we were unlucky. The service was as we have grown to expect in Ireland lately, fine. After spending €150 I’m not sure I could say it was worth it.

28/10/2024: We have always loved this restaurant in the heart of Kinsale but didn’t know one very important detail. It is very unusual for a chef and kitchen to make every single item on the menu from scratch. This happens in this restaurant. Tom & Grannia are running a very friendly restaurant with superb food and a great cocktail bar. Our favourites are the fish “specials” but my partner always returns to the slow cooked short rib of beef and the fabulous chicken wings. Every man’s idea of heaven!! All the dishes are great and we all Love the crème caramel brûlée and the flourless chocolate cake. Decor is cosy but modern and staff so friendly and helpful. A must when in Kinsale (and no freezer friendly quick dishes here).

15/10/2024: Scannell's is an absolute gem. Wide choice of really tasty, well prepared food, friendly efficient staff. The place is really well run. I highly recommend and no doubt they will see me yet again.

06/09/2024: Cracking wee pub and a lovely pint of Guinness. I met a really nice American chap that's lived in Clon for a number of years, his name was Daryl. If you ever see this, it was a pleasure meeting you. I'm the biker from Derry :)

03/11/2024: As a visiting tourist, we enjoyed a very solid lunch here. Seems like a popular spot for locals. Good food, service and atmosphere.

27/10/2024: Our favourite place to eat when in Midleton. It doesn't matter what you order because everything is fantastic. Make sure you go hungry and go for the 3 courses, you don't want to miss anything 😉 fantastic staff as always and the owner is the perfect host.

26/10/2024: I cannot say enough good things about this place. The owner does alll the things - cooks, brings out food, talks to patrons - and you can tell he cares about his food and the people who eat here. Tons of celiac safe GF options all marked on the menu. I had the chicken shawarma. No joke - this was my top five favorite restaurant dishes of all time. Flavor was outstanding and food came out hot. Highly recommend something Middle-Eastern, as it’s clear that is their “home cooking.” Truly wonderful food and experience.

12/11/2024: Special place for a special occasion.. Really great place here , top class in every way , great food , great service and fantastic location ( ask for a table in the courtyard) .. a little bit more expensive than most but well worth it .. Cheers 🥂

03/11/2024: Went here to celebrate engagement with our extended family. Food was really nice but the service was very poor. Attitude of the waitress was very bad and felt we were inconveniencing her throughout the whole evening. Had to go to the main bar to ask for drinks because no one was coming to our table. Starters came out for half of our party and by the time we had finished it, the remaining starters came . Ordered sticky toffee pudding and mine was cold while others were warm. Ordered soup and garlic bread for a child and only the garlic bread came.
