Food below average Staff especially the bar and servers are hopeless A family of 4 has breakfast 2 ppl get there breakfast the other 2 get there breakfast after the first 2 has eaten it . Toast given at the very end when no food left Slow lazy sloppy service all done with attitude The rooms are just above a maldron This hotel is getting by attacking itself to the fota wildlife park which is well worth avoiding. This is not a 5 start hotel .they have a man on reception 24 hrs who would never open a door for you .mind boggling. The pool u book in then go and the ignorant staff ignore you .At the pool there is like 3 ppl in it .makes no sense Never again Sub standard on every single thing Hallways so loud and noisy all night and from 7am . Try ring down to ask qs....nobody answers the phone .just can't get over this place. Shameful. The rooms are shabby and tired Huge tv and 70 percent off the channels don't work. The pool area has random ppl walking round in street clothes and runners walking around a pool .absolutely ridiculous Everyone on mobile phones and taking videos while ppl in the pool Disgraceful hotel

27/10/2024: Just had a really lovely Sunday lunch at Befani Restaurant. Staff are top class and food was brilliant as usual. Can highly recommend this restaurant.

12/10/2024: Went for a meal here on 10/10/24. We chose the Tapas selection to share. All were superb, cooked to perfection, and well presented .The waiting staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. Very good value for such a lovely meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and are looking forward to our next visit.

31/10/2024: Best Garlic Bread EVER! Came to visit Cork County - never thought I would accidentally find the best Garlic bread and burger! I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone traveling through or staying in Clonakilty. Service was great and they were all very friendly!

03/11/2024: Really nice restaurant, decor etc. Food was nice however my fillet steak, which was a good size, was over cooked. I asked for med to well done but it was well done. There were plenty of waiters/waitresses about and service was quite quick however I was never asked if my food was ok as I was waiting for the opportunity to mention about the steak. The restaurant was busy and I would return again to give it another go. Back again, this time my sirloin steak was cooked perfectly and the service was very good. There were five of us at our table and everyone was impressed by the quality of the food and the service. Definitely worth a visit.

11/10/2024: We arrived as this place opened (they don't take reservations) and the place filled up quickly. Alice served us and was really nice. We had no complaints about the pizza. It's a chill and relaxed place and everyone was very friendly.

30/10/2024: The staff were very friendly but the food was very poor. I got the burger. It was dry and tasteless. Chips were nice but had only a handful. Had a nice experience overall but let down by the food. Won't be back any time soon.

18/05/2024: I was at the hangedmans restraunt today with my family. As I was sitting down having our dinner I over heard a horrendous conversation with the owner of the restraunt. The owner was shouting at a woman from what I understood was not her fault at all as someone with her had canceled a booking, the owner then went on to tell the woman to f***off and to leave. Another man then came up to tell the owner that this wasn’t right or talk to a woman like that, and his response to the man was f*** off aswell, totally inexcusable behaviour and should not shout and use vulgar language to a woman. I said it to him when paying for our bill that I would be leaving this review as I was disgusted with his behaviour. Do not come here unless you want to be shouted at or abused for no reason. The owner is a horrid man

11/10/2024: We were celebrating as a family and were looking forward to sampling the Locks menu as we had heard great things about it. I booked online and put a credit card down to secure the booking. The lady on arrival was a little cool and said we were too early so directed us to the bar. The man behind the bar was busy but acknowledged us and welcomed us warmly. We were directed to our table in the middle of the room and when the waiter took our order he wasn’t very friendly at all. We ordered a €50 bottle of organic prosecco, a soft drink for our daughter, 8 oysters, 2 main courses and 4 small plates. He said in a surly manner that the restaurant policy stipulated that we must order 1 main per person, so we therefore needed to order another main course. We explained that our daughter wasn’t hungry enough to order another main but he kept insisting it was the restaurant policy and he said every restaurant in Dublin is the same. We calmly and reasonably explained that we didn’t need an extra full meal and felt we had ordered a lot. He finally said he would need to check with management and left us to discuss. He came back after a few minutes and said he was willing to take a third order of a starter (15) rather than a main course (35). We didn’t want to make a fuss as it was a special night but felt we had to mention it here as it seems a bizarre policy. Our bill was €210 in the end and the food was delicious but I feel fair in saying we shouldn’t have been forced to order an extra meal when we were ordering so many extras. It was a shame as it could’ve been a truly special night but left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth as the waiter made us feel we weren’t really welcome there. Perhaps a minimum spend would make more sense?
