13/05/2026: We went for Sunday carvery and had a lovely lunch. Very generous portions of tender beef, beautifully seasoned vegetables and gravy. Extremely tasty. Definitely recommend the food. ALSO Highly recommend having a browse around the immense ground floor which has many nooks and crannies, lovely hidden areas. All beautifully decorated with very interesting artworks and interesting objects and gorgeous stained glass windows... stunning. A great venue to satisfy the tummy and the eyes ☺️

01/06/2026: Think closer to a 4 star than a 5 star. Breakfast on the first morning was only ok. Full irish was over cooked and bacon was not good. Service very slow. Reception woke us up at 10.40 looking for a credit card number. It could have waited till morning as we were staying 2 nights but when I suggested this they didn't see to agree. Being honest tho the foor in Amber bar was very good and staff were lovely.

19/05/2026: A good reminder that the rankings of hotels are based on facilities available, not actual quality or service. Both (both!!) pram lifts were out of order making navigating the hotel with a pram very difficult. Staff did not help with luggage or baby pram. There is no dedicated greeter for breakfast so everybody who comes down just waits aimlessly until somebody notices them Every so often you'll notice chipped paint, worn carpet, stained cutlery or other signs of low maintenance. (€260 per night by the way). The shower is a cramped prefabricated plastic installation. Portmarnock hotel is one that survives on the reputation of the golf course, but outside of that legacy there is much better value and better luxury guest experiences you can get for your money in Ireland, and in Dublin.

17/04/2026: First stayed here 8 years ago and have since settled in the area. A quality establishment and a location you can't beat. The beach is my happy place.

04/06/2026: Wonderful! The food was more than plentiful (one dish to share), delicious, and very reasonably priced. The service was friendly and super fast. We left delighted.

15/06/2026: Warm hospitality, fantastic food, great value, and a memorable local experience. We had a fantastic experience at Muskerry Arms Bar. The staff were incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in, creating the kind of relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes a pub feel truly local. The food was absolutely delicious — especially the fish chowder and the Irish Stew, which was the chef’s special and genuinely outstanding. My wife had the burger that was loaded with bacon, cheese and excellent quality beef. All dishes were full of flavour, hearty, and exactly what you hope for in a traditional Irish pub meal. Prices were very reasonable too, especially considering the quality. Our B&B host, Olwen, highly recommended the place, and she was absolutely right. It was also great to meet the owner and hear the history of the family behind the bar — a lovely personal touch that added even more character to the visit. Overall, Muskerry Arms Bar delivered excellent food, warm service, and a memorable sense of place. A spot well worth visiting.

10/06/2026: Our most disappointing meal during our two-week trip across Ireland. One of us ordered the soup of the day with a sandwich, while the rest had the beef stew with vegetables. Unfortunately, the food lacked the care and attention you hope for when dining out. The stew was underwhelming in flavor, and it was served with what appeared to be plain packaged white bread rather than something fresh or toasted. The soup & sandwich was good but nothing to write home about. The service was friendly and attentive, but we left disappointed with the overall quality of the food. Based on our experience, we would recommend eating elsewhere!

18/05/2026: I brought a group of 15 women from Canada, and we had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the service was warm and welcoming, and our whole group had such a great time together. And the fire was absolute perfection, especially after a cold hike up Knocknarea. 🔥 Thank you for the wonderful hospitality, we will definitely be back! ❤️

17/06/2026: This is a very convenient spot from the airport and surrounded by nice restaurants and handy shops. The room was spacious and well appointed and the staff were very helpful. The folks are the bar made an extra effort to create a good atmosphere. I'd definitely stay again!

16/06/2026: Out of all the places you can stay in Ireland, don’t stay here. I came here on a study abroad trip, and apparently if you are a young college student, you don’t deserve respect here. The staff is rude, and talks down on you. Night shift was rude and so was the morning shift. Came in to check in and they were disorganized, rude, and continued to second guess me when I kept mentioning the room keys were labeled wrong. I’m highly disappointed with the lack of air conditioning. I understand that Ireland in general is at a good temp, but if you run hot, find a place with an ac and not a plug in fan. Hopefully they will start to treat all customers with respect and not just the ones who look old.

20/04/2026: Beautiful and inviting ambiente and atmosphere, professional and friendly service, and our food was perfect. They have a classic modern menu, and the overall experience was absolutely great. I'm sure we'll become regular customers.

15/05/2026: Best customer service in the country, homemade sausage rolls were absolutely 10/10. The pancakes were mid to be completely honest but the service and friendless was so great compared to anything I get in Dublin it’s a 5 star from me.

03/06/2026: Had our first meal in Ireland at The Brewery Tap. One of the best meals ever. Staff, service, cleanliness, food quality everything was wonderful. We had cod, mushroom soup, bruschetta and penne dello tap. All prepared perfectly and full of flavour. Great food, great quality. We couldn't ask for more.

18/05/2026: Good car parking food excellent service needs addressing. I ordered veg but a bowl of chips instead. By time veg arrived everything was cold. My god they could do with hiring a door fitter. The banging of doors as your eating would lift you out of the seat. Surely this can be fixed.

18/05/2026: Really good spot for food. Well though out menu. Good value, good service.

05/05/2026: Stopped for a light lunch, and settled in for two hours of enjoyment. Recommend for anything from a meal to just enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.
