06/09/2026: We love going to Ely for breakfast, drinks and food, so it was really disappointing to witness the service yesterday. An elderly couple sitting outside were being looked after so kindly by Michelle — she turned on the heater and made sure they were comfortable. Erik then came out, turned the heater off, and when we asked for it to be turned back on because the couple were freezing, he refused and said, “Can’t you see I’ve just turned it off?” We explained again that they were cold and just needed a few minutes of heat, but he dismissed it, said “It’s not that cold, they shouldn’t be cold,” and walked away. He never returned, even after 25 minutes. His mannerisms and attitude towards the elderly couple were genuinely shocking. It felt rude, dismissive, and completely at odds with the warm service we’re used to at Ely. It’s a shame, because we really do love the place — but this experience left us very disappointed.

25/08/2026: The wine and bites deals food components didn't appeal, but the standard menu eas great and thr wine list put of this World. Wr went simple as had a big day the next day, but I would definitely go back again

27/08/2026: 5/5. Stopped into 1837 Bar & Brasserie at the Guinness Storehouse and went for the pork belly from the Land menu, paired with a West Indies Porter. The pork belly was excellent — exactly the kind of rich, hearty dish you want alongside a darker beer. The West Indies Porter was a great match and probably made the meal for me. Plenty of flavour without overpowering the food, and a much more interesting pairing than simply going for the standard Guinness. Considering you’re eating inside one of Dublin’s biggest tourist attractions, I wasn’t necessarily expecting the food to be a highlight, but this absolutely delivered. Pork belly and a West Indies Porter. Hard to fault that combination. Service was prompt with a nice window view.

13/08/2026: Brilliant spot with wonderful staff they did not take card the night I was there but the bank machine was a 2 minute walk away. It was absolutely packed the night I was there on the mayo all Ireland win. But despite the pressure and sheer number of people demanding their attention for a drink all the staff were so polite and efficient.

26/08/2026: Visited here multiple times during our stay in Westport. Everything we tried on the menu was excellent, the beer was cold, good service. Steady busy but not packed and we never had issues getting a table. Will definitely go back when in the area.

15/09/2026: After a recent visit to Findlaters I was absolutely delighted with the experience. The premises is gorgeous, the staff were super helpful, friendly, attentive and pleasant. The food was well presented and really delicious.... What's not to love about Findlaters of Howth... We'll be back...

13/09/2026: Nice historical pub, expensive prices and was pretty busy, so all good for the cash register but I prefer quieter spots. Great views of the harbour.

28/06/2026: Sophie and Ruth and Millie and Zara were the most professional and fabulous servers on our weeklong trip to Portmarnock. We thoroughly enjoyed interacting with each of them on multiple days of our golf vacation. We wish them well and are so pleased that we had the opportunity to meet them. They are all genuinely lovely girls who are serving the best interests of this great resort!! Thank you very much!!!

22/06/2026: I tried to play golf with my GF, having booked 2 lessons slots and after showing up at the golf shop, we were told that we must be at the wrong place and the employee sent us to another golf club on the other side of Portmarnock. There, we were told that there is no way we're at the right place and were sent back to the golf shop. The employee was very unprofessional and demeaning, looking at us like we were crazy to think that we could play golf when we had our bookings confirmed. We tried to make the most of a bad situation, but the employee was very unaccommodating and acting like he was better than anyone else. We only wanted to play golf at a place where we had our time slots booked and confirmed. The employee did not feel bad for them having such a deceitful and scammy golf booking system. I felt bad after my interaction with the employee, that we wasted our time and money going there, and how our date was ruined because of it.

23/08/2026: Best place in town for sea bass with delicious sauce and vegetables. For us, it's better than the OOTD restaurant next door, which has a better reputation. However, as French people, a glass of rosé at 9 a.m. seems excessive.

16/08/2026: This is fantastic place in a lovely rural setting in Meath. My wife and I had plenty of meals here on numerous occasions 💯💯💯. They have live music events which are great for the Craic 🍻🥂🥃🍾🥩🍕. The staff are very friendly and hard working. You won't make a mistake by going to The Hatchet 5 ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️ all the way. 12/09/2026: We only had an hour to eat and we made it. The waiter was kind and with a sense of humour. We ordered a classic - fiśh&chips and pea puree. Fries and peas were OK, but the fish left a lot to be desired. The haddock is a very tasty fish, but surrounded by such armored breadcrumbs, it could not be cut. Aunty Lena must have had very strong teeth.
