03/10/2025: Excellent. Very pleasant and interactive staff. Rooms were top class, very clean, spacious and warm. Would highly recommend.

12/10/2025: This is a hard one. The ambiance was great. All but one of the servers were excellent. However, one clearly shouldn’t be there and her body language and lack of warmth made her stand out. The wine list was disappointing but we found a diamond in the rough. The menu was deep with tantalizing options. However little details in the dishes were lacking and taste didn’t match the visuals as much as expected. Our lamb dish was a miss - undercooked, tough and little taste. But lots of positives - starters and dessert were good. They also were very apologetic for the lamb shortfall. But it was a little hard to reconcile how some of the details could fall so short with a highly acclaimed restaurant that should’ve wowed but didn’t. I would try it again just to see if it was just a one off or the King really doesn’t have any clothes.

18/10/2025: Rude owner bought some stuff from her shop the a few days ago i gave her €20 and when it came for her to give my change i held out my hand which she clearly saw and passed it by and dropped the money on the table lile i had a disease never again.

16/10/2025: We absolutely loved our visit to Ann McDonald’s Café & Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we could tell this was a special local spot. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of friendly faces — always a good sign when you see plenty of locals enjoying their meals. Everything is made fresh daily — Ann and her team even cook their own ham each morning. The traditional toastie with fresh baked ham and vegetable soup was simply perfect — flavorful, hearty, and comforting. You can truly taste the care and quality in every bite. We had the pleasure of meeting Ann McDonald herself, who personally brought our food to the table. She has owned and operated this restaurant for over 30 years, and it shows in every detail — her hospitality, pride, and the homey feel she’s created. She made our family feel completely at home, like we were visiting old friends. The location is also ideal — just a quick 5-minute walk from the Dunwoody Ship Experience, so it’s a perfect spot to stop for lunch before or after your visit. Ann’s restaurant is everything you hope to find when traveling — authentic, welcoming, and absolutely delicious. We could not recommend it more highly!

03/10/2025: Lovely atmosphere and while my dish (surf and turf) was ok, my mother ordered the most spectacular wild caught fresh cod with a prosecco and Chive cream sauce! There were many fabulous items to choose from; just regretted my order. Napkins and cutlery were flimsy and canteen like which was suprising. Food and ambience made up for these little shortcomings.

23/09/2025: Had a lovely night here. A very welcoming place. Really made feel so comfortable. Only a few mins to wait before getting table Had previously booked. A lovely atmosphere, a little dark but the candle effect was beautiful and made it feel romantic. A beautiful selection on the menu. Delicious and hot. Great flavours. Great comadary amongst the Staff. Asked us on more than one occasion was everything good. Toilets spotless. Will be back. Highly recommended.

15/09/2025: This charming little restaurant was amazing. The baked brie and pil-pil shrimp were outstanding. The range of wines by the glass could benefit from expansion. Overall, it’s a great place with delicious food and very friendly staff.

15/08/2025: We ordered the taco fries and lasagne. I was very impressed with the large portion size and the taco fries were marvelous. The interior was pretty and baby facilities were decent. Staff were helpful.

12/10/2025: We were staying in Dooagh and happened upon The Valley House. Stayed for a few pints and a chat. Absolutely class place, extremely friendly service. We'll check out the accomodation and food on our next visit.

30/09/2025: What a wonderful find on Achill Island! A hidden Victorian house by the sea. A grand estate with a tiny Irish pub in the back. A must visit! The hostel was very well furnished and a comfortable night’s rest. I was very impressed! Breakfast was very generous and a wholesome stay.

02/10/2025: Lovely bar with a spot to sit for everyone. We came for the good food and live music. If you have the chance, make sure to see Anthony Roche. He is an absolutely amazing musician and kind person. He was our favorite musician we saw during our time in Waterford. The restaurant area is cozy and the food was perfect!
