The Elm Tree
Cork
06/07/2026: Well done š Well worth a visit š
06/07/2026: Extremly dissapointed with food.
How can you adverise real belgian waffles and serve frozen ones that weren't even properly reheated prior serving.
Very sweet, only warm with nothing special.
These frozen waffles are in every irish canteen served so how can this be their special morning treat.
Dissapointed.
Service was very good but they behavied like they were afraid of everything in there. Looked so streeesed even it was very quiet morning.

Swagman
Sligo
25/07/2026: Just dropped in for a few Irish whiskeys. Read about this place back in Oz and was not disappointed. Seriously great atmosphere, Dale and his staff are old world friendly and genuine. We had a good chat and stayed much longer than we actually had time for because it was so good. Do
Yourself a favour - the Swagman is top notch and a definite visit in Sligo.
21/07/2026: A cozy, classic Irish pub with very helpful and friendly staff and excellent food. You can sit inside or outside, where the atmosphere is relaxed and you can play pool. I definitely recommend a visit. All the best āļø

09/07/2026: We got some pizzas and cokes- Coke was flat and came in a glass (no bottle/ can), pizza was tasty but in basic, frozen pizza kind of way. Service was friendly- lots of staff. Itās a real tourist spot in a lovely location with friendly staff but we thought the food was disappointing

The Strawberry Field
15/07/2026: Staff should be more considerate fpr kids with Autism....instead of giving out to them , shocking behaviour
13/07/2026: We had a very disappointing experience this morning and won't be returning.
The restaurant opens at 10:00 a.m. We arrived about 7 minutes early because we had mistimed our journey. We politely asked a member of staff who was unloading drinks if we could wait outside at one of the tables rather than sitting in the car. We explained that we had three young children, including a 6-year-old with severe autism, a 5-year-old, and a 15-month-old, and that the small car park was right beside the road with nowhere safe for the children to wait. We made it clear we were happy to wait until opening time.
About six minutes later, our autistic son unexpectedly ran towards a door that turned out to be the kitchen entrance. I immediately got up and ran after him, but before I could reach him, the staff member began scolding him. I explained that my son has severe autism and doesn't understand boundaries in the same way other children do.
Instead of showing any understanding or compassion, he simply repeated that they didn't open until 10:00. I pointed out that it was now 10:00, and he responded with a smart remark. I then asked, "Should we just leave?" His response was simply, "Yes," delivered in a way that made it seem like he couldn't have cared less.
I completely understand that staff need to protect kitchen areas and that children shouldn't be entering them. I wasn't upset about being stoppedāI was already on my way to get my son. What was upsetting was the complete lack of empathy and the dismissive attitude shown towards a family doing their best, especially after explaining our son's disability.
Good food can bring people back, but kindness and basic human decency are what leave a lasting impression. Sadly, we experienced neither.

Simon Lambert & Sons
Wexford
18/07/2026: We went for dinner here and were quite pleased with it.
I've tasted a lot of pulled pork in my life, and genuinely think the pulled pork here is one of the nicest I've ever had. Generous portions, and the staff were extremely friendly. Prices were good for the amount of food we received too.
11/07/2026: Best beef burger ever, food is delicious, ribs and brisket just made to perfection. Service is a plus. Will come back for sure.
