09/10/2024: I’m writing this review as I’m still here enjoying myself. It’s a bar within the Montenotte Hotel. I was greeted and felt welcomed by a gentleman out front. He ushered me to the bar happily. I was maybe 10 minutes early but they weren’t angry or upset. The bartender, Debbie, was unbelievably kind and attentive. She was such a delight to talk to and give me suggestions. I am beyond happy I randomly came here. Will definitely return just for the hospitality alone.

31/01/2025: This place is just awful. The decor is tired and scruffy. Horrible dirty curtain you have to walk through to get in. Awful and very odd seating arrangements at the back of restaurant. Sloppy and untidy with store room doors left open to see all their mess. Neither a pub nor a restaurant. Food was poor. Glass I was drinking from was dirty. With a salty tasting residue. A complete waste of a prime location.

16/04/2025: Very good atmosphere, top-notch fish and chips! and an excellent chocolate ganache dessert! the servers are very cheerful and fast despite the crowd. We had a great evening in this pub.

02/04/2025: We visited Farmer Browns to watch the most recent Irish Women’s Six Nations match. We had to wait 30+ minutes to be brought a menu despite asking for them upon arrival. Despite asking for the match to be played on at least one screen, they turned it off after 50 minutes to play the build up for an FA cup game on every screen. There were almost no people inside so it didn’t feel unreasonable to expect them to keep the rugby on one screen

10/03/2025: Very cozy atmosphere. The staff is very polite and prompt, when we were there, all the tables were occupied, but there were no delays with food. The food is very tasty, probably this is the best cuisine of all the restaurants of the Siam Tai series.

17/03/2025: Standards are slipping. My family and I eat here regularly and it's great to have a Supermacs in the town, but no less than the last 6 times (in a row) that we've eaten here, our order has been wrong in one way or another. Missing items, small drinks with large meals, burgers requested plain come fully dressed, etc. Worst part is, on the last 2 occasions I was directly served by a supervisor and the orders are still not right. Can't expect junior staff to be diligent with orders when supervisors are making the silliest of mistakes. The food is always good, but the standard of attention to detail really needs to be improved.

If you really want to pamper yourself and enjoy a fine dinner, go to Lottie’s! The food is divine. We were a group of six, each of us ordered different dishes, and not a word was spoken—we just looked at each other once our plates were empty! We couldn’t stop praising what we had. An amazing experience!
19/03/2025: So last week myself and my better half returned to lotties for dinner and I have to say what a treat.
The staff were fantastic - particularly Lenka- and they looked after us so well. They recommended the snacks which we enjoyed with a little bubbly before moving on to a chateubriand that we shared.
Overall I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more highly and it’s also got a great facility upstairs for private parties or just a drink/light snack.
We are looking forward to returning

The View Restaurant Bar
02/03/2025: The website is disappointing as you are ashed for a booking when you arrive and there is no mention of booking on the website. I was told if I phone I can make a booking which is not on the website either. That said I was fitted in for a table and the service and food is top class. I would recommend it highly.

24/03/2025: Beautiful venue, brilliant service and gluten free options. Food is mediocre, personally I would reduce the sizes vs invest in more sophistication to match the climate. Food is not bad and it’s honest but you expect to come and eat something exciting that you wouldn’t be able to recreate easily in your own kitchen.
