The best restaurants

22/03/2025: There were four of us there last night. We had different things for main courses, and they were all great. The other three ordered things straight from the menu . . . . For the main course I ordered the starter of Goats Cheese Salad , and two sides, chips and roasted vegetables. It was unbelievably beautiful. Although I have been going to different restaurants around the country for 40 years, this is the most delicious meal I have ever had. . . . . They had no problem providing me with something different, even though it was not on the menu. And the prices were very reasonable.

11/03/2025: We recently availed of the private event space for my daughter’s christening. We had 40 adults and 15 children. The space was perfect for us. The kids could move about playing without any worries and there was still plenty of room for everyone to sit and chat. Having a private bar was a big plus. We had a buffet meal (kids and vegetarians catered for also) , which was very tasty and plenty of food for everyone. Desserts weren’t an option but there was no issue with a delivery from another local company arriving earlier in the day. Access was also given for a balloon company to decorate before we arrived. Large screen tv and full sound system for music. We had a kids entertainer join and there was plenty of room for her to set up. Staff were friendly and so accommodating. Plenty of parking. Will definitely be back for our next big celebration. Highly recommend.

04/09/2024: stopped for coffee and breakfast after a nice run along the banks of the adjacent entrance canal. the bake house is located in an idyllic setting, close to the banks of the canal. We ordered some coffee and some granola pots for breakfast. The food was tasty and filling service was excellent and the coffee was also very good. This is a perfect spot for a stop off for some cake coffee or breakfast.

07/04/2025: My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Danny Minnies in Donegal, and I can't express enough how wonderful our experience was. The warmth and care we received made us feel like we were part of the family, which truly touched our hearts. The food was exceptional, and I wholeheartedly recommend making time for dinner there when you visit Donegal. I left with a newfound love for their delicious beetroot and ginger jam—it’s simply delightful! 😊

08/02/2025: We stayed in Bloomfield House hotel recently for 4 nights as we had lost power for 1 week due to Storm Éowyn. We are a family of 6 and we had two interconnecting rooms which were fabulous. We had a wonderful experience and could not find fault with the rooms, the food or the staff. We had a brilliant stay and it is a credit to the owners and everyone who works there. Would definitely stay again.

15/04/2025: Fantastic venue, coffees and service, Welcoming, engaging and and all round pleasure to be there. Special mention to Taimeekah(I hope that's the correct spelling). She was super nice.

03/04/2025: Was looking forward to their hot food and as maps say 6pm closing, we came at 4:30 but they said they’re closing at 5. They should change the times then as this was going to be my treat for mothers day lunch. We carried on in ordering drinks and pastries - done in a timely manner. As it was a very modern cafe, they usually have many different teas - so I specified black tea please, she didn’t understand, I clarified Irish breakfast tea, she was still confused until I said “normal tea”. It’s just small things like this that do not make a customer feel welcome. Hoping to come back at a better time and setting, the rest of the reviews look good.

27/04/2025: We came here for brunch without a booking. Thankfully they accommodated us but only for an hour because they’re fully booked. The food arrived quickly. Service is spot on. Full Irish breakfast is delish! Kinder bueno pancake is ordinary. Hassle free parking is a bonus!

05/02/2025: Rooms were so big and well equipped. We ate at the hotels pub and the food was lovely and also very big portions. Plenty of choice at breakfast too. I would go back

23/11/2024: The reason it got 4 stars is the premise was cold on arrival at 6pm ( it doesn’t open at 17:30 as stated on trip adviser ) I had the Chicken supreme and better half had the fish and chips. Have to say very tasty. We were served by Anastasia who was very polite, moving us to a warmer position etc. I recommend Nivana, but leave to a bit later if weather is cold

05/07/2024: Amazing place, the food was absolutely delicious. We took the Wagyu double cheese burger and the Korean chicken burger, plus we tried the pickled onion rings that were amazingly delicious. The Grub menu is available on Friday Saturday and Sunday, I truly recommend this place. It is very small, and there is no private parking.
