13/09/2025: Amazing place. Marta was lovely. So was the food made by Miguel, Brazilian chef. They are so welcoming. I would highly recommend the Feijoada ( Brazilian Dish) and the rib eye steak. The Banoffe pie was spectacular. Decent price too.

13/09/2025: Being visitors in town, we rely pretty heavily on reviews and ratings for restaurants - and let me tell you something that the already amazing reviews might not: Daniel's, Daniel in particular, is a rare find that you'll be lucky to have the chance to meet, interact with and remember. The food is French inspired with the Irish touch of top tier local ingredients - but it's the total experience that makes this a note-worthy stop for anyone in the area. Daniel sits with you, he talks with you, he tells your the stories of his food, his recipes and his travels. This isn't a fast paced modern restaurant with the most innovative food/non-food menu items. This is exactly the charm, in full, that those places are missing. It's classic food, beautifully done. It's an absolute wonder of an owner/chef who really enjoys this thing he's done for over 3 decades and who really is lit up from within to see you enjoy his food. This is the real deal of a restaurant that we're all too often missing in today's world. Take the time. Slow down. Enjoy your food. Go meet Daniel. You won't regret it.

Lovely table with a magnificent view. Two glasses of Prosecco and a bottle of wine. Very good. And the food. Excellent... Many thanks to the amazing team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

04/10/2025: We are visiting from the states and stopped in as Lemon Jelly was one of the few restaurants with an early open. I am sooooo glad we did. The food was delish but the service was even better. Pascal was so attentive and kind. We will be back!

08/08/2025: A stellar meal in Athlone. A real focus on local produce, and expert handling. Rabbit and black pudding ballotine to start, a chocolate and cherry Mille feuille to finish, all homemade breads and the best cheese crackers have ever had. A recommendation to visit from anywhere.

19/09/2025: We flew to Dublin for the weekend to celebrate our son’s 14th birthday, and based on a recommendation we chose The Schoolhouse Hotel and Gastro Bar for his special dinner. The hotel itself is truly charming — both inside and out. In the evening it looked especially beautiful, softly lit from the outside with a picturesque canal right beside it, which created a cozy and memorable atmosphere even before we stepped in. The service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly, which made us feel very welcome. The food was good, though I expected a bit more. The seafood pasta was tasty and nicely prepared, while the steak was just average. A lovely touch was the birthday candle served with dessert, which made the celebration feel more personal and thoughtful. The tiramisu stood out with its beautiful presentation in a rounded glass, adding elegance to the end of the meal. Overall, The Schoolhouse is a wonderful spot for a special occasion thanks to its charming setting, warm service, and stylish atmosphere. While the food didn’t quite exceed expectations, the experience as a whole was memorable and enjoyable, and I would still recommend it for anyone looking for a cozy and picturesque place to celebrate in Dublin.
