02/03/2025: I've heard many good things about Meeran Gani Manzoor's cooking in Rare at The Blue Haven. Any time I felt like trying, it seemed to be only available in tasting menu format. I experience tasting menus as a not very enjoyable posey rigmarole, so when an Indian pop-up - 2 or 3 courses - appeared as part of Kinsale Restaurant week, we went for it. We had a great time. There's always a good buzz in The Blue Haven, and tonight was no different. Stand out dishes were, Murgh Palken ( kolhapuri style chicken w spinach coriander and spices), Meen Polichadhu (haddock baked onion and tomato masala, Prawn Xacuti (fried shrimp w poppy seed and tamarind in coconut curry) but Rara Gosht (slow cooked lamb w onion tomato cardamom and clove garam masala) was superb. Chocolate Cardamom mouse, delicious. Often, in a group, someone's meal isn't great. Not tonight, four happy diners. I

11/11/2024: A lovely surprise Under stated and such a simple place. It’s not grand , but the welcome is warming. A bar with some simple food. Deep fried Scallops !!, A cold Fish platter , Smoked Salmon ,Poached. Salmon , Crab Meat and a hand full of mussels ,Plus a dip and Wheaten Bread with a Salad Garnish. Refreshing and simple . Bowls of Mussels in a lovely stock. Definitely , different ,and they do accommodation .

20/03/2025: Awful food we all got different starters and they all had the same piece of lettuce topped with mixed corn slop which just looked like someone's vomit...steak order for mains tasted off. Profiter rolls for desert was 5 tiny balls (obviously frozen) sitting on a huge bowel of whipped plain ice cream. No chocolate sauce in sight. Can't eat ice cream so desert was also not great. Expensive for such poor quality food.

05/04/2025: The food was good. The burgers, fries and hot dogs were tasty. I only discovered this place a few days before I left Ireland but I went two days in a row.

28/03/2025: Good atmosphere here and very friendly staff. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks lovely. Fantastic beer garden and you can bring your dog inside or out. Sports always on the TV as well as the horse racing. They will try to accommodate all sports. Pints are nice as well.

20/03/2025: this is definitely the best place in waterford (no ireland) to go for a pint of the black shtuf. they didn't do food (unless you're hungry for bacon fries). once a year on halloween bank holiday they hold "boos blaas & banter" which is a nice event in association with the waterford trade union. so if you like workers rights this is the time to go they also have really lovely plants in the outdoors smoking area. these plants are so nice that i just cant help myself from picking a leaf or two off them whenever i'm out there. nice place overall

05/04/2025: I went to this place first of all we had 4 of us and I ordered meat supreme and on the piazza there is spiced pork and it was well out of date there was a massive smell out of it but my 14 year old son didn’t know the different he said to me that he didn’t like that part and then i said give me a bit I after it was nearly done and thne the waiter was there with the card machine and we said and she said ok and then my husband said willl u check with the chef and then after 5 mind then came up and said the chef said sorry abt it and then we said how are u not giving us the piazza off and I still feel very sick but this after 10 mins and I haven’t throw up YET STAY AWAY USELESS U WANT TO THROW UP

05/04/2025: PLEASE IM WARNING YOU PLEASE DONT GO HERE !!! so I went here with my family and ya it was fine but when the food came it all started my dad never got his food we all got our food but my dad never got it untill 10 mins after mine so my brother had 3 slices of his pizza left and the meat on the pizza was gone off and we told them they said the chef said sorry BLAH BLAH BLAH and never give anything off our bill we were talking to 5 cheeky staff saying oh so sorry it's is probably gone off now my brother could be puking in the toilet tonight after this insadent I should have probably looked on here before I went to this freaky restaurant ... NEVER GO HERE LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS TO THERE ALL BAD NO WONDER

03/08/2024: We were there for 3 days and it was super fun in The Central Bar, highly recommended to have a beer there in the evening with the local people. We spent the night around the corner at The Old Barracks hotel, which is highly recommended and the breakfast is delicious.

21/03/2025: 10/10! Amazing food with huge portions and a beautifully designed interior. They even have Asahi draft beer. The service was excellent, special thanks to Alan! Highly recommend.

11/04/2025: The staff were amazing. The ‘large chicken caesar salad’ was not very large and should be called the chicken and lettuce. The toilets were very clean. I wont order this ever again. My friend said his buttermilk chicken burger was decent.
