The best restaurants

25/08/2026: First time to visit on Saturday the 22nd August. Food was delicious, good service, reasonable prices and lovely surroundings My niece sampled sushi 🍣 for the first time and loved it. Will definitely return.

16/08/2026: We arrived at 4:00 PM, quite late for lunch. Despite this, several tables were occupied. We were offered a nice table for two and immediately received complimentary water and shrimp chips. Our food was prepared extremely quickly: stir-fried vegetables with tofu and duck with pineapple. Both were delicious. The duck could have been a little crispier, but it wasn't deep-fried! The young men who served us were very friendly and attentive. As we left, the restaurant was filling up. It seems to have a good reputation.

22/08/2026: Popped in for a quick bite to eat while on the road. Excellent place to go!!! Great value, great service and immaculately clean!!! Highly recommend and only a few seconds off the main road

18/08/2026: First time eating there recently and a great experience. Food was very tasty, good quantities and service was very efficient. Nice desserts and coffee and a good drinks selection.

10/09/2026: We loved this place! My husband had the steak dinner special and I had the fajitas. Both were excellent.

05/09/2026: Good food! We had the chicken curry and the crispy chilli chicken. Crispy chicken was not crispy but curry was pretty good! The brownie is great!

02/09/2026: I track calories, so I used an app to find this place. The coffee with its creamy foam fit my daily total and tasted great. The outdoor seating area is simple and quiet.

22/08/2026: Anna and Lorenzo are fantastic and so friendly! You have to stop by for a classic Italian aperitivo!

16/07/2026: France Spain game was starting so had to stop for Ashford to watch the game. AI recommended this place. Was good place to watch the game and have a pint before we continuing the journey. No food here btw. Not sure if new thing as earlier reviews showed some meals.

27/05/2026: A charming old historic hotel full of character and authenticity. It is very centrally located right in the heart of Clifden, which naturally means there can occasionally be a little bit of street activity already early in the morning. However, the unique location and atmosphere more than make up for it, and the prices are very reasonable and fair. We especially enjoyed the breakfast — the homemade plum compote and homemade apple compote were absolutely delicious. The hospitality from the entire team was excellent, and we felt very well looked after throughout our stay. We were very satisfied and would gladly return.

21/05/2026: The room and bathroom were spacious, very clean, and warm. There were plenty of breakfast options, and the restaurant was excellent with friendly, attentive service. Highly recommended!

26/08/2026: Nice little place with great coffee and pastries, but why ask for tip from customer for a takeaway ? I know it is up to the customer to tap the no tip button, but it puts them in an uncomfortable spot when the cashier is waiting for payment to complete. Most people would tip out of awkwardness and wouldn't want to return because they felt so.

11/08/2026: Good coffee and a snack for a break in down town of Portlaoise. The place is nice and if the weather is good, staying outside is great to feel city's vibe.

22/07/2026: I can't fault this place, very nice staff, lovely food, nice atmosphere not too pricey for a small family, food presented very appealing they must have a great chef or two and location is great. Plan to return.

14/07/2026: First time in here and loved it, food was fantastic and plenty of it, better priced than most other places these days. Staff were very nice and friendly. Nice atmosphere here too. Pint of Guinness was lovely. I would definitely return again here. I don't ever give 5 stars because nothing or nowhere is ever perfect so 4 stars is top from me.

03/09/2026: Fantastic bar in the Hotel, all the staff are ultra friendly, great place to go for a pint and a bite.

07/05/2026: It is a nice restaurant. The temperature is good, it's always warm. The food is fresh and the portions are nicely sized. It would be nice if one of the waitresses smiled more. Also, when eating burgers, it would be nice if they brought gloves. It would be cleaner and easier to consume.

09/08/2026: Was here when on holidays ,this became our go to place for evenings. Staff so good ,shack out back for food ,great pints , music some evenings which was great. Great outside space too .
