15/05/2026: Consistently grand food at Dan’s - we had fish and chips and half roast duck with cheesy and croquette potatoes with sauté onions accompanied by a lovely Chardonnay and a nice red from South Africa. Well worth visiting

22/07/2026: As a coeliac who gets so anxious eating out, the staff were so kind after asking for reassurance regarding their gluten free bread. It’s really really good! The food was incredible and the view was beautiful. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Was there on a tour and they did a great job with food, beverage and service.
13/06/2026: A fantastic location. My conclusion after a four-week stay in Ireland: the best pub of all. We were there on May 28, 2026, and a trio with guitar, violin, and flute was playing. For me, the concert was the best thing I heard during those four weeks. I'll probably never understand why some people feel the need to sit right next to the musicians to chat during musical performances.

The food was great and the service also.
I would really recommend this place. It is small and very cozy.

17/07/2026: Who knew? Can't fathom why I have not discovered this gem before now. We arrived for a play in the Community Hall and stumbled on Monk's Lane. They were happy we only wanted a small bite in the heat and short time we had. Super starters, all to be recommended. The cappuccino was lovely too. Check out the beer garden, it has the most fabulous flower garden and nooks and crannies to enjoy.🌻 We plan to return for the full experience! 😋

Then we had a pre-booked concert (The High Stool Prophets) & they were absolutely fantastic. The whole venue was rocking.
They also are back here on 9th Oct …… book your tickets very early, if available.
The staff in Dolan's are 5*

06/08/2026: Visited grogans castle lounge today, ordered a pink gin tonic and a Guinness. Bill came to 18.90. We ordered another round and was charged 21.90 so I questioned it and was told it was correct. I queried it and they gave me a copy of the receipt to which I saw they charged me a bottle of sol instead of a bottle of tonic. They then gave me 2.90 in change short changing me 90cent. I live and I am from Dublin, I will not be returning!

05/08/2026: Delicious pizzas, nice selection of craft beers, good music and friendly staff. Was really busy but got a table after a short wait. Very warm inside due to pizza over but worth it. We will be back for sure!
Only negative is the light sensor in the women’s toilet is way to brief and you are in the dark and need to flail around on the toilet to get the light in again 😅

09/08/2026: We visited on Thursday with our three young kids. We sat outside the back in a lovely area. We were so impressed with the quality of service from the young waitress we had…the best service we have had in years. Our food was really quick which is a major advantage with young kids. The quality was amazing. So tasty. We loved it so much I sent my folks the following night and they had an equally brilliant experience!
06/08/2026: Excellent food & staff - had a brilliant meal. Highly recommend if ever near Middleton.
