The best restaurants

09/06/2026: Had a breakfast bagel, huge portion. So large I had to share. Prompt service, noticed a table of 6 and how good the staff were to explain the menu and deliver a huge pot of tea with their meal. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly, like a warm kitchen.

07/06/2026: Very nice food and where we sat was a place in the restaurant called “ the secret garden” was very nice the 1 though was I ordered a BLT but I got a ham and cheese sandwich I was a tiny disappointed but it was though and I ate it anyway despite this mis hap I would definitely come back

07/01/2026: I just popped into this café before work. It was my first time trying coffee there, but it was very high quality, a flat white, without the cappuccino foam ahahah. The coffee was delicious, and the interior was very, very beautiful. I walked in and could not resist taking photos, it was insanely beautiful! Will be back :))

05/05/2026: The guy that worked in the place was super polite. The food was fresh and tasted great. The sauces was all really great too. My only problem isn't really a problem but more of a preference I prefer homemade style fries over just regular fries. But besides that it was very good food will definitely eat from here again

07/07/2025: Came here recently for dinner based on word of mouth recommendations. Staff were friendly, and the food and drink tasted good. Choice was a little limited for non-meat eaters though.

05/05/2026: Lovely warm friendly staff. Had Calzone ham and mushroom. Not many mushrooms, very fatty ham for the bit there was. Was here before xmas, had same dish which was beautiful with generous fillings. A little disappointed this time. Still a lovely place to eat with a lovely ambiance.

27/04/2026: We were a table of five on Monday, April 20th, and we had a very good meal. We would particularly like to thank our Hungarian waiter, Bejar, for his thoughtful touches and kindness. The food was excellent.

06/05/2026: Oh dear. 4 cyclists. I bought the scones. 26e for 4 scones. Great scones. Very big and tasty but that is a shocking price.

20/04/2026: "Disappointing return visit today. I used to really enjoy coming here, but it feels like the maintenance has slipped—the tables and outdoor chairs are in need of a deep clean and some repair. I also found the portions to be quite small for the cost, and the coffee lacked flavor. It’s a shame to see such a nice spot lose its spark; I hope the management takes a look at these details to bring the quality back up."

30/11/2025: A bunch of work staff were here to celebrate ahead of Christmas. Had to pay a deposit in advance. Night before meal manager called the organizer to say the menu might be limited and the full menu not available. Despite all this we went ahead. Noise deafening from large group behind. However not the restaurants fault. The bread and dips were delicious. No charge. However the food prices were just too much. 22 euro for a chicken tikka masala? It was the only option I felt I had.. the chicken supreme was almost 27 euro and a colleague had it but it was tiny and dry. Disappointing but we had fun ourselves but overall I don’t think I’d go back.

28/10/2025: We went there for a drink without going to the restaurant. The bartender is very professional and friendly, and the pub decor, dating back to 1781, is worth seeing. The Guinness is particularly delicious, and that evening there was a Latin music trio with Felip & the 2 Eddies—the icing on the cake!

14/04/2026: The bangers and mash here was by far my favorite meal that I've had in Ireland so far. The gravy, the vegetables, the mash all of it was beyond amazing!!

26/05/2026: I'm all about finding good seafood in Ireland and you can't go wrong with The Eagle's Seafood Linguine and the Cod with veggies in Dun Laoghaire. Definitely delicious, large portion and very clearly well made and presented. I will be back for more.

22/05/2026: I booked The Eagle over a month ago for 9pm this evening. I specifically booked The Eagle as they had a table at 9pm and I had visitors flying in so we couldn’t eat earlier. A few days ago they asked me to confirm my booking which I did. Imagine my shock when today at 3pm they called me to tell me they’ve changed the hours of the kitchen and could I come in at 8pm. I explained why that wasn’t feasible, this meant I now had no venue for my guests, their attitude was that it wasn’t their problem. I asked why they were only giving me six hours notice and they admitted that they should have informed me days (if not weeks ago). Whilst they apologised they made no effort to make amends for their unreasonable conduct. I am a local resident. I have booked The Eagle for food reasonably regularly. I even booked it every December for a large party (14-18 people) but I shall no longer be using it as I see how unreliable they are. Big shout out to Benitos in Dalkey who have found us a table last minute, we are very grateful to you. Edit: I just looked at the booking system for The Eagle. You can still book tables up to 9.15pm which makes me wonder did they lie to me or have they not updated their website.

21/08/2025: Fantastic hidden gem of a bakery with lovely, friendly staff. Tonka bean pasty is absolutely sensational

10/08/2025: Excellent pan o chocolate and they use jersey cow milk in the tea and coffee.
