09/09/2025: Nice pub, didn't have food, its very good by all accounts. Dog friendly which more pubs wirh beer gardens need to be.

14/07/2025: Great food, good beer, and friendly staff. Nice pub. Kitchen closed after 6:00 PM.

02/10/2025: We had our wedding reception at One The Waterfront in September and it was an amazing day for us and all our guests (110 total). From the first day we met Maurice to start planning, he was fantastic and no ask or request was too much trouble for him. He was very accommodating to what we wanted and gave us so much freedom to create our perfect day while also offering his experienced & valued advice along the way. The restaurant was laid out immaculately on the day itself and the food and service from Maurice, Graham and the whole team was second to none. Would highly recommend as a venue for a wedding or for any occasion as the guys know what they are doing and it's hard to find such a scenic space like it anywhere. Thanks again Maurice and all the team at One The Waterfront for creating a day that we'll never forget.

09/09/2025: We recently held a baby shower in One The Waterfront. When I say they exceeded all expectations! Maurice was a gem to deal with from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble. In fact, all of the staff that we dealt with were so helpful. But the real star of the show was the food, I can't stress enough how delicious the buffet spread that was supplied to us was. From sliders to salads, every single dish was carefully thought out and beautifully presented. I'll be looking for an excuse to have another event there.

26/10/2025: Good restaurant! They have a really good tomato soup and I ordered a good salmon! Everything was wonderful

11/09/2025: Gone to the dogs. Pre-COVID Avoca used to be a beautiful place to go to. It's gone down far down the hill on everything - food, once delicious quality is now tasteless, stale and overpriced. I've put up with it as a quick stop off, but today...the stuffy smell of old food, the flies in the restaurant, the awful new decor - dreary dark ceiling and lighting, and rotten little wicker chairs replaced the comfy ones. I've even had to bring back salad to their branch in Kilmacanogue as it was rancid, stored open air beside the butcher section. I don't know what they are doing, but a once treasured Irish gem is truly lost it's shine. Writing this sitting in my car with a takeaway tea that cost me €3.50 - the taste was so bad - didn't taste like tea, but metallic - a vending machine would do better - how do you store the boiling water and is that cleaned and with what? It's too awful. You're not Harrods, Avoca, the local petrol station does better, so price accordingly with the low quality you're doling out. #RipOffIreland

26/03/2025: Food was beyond fantastic. Honestly we were surprised that we had some of the best pasta we had ever had in this hotel restaurant in Tralee. The cannelloni was absolutely to die for. Drink options were varied and extensive. Would love to come back here if only for the food.

24/01/2025: Arrived at this restaurant after walking out of Gallys where we were kept waiting twenty minutes and still nobody came to take our order in an empty restaurant so left.Food was amazing and Service was excellent, very efficient waitresses who were friendly and attentive.Food was beautiful, steak sandwich was very tasty and nice to find a strip loin steak in my steak sandwich and not grizzle like some places ,Guinness was good ,my Partner had Chicken which she enjoyed and everything was served warm and fresh.The cheesecake desert was the only dull moment ,a bit tasteless and if not for the caramel sauce would have been brutal .Nice to come out midweek and get nice decent food and drink with proper service.Menu selection is far superior to Gallys with alot more choice and better value.

06/10/2025: After this wonderful place was recommended by several locals we decided to try it at last. Blue Serenade did not disappoint. The food was exceptional lovely flavours fresh and wholesome. Wonderful presentation. Great value for money. Easy parking. Peter who looked after us was so chatty helpful attentive as provided exceptional service. This place has exceptional reviews has a great reputation in the town for its service great food and ambience. Peter the owner treats everyone who comes through the door in a lovely courteous genuine and professional manner. A wonderful hidden gem in Castlebar.

12/10/2025: Visited here with my partner and baby. He ordered Lasagna, the lasagna was stone cold in the middle with hard cheese on top. We had to return it to the kitchen and he felt stomach turned so didn’t request new food. I ordered fish and chips, the chips were nice but the fish was slimy and wet, I thought this was normal as it was hot right through. I felt so sick shortly after my food for the whole night. So disappointing…. We also waited 30 mins for a menu my partner had to go twice and ask, also left waiting 5 mins on knifes and forks. Awful food and service.

20/10/2025: I recently stayed in Ballina Manor Hotel. Perfect central location, Rooms were spotless and both the beds and pillows were top quality. The En-suite was so clean it looked new. Reception Staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant staff were efficient and the food was to die for. I like my food and this was top quality. The night porter was on hand to let us back into the hotel at the early o' clock hours - there was no delays or waiting. Overall, a fabulous hotel in the Heart of Ballina. Couldn't recommend it enough. Will definitely stay there again.

20/10/2025: Ordered coffee, flat white and scone, given the scone and flat white and told coffee would be ready shortly, had to go back and ask for the coffee, not busy at the time, no apology, disappointed

30/09/2025: Just had soup and bread for lunch there and really enjoyed it. The food was good and I would have given 6 stars for the service if I could. I'm have some balance and hearing issues but the lady on the till carried my tray upstairs where it was quieter, without fuss - I didn't even have to ask. Without question, I'll visit again.

29/09/2025: Rooms were very basic. Window did not open and wasn't shutting fully and it was very windy outside which cooled down the room and the radiator wasn't working. There were spiders in the bedroom, the bathroom and in the halls. Breakfast was made to order, but you could only choose from 7 different things. The quality of the breakfast was mediocre and the "avocado toast" especially was a joke. Location directly by the sea was nice though. We only stayed one night

22/09/2025: The shower wouldn’t drain at all and we asked for assistance at the front desk (phones in the room to call down didn’t work) and they said they couldn’t help. Mind you, the hotel barely had any guests and they could’ve easily moved us rooms but didn’t. Don’t stay here since the only way to clean yourself is by using the bathroom sink

19/08/2025: Pizza House in Black Castle Navan were incredibly unprofessional in their response to my partner ringing them to check where our food was. They answered the phone and abused him, not letting him get a word in edgeways before saying they were cancelling his order. I think this is completely unacceptable from the restaurant. This is not the first time we’ve had an issue with them whenever we ring to order they are always exceptionally rude but to throw abuse down a customers ear for simply asking the whereabouts of our food that we paid for is beyond a joke.

15/08/2025: Great food. Really hot. But im coming on here too note that a woman that works he has gone above and beyond with her work. The lady has not stopped making sure everyone is happy. Cleaning up when shes not busy and always on the go. Asking everyone if we need anything. Very polite. I havent seen that tyoe of service in a long time. Fair play too her.

27/07/2025: Below average experience. The food is ok. Portion size is absolutely terrible. Been here a few times but the last time was the final straw. Came here one day when it was busy, was just popping in with 3 friends to get a pint and be ok our way. There was a few people looking for seats so I approached the bar and asked the guy (mid 40’s?) about just sitting at the bar for a pint and he was absolutely foul mannered. He said “why don’t you join the queue like everyone else trying to get a table in here” I love locally and this bar/restaurant is quite close to me, many occasions I choose to go elsewhere for food and drinks. In this day and age that behaviour is unacceptable That episode, along with the overpriced menu and small food portion sizes and that barman’s behaviour ultimately made my decision on the palace. Couple weeks later “the shack” came up in conversation with different friends suggesting places to eat; I shut it down. Funnily enough one of the people in the group said that they ordered food weeks earlier and the same guy was intimidating to her because she didn’t eat her food and was pushing for answers, she was hungover and explained nothing was wrong with it. Won’t be returning, and I’ll be telling others the same story.

18/07/2025: Great atmosphere, delicious food, great drinks, and friendly personable service. Wife and I visited Athlone from the UK and were so glad we came here for lunch, highly recommend.

27/07/2025: We had dinner here last night for my parents wedding anniversary. Everything was fantastic, the staff were all lovely and the food was great. The manager was very nice and the attention to detail was great. I would highly recommend this place

27/07/2025: Basic fare , mostly seafood menu, average pricing, friendly staff and bookings probably needed at peak as the restaurant not too big. People with reduced mobility won't have any problems.

26/08/2025: Very nice place to get lunch or eat a takeaway pizza in the evening. The service from staff was great, all of them very kindly. About the food, one day we got fish and chips and honestly was better than expected, not the same with homemade lemonade and ice tea, completely avoid order these. Another day we ordered few takeaway Pizzas around 9pm when every other place around is not serving food so they saved us.

23/08/2025: Ordered a salad and soup. Very little options for drinks, gin and tonic came in wine glass (couldn’t get much tonic in). Wooden cutlery ?! Food was ok. Perfect location on a lovely day. Seats outside and inside.
