The best restaurants

23/05/2026: Food taste was above average, good Turkish taste but probably you can have much better in the town. The aspect which was not very satisfactory was the service as the staff was very non-smiling and less warm to host the customers. If you ask me to see if I would recommend someone I would say – okay to go if you don’t have a better option.

28/04/2026: Ordered a coffee and scone, scone was toasted which I didn't ask for so I'm guessing it wasn't a fresh scone and didn't taste fresh. Cost €8, Dublin prices in Ballyconnell.

24/12/2025: Awesome tacos and great drinks at Black Dog Tacos! One of the few places in town where you can get really good quality tacos — fresh, flavorful, and packed with tasty ingredients. The drinks are just as good, with a nice selection that goes perfectly with the food. The vibe is fun and relaxed, and the staff are welcoming. Definitely a go-to spot if you’re craving tacos and a great drink in Cork! 🌮🍹

16/10/2025: Hello, It's a shame that for our last stop we were disappointed by our stay at your hotel. On your advice, we had booked through your website (confirmed by email from you) that breakfast was included. "Tom," I believe, refused us breakfast for the next morning. We had until 9 p.m. for dinner, and we arrived before 9 p.m. You told us the kitchens were closed so we could enjoy your famous pizzas. Finally, the room was very noisy, the window did not at all insulate from the noise of the road next to a very busy road! A shame about our last evening, a bad experience. Night of October 14-15, 2025 I'm not used to reviews, but our travel planner advised us to let you know about our disappointing visit. 26/08/2025: Oredered cake for my daughter, amazing decoration and delicious taste (fresh cream and strawberries) and yet price is so affordable. I wish they had more options for cake fillings.

06/08/2025: I ordered a cake for my husbands 40th birthday celebration, it was in a fabulous box and even came with candles, it tasted absolutely delicious and if we ever return to Dublin I will most definitely be ordering another cake! Thank you.

07/06/2026: We visited this pub during a music festival in this small village. It was around 10 p.m. We didn’t realize there was a policy against outside food, because the pub next door actually allows it. We bought drinks inside, so we were supporting them, and we were quietly sitting in the back with 16 empty tables around us (I counted them). However, after we finished, the woman spotted the food box and began scolding us. We apologized immediately but she kept saying things like it was "very cheeky" and that we "wouldn't do that in Cork city." I would have understood completely if she had just come over, explained the policy, and politely asked us to leave, or to don't repeat it. Instead, she continued standing over us and staring at us long after we apologized for the mistake/misunderstanding. We finished our drinks and left. Even when I acknowledge we made a mistake, there are plenty of ways to treat customers, and this is not an acceptable one. We felt very unwelcome, and we won’t be returning.

31/05/2026: Stopped here and n a drive by and it was nothing exceptional. Fish was a bit greasy and my companion’s zucchini soup was more like a broth, tasty but needed some heft! My wife’s seafood chowder had two fish bones in it.
