13/08/2025: Good spot, splendid historic location, big free-parking lot, very good and couteous service-staff, and delightful food & drink experience. highly recommendable if you are in the Northern Galway area.

08/08/2025: A great restaurant, well located on the side of a road, easy to park. The waitresses were very pleasant and the meal was plentiful and very good. The service was fairly quick. For 4, with a beer and a cider, it costs 95 euros. Very reasonable. I recommend it.

12/08/2025: I made a reservation online and unfortunately I made a mistake and it was not confirmed. The effort was immediately reflected on the credit card which I showed to the person in charge. She turned us away with a smile. In my country, because hospitality is considered quite important, I would have expected her to have made an effort to serve us. It doesn't matter. All I can say right away is that the shop, being quite small and claustrophobic, black in color, had a stifling atmosphere with a strong smell of roast meat. You leave smoky. Maybe the food compensates. I won't know. Be well. -"Comment to the owner's response" - Dear, the one star is for your behavior and the stifling atmosphere. Not for food that I didn't have the "honor" to try. I mentioned it anyway. The fact that you respond regardless of what I write and insult me on top of that shows who you are. I attended today with a group of 5 people for dinner. I did not deprive you of money. I had heard the best things about your restaurant. You summarily kicked us out. I showed the Visa charge that seemed to indicate that there had been an attempt on my part to make a reservation. Instead, there was no attempt on your part to provide service. Be well and I have indeed learned my lesson... Again, I wish you the best!

07/08/2025: Super nice place. The pizza was fantastic, and the dishes were very unique. It's picturesque down by the river.

19/08/2025: Perfect spot for a perfect pint, lots of live music and great vibes! If you come in the summer, then you can enjoy it there, a lovely beer garden!!

18/08/2025: Nice little pub. Lovely pint of Guinness. We didn't eat here but enjoy our time the few times we were in.

10/08/2025: I am a fan of Paella, although I know by now to to order a Spanish dish in an Irish restaurant, I was hoping for some resemblance. Too little rice, too much and many type of fish mixed in, with some being smoked and messing up the taste completely. My partner got fish and chips, fish very wet and batter soggy, mushy peas straight out of can, wet and no flavor. Wine was good, service very good. But would not recommend as a good fish restaurant. Get a take away fish and chips and sit by the quay. Better quality and half the price. We went in not minding to spend extra for a better experience, but unfortunately despite good service and atmosphere, food was terrible.

16/08/2025: Compartimos un cóctel de gambas para empezar y fue excelente, gambas y langosta, muy bueno. Teníamos el filete de 8 oz y 8 oz ribeye y ambos eran excelentes, y sabemos bien filete y son exigentes! La guarnición de verduras salteadas era muy buena, la guarnición de espárragos con salsa holandsise y Gruyère derretido era excelente, perfectamente cocinado. Gran comida, tal vez elegimos cuidadosamente debido a las críticas anteriores, pero esta comida era muy buena, volvería, el ambiente era tranquilo, espacioso, no demasiado ruidoso, buena música de fondo y buen Servicio.

22/06/2025: I come here for beers now and then because they have a large selection. There are plenty of seating options including inside tables, outdoor spots and bar seats. A great place for large groups.

10/08/2025: Extremely ignorant staff member "ripped" the menu out of my hand after placing my order! Also a dog in in the cafe! Disgusting! Avoid!🤮

10/08/2025: A very warm welcome and good food, a change from a traditional pub. A big plus for the gluten-free brownie.

21/07/2025: Very highly recommended, especially if you love wine. We ate on two occasions last week , both nights were excellent Starters: Carpaccio - sweet , sublime taste. Not sharp Roll-Mops (sardines) - sharp , fresh as you would like it Chicken salad - tasty Mains: Syrian Lamb - cooked tender and medium . Melts in the mouth. Once of tastiest lambs I’ve had in a while. Pork Cutlet - nice Fresh Chicken - cooked tender Tomahawk Steak🥩- cooked medium ( pink) nothing left behind Wines: Bargylis ( Syrian Syrah) - full bodied Amarone ( Italian ) - mellow and deep South African Chardonnay - mellow , rich , excellent value We also bought whiskey , and wine to take home , so really very happy .

14/07/2025: We were alerted to the good food served here by a fellow boater on the Shannon River and we had to try it for ourselves. The food was excellent. Only 1 person serving but she was very capable, did not show any pressure and kept everyone fed!

15/08/2025: Was there today with my partner and youngest child (5) I found this little gem on Google and the reviews did not lie, friendly, helpful waiting staff and delicious food served quickly and at good value. As a chef myself I am really happy to recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back next year 😋 I had the garlic mushroom starter and beef and Guinness casserole, finished off with a rhubarb crumble, needless to say I was stuffed as was my partner and child, they also prepared dishes to take away for our eldest kids which was a great help. Keep up the good great work 👍

26/07/2025: Mientras estábamos en Irlanda visitando a la familia en Carlow, nos aventuramos y encontramos esta pequeña joya. Absolutamente impresionante fayre irlandés tradicional. Porciones muy generosas. Personal muy agradable. Excelente relación calidad-precio. Recomiendo encarecidamente el tocino asado en salsa de perejil. ¡Nos vemos de nuevo!

17/08/2025: Eating at this pub reminded me of awful Irish cooking from the 1990s. My wife couldn’t make it through more two bites of the burger. It was charred to a crisp and tasted like it came from a place like Costco. The garlic bread was smothered in mayo and scallions. My bangers and mash was nothing special either. The only thing stopping me from giving me this restaurant one star was the waiter top took the burger off our bill it was so bad.

06/08/2025: We didn't order food just a couple of pints. Service was good and they were gracious when we closed the pub down.

30/08/2025: Visited here twice and both times had a great experience. Beautiful place. The burger with BBQ brisket was top notch.
