11/09/2026: We visited early on a Thursday evening. The food was fine, but my friend and I were surrounded by really loud, raucous large groups. It was so noisy we couldn't hold a conversation or hear the waitress. We left after one course.

06/09/2026: Booked dinner for 7 for a 60th birthday celebration. Every starter, main course served was 5 stars. The staff went above and beyond. We brought in a cake and balloons for table and they were so accommodating. Start to finish, good service, good atmosphere and at a reasonable price.

10/09/2026: Stopped for a Pint. Cool pub near Cliffs. Friendly young lady served is our 🍺 and we enjoyed a break from travels back.

08/09/2026: Passing through the area, we stopped for a bite to eat and a beer. We were seated quickly and received a very warm welcome; the service was fast despite the crowd, and the servers were very pleasant. The food we ordered was excellent. This place is full of life and joy; we had a wonderful time. Thank you so much!

04/07/2026: Arrived with big family group, brilliant service, fantastic service, kids had selection of pancakes. Good coffee and huge portions (rare these days)

27/06/2026: We had a fantastic lunch here today. Coffee was beautiful aswell. Free lunch plate of fruit and vegetables for our 9 month old baby was really appreciated. Great spot and definitely a place to stop in while you're in Gorey.

05/08/2026: We loved this place! The owner of the restaurant sat us and helped out the staff immensely. He is a wonderful person to talk to! Dinner was tasty and dessert hit the spot!

19/07/2026: Nice meal here. The lobster was delicious, the steak was slightly overdone for medium. Did think the childrens menu was expensive. The restaurant is lovely though and staff very good.

03/09/2026: Let's talk about the turkey and ham lunch. I never know turkey can taste so juicy and soft. The turkey and ham are sliced thick, so we get a good bite in every mouth! Gravy is rich. I would say the whole dish has a rustic and traditional taste. Best of all we got 3 scoops of mash potatoes! We got croquettes instead of the usual roast potatoes. Honestly, blissful after a full meal here. Definitely living up to its name as a family restaurant. We also had the tuna melt, felt like they put a whole can of tuna for the sandwich. Bit more than 16euros for the turkey and ham, definitely bang for the buck.

01/09/2026: Absolutely loved The Junction. The apple pie with warm custard and ice cream was proper comfort food — homemade, generous and absolutely delicious. Exactly the kind of dessert you hope for when you order apple pie. Great food, warm and fast service and a lovely atmosphere. One of those places that just does the simple things really, really well. Five stars across the board and well deserved!

23/08/2026: Spent a few days doing some volunteer work, today was our journey home. We decided to take things easy, reward ourselves and who could ignore the beautiful weather. A visit to Spike Island, meant that we had to plan lunch nearby. I remembered Bramley Lodge from when I lived in Cork almost 20 years ago, Google, menu looked good. So I rang and booked a table for 3. It had changed and expanded since I was last there. Outdoor seating areas, some covered, others just with parasols. Bigger carpark. Seated with ease, glasses and water on our table closely followed by amazing menus. We had cheated and looked online during our morning drive, the menu lived up to form. My 2 amigos had already chosen before I had completed the phone call to make the booking. The Food. Seafood Chowder, main course size: "If you can see many different seafood (and several are almost attempting to climb out of the bowl" That's a really good chowder. When the diner is using the crust of the homemade brown bread to clean the bowl. Well.... Pasta, of course I bring someone who lived in Italy for over a decade, and at 10am in the morning I'm being asked about the pasta. (I'm still hoping that we can get a table.) So I can with confidence say, from the guy who lived in Italy, "that is one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had, right up there with my favourite Rome and Italian meals . Me, I was just busy, finding somewhere to eat, making sure we made it the boat on time, trying to find free parking. Well you know you have done it. I had to read the menu. As a retired chef, I do read the small print. I was still undecided, because there were so many options that I wished to taste. But waiter taking the order, I opted for the Seafood Skewers, not just something I had never tried before, something I had not seen on a menu before. Well I offered my compatriots would you like to taste, before I even tried myself. They declined. They did not get a second chance. I realised as I was finishing my delicious food that all three of us, ate our meal, together, without the need for conversation. Excellent food, form my memory, it was great, today, I'll make it simple, We all 3 will be back.

13/08/2026: We stopped by to get acai bowls. It took a bit of time to make them but we thoroughly enjoyed them! The lady at the till was very friendly and welcoming. There were nice little cards and local produce to buy there as well

19/08/2026: Have to give today’s experience a negative review. I have visited Mountaintop Diner before and had a good meal. Today unfortunately was a bad one. We arrived just after the lunch rush so it was not too busy. Lunch order was a bowl of soup and a lunch special, goujon wrap. Waited 40 min. for these 2 items. Veg Soup was terrible. Goujon wrap had 1 piece of chicken. Wrap was barely filled. Was given a 10% discount because of the inconvenience. Won’t be returning.

16/08/2026: What you would expect in a "diner" type setting. Nice busy spot with lots coming and going. Good food, good choices, but nothing to OTT fancy. Burgers, Sambos, curry, pasta, a broad mix

11/06/2026: Stayed here for 2 nights and couldnt be happier with picking this place. We were debating between a few options and am so glad we went with this B&B. The town is just large enough to have a bit of anything you are looking for, but small enough that it has quite the charm, is easy to walk to every store, and is quiet in the nights. The B&B room was fantastic with a very comfy bed and the rooms also came with complementary water bottles. Breakfast was freshly cooked every morning. Shauna was very personable and gave us tips for our adventures including which way to drive to experience other activities and what to do to make the most of our want-to-do list. The only challenge was the parking lot, which is immediately to the left to the lodge. It's very small with one way in and out, and it's difficult to see incoming traffic when leaving. However despite this all, we didn't run into any problems. Sheena also offered that if we ever came back and didn't see any spots to let her know and she would move her car, as well as offered an alternative nearby option to park our car. Thrilled with our entire experience here.

11/06/2026: What a great place!! We spent a couple of days here. Everyone from the start were so friendly, casual, cool, yet efficient and on it! Great food, great service and a great pint of Guinness. Off street parking at the back, accessed down the left side of the building and room for maybe 9 or 10 cars. Shauna and team were a delight! We'll see you guys again!! Five stars all day long ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

10/07/2026: Easily the best meal we had on our trip through various towns in Ireland. The food was amazing and the waitstaff and owner were so kind and accommodating. Cannot recommend highly enough!

01/09/2026: A very nice restaurant with very friendly waitresses. The service was quite quick, the dishes simple but very good value for money. I really liked the homemade bread and the trout was good quality. Perhaps a shame that the sandwiches are served with crisps, but at that price it's acceptable! The vegetable soup was good. We were there during a podcast recording in Irish; it was nice to see all those people. They sell beautiful and inexpensive cards (€3). Great for supporting artists!

12/09/2026: A group of 12 of us had dinner here tonight. The atmosphere was convivial, the food options were diverse and everything tasted great. The service was exceptional — very attentive.

10/09/2026: We went there on the recommendation of our B&B owner. It was fantastic – the food, the service, everything. The quality was amazing, and we can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
