The Good House
Inagh
15/12/2025: Stopped off for lunch. Fresh food, excellent service. Very reasonable price.
23/11/2025: Service was really disappointing. Emily (in a tight blue blouse and blonde hair) rushed us, spoke sharply, and then handed me a container to pack my own main, when I asked can I take it home. which felt downright rude and unprofessional. Definitely not the level of service I expected.
Do better.

The Strawberry Field
25/10/2025: Quirky family run café. Pancakes to die for and easy to get lost looking at the beautiful sculptures and artwork on the site. Friendly and helpful staff
28/09/2025: The Strawberry Field restaurant made an extremely pleasant impression on me. This is a place where you want to return again and again. The food here is not just delicious - it is prepared with soul and love for detail. Each dish has its own unique taste, which pleasantly surprises, and the portions are quite generous. The service is at a high level - the staff is always friendly, attentive and ready to help with the choice of dishes or drinks. The atmosphere of the restaurant creates a feeling of home comfort, but at the same time this place has a special style and character. It is ideal for both a quiet lunch with family and for meetings with friends. The good price-quality ratio makes this restaurant even more attractive. I believe that The Strawberry Field is one of the best places in the area where you can get real pleasure from food, service and atmosphere. I definitely recommend visiting!

Lukers bar
Shannonbridge
05/01/2026: Great pub, lovely staff. Managed to get a spot out the back to stay in camper van overnight. Definitely recommend an will be back
28/12/2025: Such a lovely quaint village pub that is actually quite a large pub/entertainment venue with large function rooms to the rear , the pub allows campervan to park at the rear . The food is simply delicious and competitively priced , they had local artist music on the night we were there and they were very professional. The Guinness is simply creamy deliciousness, the bar is filled with locals all having good craic and telling their yarns . This is a very homely welcoming place to visit and I thoroughly recommend it .

The Rustic Inn
Abbeyshrule
07/12/2025: Stopped here on our way to Dublin for a Sunday roast. Helped by the manager, who was abrupt to the point of rudeness and generally unhelpful. Rest of the staff were friendly.
Food was terrible, with tough meat, unseasoned sides, uncooked potatoes.
09/10/2025: Rustic Inn sure has that good ambience with bar, eatery etc. You can have events here too but you must book early as it is in high demand. Free parking is available around and lots of access to nearby route.

Camden Kitchen
Dublin
26/11/2025: i could rave about this place endlessly! we came here for their early bird menu which was only €36 for two courses and €39.50 for three. every course we ordered exceeded my expectations completely! i absolutely loved their delicious ricotta gnocchi with squash and mushrooms, as well as the ox cheek which was very tender and melted in your mouth.
the restaurant itself is beautifully furnished, the perfect location for occasions and intimate dinners
26/11/2025: My daughter and I went there for the pre theater menu last night before a concert at NCH. We sat near the window upstairs and it was cozy and very comfortable. The two main courses ox cheek amd gnocchi just blown us away. Super scrumptious and very well presented. I highly recommend this place. I will be back for more.

Matt The Millers Bar & Restaurant
Kilkenny
06/01/2026: A beautiful pub in Kilkenny, both inside and out – right by the Nore Bridge with views of the old town and castle – large yet cozy, as everything is spread across several rooms.
The food was surprisingly good – far more than your typical pub fare, but truly hearty, home-style cooking prepared with love. I had the Clonakilty Chicken, for example (chicken roulade filled with black pudding and wrapped in bacon, served with well-seasoned mashed potatoes, fresh, delicious braised vegetables, and mustard sauce). The pub is justifiably proud of sourcing its produce locally.
Of course, they also have good beer and a really nice selection of whiskeys, which, as a Scotch fan, introduced me to the Irish variety.
When we were there, a duo was playing and singing Irish folk music (every evening from Sunday to Thursday), and they were really good – each of them played several instruments, so it was truly entertaining.
A highlight of our trip.
29/12/2025: Good food, good music, good atmosphere.

Kate Browne's Bar
Ardfert
14/01/2026: Kate Browne’s is exactly the kind of place you hope to find in rural Ireland: warm, confident, and quietly excellent. From the moment you walk in, it feels like a proper Irish pub should — cosy interiors, friendly staff, and that reassuring sense that food is taken seriously here. We came for a relaxed meal and left genuinely impressed. The menu balances traditional Irish comfort food with more modern, refined dishes, and everything we tried was well cooked, beautifully presented, and clearly made with quality local ingredients. Portions are generous without being heavy, and there’s something for everyone — meat lovers, seafood fans, and vegetarians alike.
The atmosphere deserves a special mention. It’s lively without being loud, welcoming without being touristy. You’ll see locals chatting at the bar, families enjoying a meal, and visitors who clearly did their research. It feels authentic — not staged.
⭐ Helpful tips for visitors
• Book in advance — this is essential. Kate Browne’s is very popular with both locals and tourists, especially at weekends and during holiday periods. Walk-ins are risky.
• Great stop if you’re nearby. Perfect if you’re visiting Tralee, Ardfert village, or heading to/from Banna Beach.
• Come hungry. Portions are generous, and desserts are worth saving space for.
• Family-friendly but grown-up enough. Suitable for children, yet still a lovely spot for couples or friends.
• Relax and take your time. This isn’t fast food — it’s a place to sit, talk, and enjoy the experience.
In short: Kate Browne’s isn’t just a meal stop — it’s a destination. If you want genuine Irish hospitality, excellent food, and a cosy atmosphere, put it on your list — just don’t forget to book ahead.
28/12/2025: A roast dinner for the ages. You'd think you would be sick of eating turkey and ham on the 28th December, but not here. God bless Kate Browne 5 stars.

The Locke
Limerick
16/01/2026: Great spot to have a pint with friends or solo even
15/01/2026: A good bar in a great location. Wide selection of drinks and a decent food selection. There were outdoor seats with a nice view of the river. They're currently undergoing renovations. We're sure they'll reopen by summer.
In the evenings, there's live music and even dancing.
In four years, it's never let me down.
Sometimes the smell is a bit heavy.
Suitable for large groups.

Aniar
Galway
01/01/2026: The food, mood, service, and everything else you'd expect for a fine dining establishment was there. But nothing blew my socks off and it was a bit on the pricey side. The most noticeable thing for me was the service because everyone was so friendly and accommodating for me as I brought my 6 and 8 year kids to dinner. The chef spent a few minutes at each able to chat with the guests too. This is a great thing but also maybe not so great if it is more memorable than the food.
24/11/2025: Amazing expierence. Highly recomend.
