The best restaurants

25/08/2026: Won't be back I'm afraid. Unfortunately discovered dead ants in a vinegar bottle after it had been poured on our food. Photo attached. After bringing this to the attention of staff we did get a new portion of chips (though our other food got colder while waiting). We were not offered any discount on our bill so we certainly won't be back.

16/07/2026: Highly recommend! The coffee, salad, and staff were all amazing. We popped in for a takeaway oat flat white and the chicken avocado salad, then enjoyed them on the green across the way. The coffee was divine, the salad was delicious, and the girl serving us was so kind and accommodating, especially as we had our newborn with us. It was definitely worth the visit, and we’ll be back to try more of the menu!

04/12/2025: An Exceptional Stay, Made Perfect by Outstanding Service I had the pleasure of staying at The Brehon Hotel & Spa on Monday, 1st December 2025, and the experience was nothing short of amazing from start to finish. The standout element was undoubtedly the incredible service. A huge thank you to Bojana, whose support was truly above and beyond. From assisting seamlessly with my check in to ensuring every detail of my stay was perfect, her professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness made a significant difference. It’s staff like Bojana who transform a great hotel into an exceptional one. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the spa facilities are in a league of their own. Without a doubt, this is the best SPA facility I have ever experienced. Every aspect was pristine, calming, and of the highest quality, providing the perfect retreat. My stay was an absolute delight, and I left feeling completely rejuvenated. I cannot recommend The Brehon Hotel & Spa highly enough and look forward to returning in the future. Thank you for a memorable experience.

07/09/2026: A mixed review of this hotel. Starting off on the positive side, the food in the bar and the breakfast after the stay was first class. One of the best breakfasts I have had. The hotel decor is fabulous and its clear to see a lot of investment has been made in this hotel. On the down side, the things that let the experience down were, the lack of parking facilities. While on street parking is available we had a bit of a walk with the bags and cases. The room was well laid out, but USB changing sockets beside the bed would have been a nice addition. To have a shower, I had to step into the bath, which was your standard bath. I think a walk in shower would have been much better use of the space. We found a dirty towel on check in which was replaced when we called reception. Unfinished paintwork around the bathroom door frame, a small miss but a miss just the same.

04/08/2026: Went for brunch having taken part in Clonakilty parkrun. Food and drinks are excellent. Sat outside, great service and a popular spot.

11/07/2026: Adorable shore-side trailer, with a view of the bay and delightful baristas! Try the açai bowl (especially if you are visiting from big US cities - fresh fruits you will not find back home!)
