02/03/2025: Had a beautiful meal, excellent service from our waitress and the owner/chef.
Pasta was cooked perfectly and the desert, a Tiramisu was the best I have had in Ireland.
Would highly recommend
31/12/2024: The owner gave a personal warm welcome. Very authentic and personable. Staff was lovely and attentive. Not to mention the food which was excellent! We had linguini with shrimps and salmon. Our dinner was one of the best we had during our trip.

06/03/2025: Fabulous venue for breakfast/brunch with very good service and plenty of room. Only gripe was that ordering was a bit of a palaver, there are QR codes on the tables which didn’t work so we had to gob up to the counter to ask for menus. Also make sure you sit upstairs as downstairs is very dark and dingy and the toilets are pretty basic.

09/03/2025: The bar food was lovely and had a great menu. We ended up going there three times; however, every time we went there, and this happened to every other table as well, the food always arrived before any drinks. Had to ask for water and where our drinks were. It took about 10 mins for the food to come out, which is brilliant; however, 10 mins after the food arrived, still no drinks. Had to ask staff every time for the drinks. I wouldn't say anything if this only happened once, but every time we visited, this happened; it also happened to every other table.
23/11/2024: Went with friends for coffee a couple of wks ago and meant to write a quick review here just to say it was very enjoyable with great service from the very competent Mairead. She’s friendly and great at her job. Went for a bite to eat this evening with two friends and the experience was very good again. The hotel was warm, with beautiful Christmas decorations up and the food was lovely and not over priced. All the staff were lovely.

We had to wait for ages for the waitress to take our order, the wait time for the food was ridiculously long as well and we never got our side salads, even though we asked the waitress twice. The food was definitely worth the price, never had such a nice salmon

16/10/2024: Extremely charming inn with an amazing breakfast and lovely garden (though we stayed a little off season for it). Well located to explore the Burren.

07/11/2024: Nos encantó este lugar! Fuimos allí a jugar a los dardos mientras bebíamos cervezas y eso es lo que conseguimos! ¡Hemos conocido chicos que jugaban con nosotros y nos sentíamos como si fuéramos parte de ello! ¡Un ambiente auténtico y tradicional!
Además, el camarero era adorable, Shane, y no se enfadó conmigo mientras gritaba demasiado 😅 (¡Estaba ganando! )

02/02/2025: Food like all supermacs can be very hit and miss. Any time I've been there lately the seating areas have been a mess. They are terrible for ignoring the phone, even when they are not busy. I have been hung up on plenty of times

08/03/2025: The food was good. The atmosphere is lacking. The owner behind the bar was very unfriendly. Not the typical Irish welcome you would expect in West Cork. For that reason I would not return.
28/01/2025: Had a really long week at work.. Decided to finish my week by going out for dinner and a glass of wine. Dinner was heavenly! We got starters and main courses and every thing couldn't have been more tasty or perfect!! Sitting at home relaxing now - still thinking about how amazing the food was!! I wish I could've taken better photos but I was just too impatient and hungry lol! Next time 😊

09/03/2025: Chef and owner don’t know what sourdough is. 31 euro for 4 pieces of monkfish and 4 prawns in a tomato soup dressed as stew served with commercial “sourdough” aka a slice pan.
Eaten there 10+ times in the past and always had issues.
Cost cutting in the kitchen at those prices. You’ll be found out.
03/03/2025: First Class. If you are going or near Clonakilty you cannot miss An Sugan. As a group of 14 attending a Backgammon competition in Clonakilty, I booked An Sugan. We have been in An Sugan several times before and is never fails to deliver exceptional food and service. All 14 of us thououghly enjoyed the food and ambience of this restaraunt. We as a groupd had a variety of starters, main courses and deserts, every single person complimented the food. I am sorry In never got the waitress name but she was so professional and polite. Upon arrival we were greeted by Denis who is a legend. Many thanks for making our night an enjoyable and memotable night. Thank you so much.

02/04/2025: Food and the restaurant itself is so good. Staff are horrible. Not getting drinks we paid for. Dinner was over a 30 minute wait. Orders been wrong. Staff just didn't care. There to have fun it seems then actually looking after the costumers.
31/12/2024: Family dinner 10 adults 5 children on 27th dec. the room was very cold and many items were not on the menu as hotel had been closed for 2 days. I am a pensioner and asked for half portion of curry, i could not eat full portion, but was told that the chef does not permit half portions. So i just took soup but, my mistake i did not ask the type of soup …. it was tomato soup which i could not eat! The other 9 adults were very happy with their food choice. I think that older people should be permitted to order smaller portions, rather than full portion and throwing out a lot of it, we should be encouraged to reduce food waste.
