04/01/2026: Really rude customer service from the staff. The drink was taken away while I was drinking it and the service was generally rude from the waiter, although the owner of the place tried his best to improve the atmosphere. I rarely give reviews, but I had to. The portions were huge and the food was quite good.

24/12/2025: Chicago here. Was there last week for a few days stopped in for dinner. Let us sit where we wanted. Great food. Gentleman who waited on us was great and friendly.

11/10/2025: Good price of €159 (October 2025) w/o breakfast for a twin room. Nice size of room, good bed linen, etc. the check in and check out was very quick too. Good parking space.

13/10/2025: The best pub in Kilkenny. Spent a few hours with some locals there. The best group and lots of fun. Best Guiness to be had there. Didn't eat there. Don't know if they have food.

28/12/2025: Amazing flavours from fairly simple food. We found here by chance one day after leaving the Newpark in Kilkenny, there was nothing suitable for my vegetarian wife on the newpark lunch menu. We have been back now 4 times despite living a couple of hours away. It's a real find. I love their vegetarian bruschetta (despite being a meat eater) the amount of flavour they get out of just goats cheese and pesto is amazing. I had their fish and chips on another visit, similarly top notch. My wife has had their vegan bruschetta (falafel and hummus) and mushrooms in cream sauce at another visit. They cater for our kids too. Myself and my wife both adore the lemon curd Eton mess.

06/12/2025: Full irish breakfast, was with wife and daughter we all enjoyed the food, large table in corner, staff very friendly and polite!

13/01/2026: Whilst visiting our Irish family over Christmas we decided to check out the very famous Durty Nelly’s which is located next to the formidable Bunratty Castle. In Ireland I have discovered you sit around in pubs and talk about the Guinness served within the establishment! It was a very decent pint here… but then again it serves 1000’s in a month and it’s been open since 1620 😉. As you’d expect the pub is completely authentic and very atmospheric frequented by what looked like fellow tourists whom like us were probably visiting the family over the festive period… The menu is a good size with plenty of Irish influenced dishes and veggie options. We ordered a Cajun chicken salad a burger plus the ‘famous’ chowder. The food arrived quickly, the portions were generous and both my buddies fell silent so you know it’s ’hitting the spot’ ! This pub is set up for large amounts of business, the style of menu and food reflects that in a really good way. We skipped pudding as by now we’d drank our fill of the delicious‘Black Stuff’ ! We were informed by a lovely waitress that the coffee came from a machine so we skipped that also… shame but understandable. The team were young, super friendly and efficient. Off we went into the gorgeous sunshine to discover what horrors lurk within Bunratty! Thanks team

14/12/2025: Spotless clean pub, and restaurant.. But the food is not good. The quality of the food is very poor, and certainly not worth what your being charged.. I have eaten better food from a chip shop .

19/11/2025: I came here with 27 people back in October. I am a guide and the group was booked in for a 2 course meal. The food was delicious, very fresh and full of flavour. The staff were fantastic, they really made us feel at home. John and his team were brilliant!

02/01/2026: This food here is michelin star worthy , first time I went I got steak medallions with Jameson pepper sauce on a bed of creamy mash , 5 STARS . Baileys coffee to wash it down , have been back countless times since , their fish specials are always great and always fresh

20/12/2025: Sometimes when I'm taking public transport between Limerick and Kilkenny, the bus is late arriving into clonmel; meaning id have to wait around town for a few hours. Usually I would be mad about this, but having an excuse to visit this café always almost leaves me excited to miss my bus

29/12/2025: It was quite busy when visited, just tried a Roast Chicken Sandwich. Not as much chicken as I feel it had a few months ago, but still an absolute pleasure to eat. Fresh bread 🍞, can't beat it.
