I've been flying to Ireland for the holidays for years now, and every year this is our go-to spot for a fantastic Irish steak in Swords. We've never had a bad meal, whether it's a winged burger or something else; this one has been consistently fantastic for years. Thanks to the team. 🫶🏻

06/01/2026: Not before time am I writing this review. Go there most Saturdays with my friend and have never been disappointed. Steak sandwiche and chips are absolutely delicious. The excellent staff are amongst the best i have encountered. 100% recommend that people try this marvellous place.

They not only use high quality ingredients but also know how to combine them in a tasty way. The arrangement of the food on the plates was beautiful. 04/12/2025: Very disappointed with the new version of scampi. All 4 of us ordered it remembering the previous occasions we enjoyed. very hard bread crust coating, totally overdone. Couldn't eat mine, please use a more tender tempura style coating.

09/11/2025: The Grove is a hidden treasure. Food is reliably good, the staff are friendly and helpful and the music on Thursday nights adds to the atmosphere. Worth a visit 😊

17/12/2025: June 2025: A great traditional pub in Leenaun just south of the head of the fjiord; nice pint of Guinness and a half of the Zero too. The food was a tasty fish and chips and the goat cheese parcel with salad. If you are in a Motorhome or camper van you can park overnight opposite in the public carpark for free which comes with a great view over the waters of the fjord.

27/10/2025: Cozy pub/restaurant with a great view. The mussels were fresh and delicious, the seafood chowder was creamy and rich, and the crispy buttermilk chicken goujons were also really good.

13/12/2025: Love a meal here whenever we are in Carlow , good good and service , staff are really good and pleasant .

08/12/2025: Had a nice Cesar Salad with plenty of parmesan. The chicken was breaded so good luck on the calories count but nice as well. Apple pie wasn’t bad either but wish it had some cinnamon or winter spice. Parking is on street or the omniplex across the road ( pay options in both cases). Best thing here is the commitment to value that not many places still have. Will return.

28/10/2025: We enjoyed the Spice Bag, Chicken Carbonara, Kids Roast Beef and all 3 were delightful! The food was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was nice and friendly with an old fashioned charm. The bathrooms were fancy - so say the kids.

17/01/2026: Spent two lovely nights recently in the Dublin Skylon Hotel. The double room was spacious, well appointed, the respa mattress was very comfortable and great to get validated parking on site. This hotel has been transformed since I stayed many years ago. It’s no wonder the Dublin Skylon Hotel won Dublin City Hotel of the Year in 2024. It will be my go to hotel in future whilst staying in Dublin. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is that there is no leisure facilities. Thank you to all the staff for a very pleasant stay 🙌

02/01/2026: A very nice place, the food was decent but nothing special, however the manager's welcome and especially the waiter Gauthier's smile were fantastic. He's professional and incredibly kind, and doesn't hesitate to give advice on local attractions. He's a real asset to the establishment. Thank you to him and the rest of the staff.

02/01/2026: Has gone down recently. I was here on NYD, food (lamb) was overcooked, premises was very cold with icy breeze every time door was opened. Overpriced, under staffed for mediocre food.

24/12/2025: Walked in at 11am on Christmas Eve with my wife and two kids. While it was Christmas Eve the pub was not yet at its usual busy trade. This was the reason we arrived at 11am to enjoy a couple pre lunch drinks and There were two small tables free down stairs on the left which we organised and pushed together. Despite two staff members walking by with no issue but the then, just as we had ourselves sorted a tall, slim grey haired bar man then came out, looked us up and down and said “you can’t do that” and walked back in behind the bar leaving us standing there with 2 kids a folded buggy and shopping bags. We had to just leave. While we understood that they want to keep their set up we would have expected some decency and basic customer service to assist us especially with the cost of food and beverage in Dublin these days. Awful 10min experience which is a pity as it would be a pub we would frequent a bit when in town….possibly never again.

21/12/2025: Great vibe, bar staff very good but one was rude verging on obnoxious. Definitely tainted our experience and quite disappointing.

06/01/2026: Had the cauliflower steak and some sides at a birthday party staff were great especially the man who took the orders and the other fella who brought out the cake food was top class

04/01/2026: We went here for dinner and the food itself was fine. The restaurant was very busy, which can often be a good sign, but unfortunately the staff seemed too rushed to really pay attention to the guests. My main issue came when we paid. We paid by card, but the waitress did not give us a receipt. I immediately felt something was off, as it seemed like the amount charged was higher than what was on the bill. When I asked to see the receipt, she only handed me the bill again and somewhat cheekily asked if there was a problem. When I later checked my bank account at home, I discovered that a 10% tip had been added without my consent. I was very surprised that this could happen. It’s not about whether I can afford to tip or not, but adding a tip without asking the customer feels dishonest and unacceptable. Because of this experience, I can only give the restaurant a low rating. I hope management will address this internally and reflect on how their customers are treated
