22/10/2025: Location was wonderful. the staff was very kind and tried to be as helpful as possible… Rooms were very outdated, extremely dusty/musty, beds very uncomfortable, Wi-Fi didn’t work half the time & AC was broken with inability to be fixed. The room also smelled terribly of a nursing home which did not dissipate at all with our windows open for two days.

21/10/2025: Such a great spot! I was visiting Galway for a few days with my family, and we could not have picked a better location. All the staff were so kind. Henrique at reception in particular was incredibly helpful and very fun to converse with.

19/02/2026: Perfect Breakfast/Lunch spot in Strandhill. I got the ham and cheese Toastie, and my girlfriend got the Korean chicken sandwich. Both were gorgeous, with very nice quality ingredients. We had to wait a little bit to get a seat. When we did get a seat it was beside the door which kept being left opened with the cold air coming in. Apart from that it was a perfect experience 😊😊

22/02/2026: Stayed about 2 minutes walk from here for the week and were desperate for it to be Thursday so we could try it. We were not disappointed because the food was so good! I had the beef and Guinness pie which was absolutely delicious and came with a great choice of sides, my partner had steak which he enjoyed and the kids meal was also a great sized portion and price. We had desserts too profiteroles and a sticky toffee pudding both of which were perfect ends to the meal. The menu is varied and has some really good choices, theres something for everyone. Staff were friendly and welcoming, prices were reasonable and the whole experience was lovely. Wish our stay was longer so we could come again!

21/09/2025: Very nice and cosy place. I ordered BBQ ribs and chips with glass of Merlot wine. Ribs were amazing: well marinated, soft and sweet. Banoffi desert was not too sweet and good. It was very delicious.

13/03/2026: Little out of the way gem between Claregalway and Galway, near the Rugby Club. Enlarged car park great improvement for stopping.

12/02/2026: Myself and my girlfriend go here when we go up to Galway, food is always excellent, staff friendly, and nice traditional Irish atmosphere, we’ve booked tables in the past but usually there’s no need, went with groups of up to 3 and got seating without booking

22/02/2026: I absolutely love the food here — everything is always delicious! But what really makes this place special is the excellent service. The girls from Tipperary and Chile are so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They truly make the experience even better. Highly recommend!

13/02/2026: I’ve spent two days in Strandhill and Sligo, and both days I’ve come to The Strand Bar. The staff is beyond helpful and are some of the more friendly personnel I’ve met during my trip to IE. If you find yourself in Strandhill, the Strand Bar is worth a visit! P.s. - Give the local beer a try!

08/02/2026: Called in on a whim after a day on the beach. Absolutely delighted with the service, the surroundings, the menu and the delicious food. Highly recommended.

14/02/2026: We came midweek and received a very warm welcome. The pub wasn't particularly busy, but the staff were incredibly attentive. The fish and chips was absolutely delicious! But quite a generous portion (don't eat too much beforehand or you won't be able to finish your plate). A pleasant atmosphere in a typical Dublin pub!

12/12/2025: I had a really gorgeous seasonal sandwich here today on freshly-made focaccia inside the very beautiful Powerscourt Centre. It’s always a good bet for a lovely lunch or stop for coffee and cake. Highly recommend!
