07/09/2025: This is a lovely hotel in the town of Mullingar. Very well situated. It's like a tardis. Looks small from the front, but is big inside. Foyer, bar and dining room. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Parking at rear of property is gated and feels secure. Room we had was quite small but very well equipped. We stayed one night, but if we stayed longer I would have asked for a bigger room. Breakfast was included in price and was very good. Plentiful. We ate in the bar on the evening of arrival and the food was good. Value for money and the staff where attentive. Would recommend.

24/07/2025: Great place to explore the Dingle Peninsula.
Clean hostel with a shared kitchen.
The pub is right outside, and Sean and Fiona are very welcoming.
If you like, you can get breakfast from the pub instead of self-catering, but we didn't take advantage of that.
You can swim in the Atlantic Ocean in front of the pub (we saw several swimmers, even though the water was too cold for us).
Highly recommended.
23/07/2025: Nice pier side bar, good selection of food and beers.
Good service with nice seats outside.
Veggie soup was very good, decent fish and chips and a very good juicy burger.
Lovely spot with a nice hike on the doorstep and great beaches and pier.

The one thing I'd change is the sound system in the place, it's tinny and echoes. A new Bluetooth speaker would do the job.

27/10/2025: The Irish food at this pub was amazing! We had been out exploring all day and wanted a good warm meal on a chilly Irish fall day when we got back into town and this pub certainly filled that need! The wait staff and manager were very attentive and the locals were so friendly and pleasant to speak with! They were also super accommodating of our 7 month old!

03/10/2025: I can only agree with the hotel restaurant, which I've never tried. The atmosphere is welcoming and decidedly Irish. After a brief period of confusion, a young Italian (in Ireland) with immense talent returns to manage the kitchen, and he will surely be able to bring this splendid Northern Ireland restaurant to life!
29/09/2025: We went to this restaurant recently .it was such a wonderful meal. Starter main course and dessert..we were on weekend break and really struggled finding anything that was more that overpriced food in this area but this restaurant saved our whole weekend. The wine was also good.i must also compliment the lovely staff too..DONT MISS THIS WONDERFUL GEM .LOVELY EXPERIENCE

07/10/2025: the inside is very pretty and overlooks the river! i went in as part of a small group of 3. we did not have a good experience.. :/ we wanted to order some of the desserts offered as we did not want full meals, and were told "this is a restaurant, you should order food." i found this baffling, but we ordered 3 different appetizers and were met with just overall... mid food. i ordered the side salad, and my companions ordered the crisps and the croquettes to share. the side salad included very very bitter leafy greens with a light lemon dressing (which was the only redeeming part of the dish) we declined to order dessert afterwards, the service was hardly friendly or "accommodating." not worth the price :////
04/10/2025: Service was via the invisible waitress. The manager couldn't care less. He was most concerned with informing me that they had no Guinness. I had the lamb that was tasty but extremely hard to chew.

26/08/2025: What can I say about this place? It’s fabulous. The food was wonderful and the old country atmosphere is what we all come to Ireland for. Some places have and The Old Ship Inn has it. They have a picture tucked away above the transition between eating areas that is a last supper rendition with the queen of Hollywood class Marilyn Monroe flanked by the Hollywood greats of years gone past. You go to this pub for the nostalgia of older Ireland. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Take your time, there is no rush to go anywhere.
