19/03/2026: Visited Lakeside Manor today, lovely location and food was brilliant. Although the place is beautiful the staff lets this place down unfortunately. We had a lovely waiter at the start and then a woman continued the service for the rest of the evening. We asked for drinks, she could not have been any more rude and we felt uncomfortable from her responses. We were given no cutlery or basic condiments. When we asked for some, we were walked away from with no acknowledgement. As people who work in hospitality we thought this response was absurd and it put a damper to our evening. We will still return as it’s a lovely spot and the food is great, however this could be worked on for future reference.

30/12/2025: Was ignored by staff when we went into their restaurant. Seated ourselves after being ignored after waiting for a few minutes for a table. Think everyone was local and got the impression we weren’t welcome by staff. Took a few minutes for someone to acknowledge us and bring a menu despite 3 staff members being there with a half empty restaurant. Once we finished food (19 euro for a burger with a soggy bun that was straight out of the packet and cold lettuce, raw onion and slice of tomato) we went to the bar to pay the bill. There was a bartender (dark curly hair with facial hair- he was the primary staff member that seemed to completely ignore us when we were just trying to give you some business) who was folding cutlery into napkins who we waited for him to acknowledge us but he didn’t so after an awkward minute of standing there we asked him could we pay the bill he said “I’ll be with you in a second”. He went to give the cutlery to a table and then walked off- his colleague came through by chance and took payment. Very strange atmosphere due to staff. Ate and left promptly.

09/06/2026: We really liked the restaurant; it was efficient, fast, and friendly. The food was good and plentiful, and the waitresses were nice. It was very busy on a Monday night, which speaks for itself. I found the prices very reasonable.

08/06/2026: There was a large group of us that visited from all over the world. The service was absolutely fantastic. The food all came out hot, well presented and on time. We didn’t have to wait long. Everyone said how good their meal was.

22/04/2026: Just back from there with husband and kids. Really really good place, food was delicious, kids meals were quite big, very reasonable prices and very tasty, I got Caesar salad and husband got the loaded potatoes skins, every thing was eaten, and it was all so tasty and price for all was very good value. Girl that served us was also so nice. Will be back!! ETA i have to say this place is gone downhill, I think they changed the chef, food is terrible, chicken wings were obviously lying there and then re heated because the meat was hard, husband got Guinness and it was really bad, we have tried this place a few times hoping it was a once off but no, awful so won't be back unfortunately.

23/03/2026: Staying with work in The West County Hotel and went for walk in Phoenix Park. Called in here for bite to eat and a drink on way back. first thing that strikes you is the interior is really nice and the pub has real character. Food was excellent with an extensive menu and staff were just nice people. Will definitely be back and would strongly recommend it. It's outside appearance doesn't prepare you for how nice it is inside.

05/06/2026: I've always liked this wee place but tonight was the first time I had eaten here since 2021. It wasn't particularly busy (just steady) but the staff are attentive (not pushy) and the food is good. I played it safe and had the steak burger with salad and skinny fries. If the choice is between the 'new' Orangerie in Da Vincis are coming down the road to Muff, I'll take the latter. (Plus it is always nice to see the bird carvings in the carpark.)

12/04/2026: One of my favourite places to drop in for a nice lunch/Dinner. First thing I noticed was comfortable seating area and good atmosphere, 2nd was great customer service, I have been in a few times over the winter when people were not in the best of humour due to cold rainy gloomy weather outside, however the manager has never failed to be friendly and good humoured and makes an effort to talk to everyone that walks in the door he is an asset to the business, the food is fantastic, very tasty, great to have parking outside too nice and easy access. This is a case of its not just the food, it's the people that make the business!

13/05/2026: We came for the set menu on a weekday and the restaurant was relatively quiet. Overall I enjoyed the meal and my personal favourite was the langoustine course, which was light and the langoustine was super fresh. The courses that I didn’t enjoyed was the fish with the prawn broth (v salty) and the main paired with the beetroot sauce and Szechuan pepper - somehow it over complicates the dish and the combination don’t work. One of the course was a round croissant served with some beautiful Irish butter - but again I’m happy with a simple good warm bread that could highlight the flavour of the butter .. instead of putting butter on a croissant that’s already made with a lot of butter.

04/05/2026: An amazing experience, superb tasting menu and paired wines. Impeccable service. The culinary highlight of our 10 day trip to the south and west of Ireland.

14/05/2026: My family and I rented a private room for a storytelling and musical evening - and had a special menu prepared for our group. The experience we had was outstanding in every respect. The servers were professional and welcoming from the start. They were also very accommodating to food allergies and substitutions we asked for. The main server Bev was truly delightful. She was so friendly and made the evening seamless - from appetizers to dessert. The food itself was fantastic including the Roast of the Day and the incredible Homemade Apple Crumble. Could not have asked for a better experience!

29/05/2026: Have been here a few times over the years for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinners. Is always really good; simple food really well made and packed with flavour. Outside is lovely when the weather permits, but inside is equally as nice. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable when asked any questions. Highly recommend. The bacon collar in particular is fab!
