The best restaurants

10/12/2025: We went into Loftys for one on the way back to the hotel and ended up staying for 4. The Guinness is really good lofty the main man was serving, and what an absolute Gent he was we had a chat and a laugh. It wasn't that busy as it was a tuesday evening but I really enjoyed the few hrs spent there.

26/08/2025: Great pint of Guinness, Annie was very friendly and helpful, gave us advice on our onward journey.

30/01/2026: Probably the best supermacs i have ever been to, everything was made fresh, but only one lad there in the whole place doing all the work. Fair play to him, he got it bang on. 👍

25/08/2025: About as good as it gets for Supermac's. Very nice staff. 10 min walk to centre of Clifden.

30/10/2025: Had not been in Ryan's for many years so popped in whilst visiting Nenagh. What a great pub. Bright, interesting and friendly. Had a good pint, a nice chat and a nod from the locals. Highly recommended.

04/02/2026: Good facilities, freezing and the soft play area is too expensive... and don't bring in a reusable water bottle... it makes them cross! Edit: I've been reading other reviews and it seems Airtastic defends its water bottle policy saying it's standard practise. But it's not standard Airtastic. I was told I couldn't bring in my son's reusable water bottle and was then given tap water in paper cups. Kind of the staff member but what a waste of paper cups! It's unfair on staff who have to give out to people and unfair on confused customers.

03/02/2026: I gave the management of this place the chance to put this right and a week after putting in my complaint they still haven't bothered so I will warn other parents and share our experience here. We booked my son's 10th birthday here last weekend for a lazertag party. My son was picked on and held in the lazertag arena by a member of their staff despite asking to leave as he was very upset. There was plenty of staff available to escort my son to our table which was right outside the door. I was told during my complaint by a manager the normal procedure was for a staff member to allow the children to leave if they request and that she couldn't understand why my son was held inside as there was plenty of staff there at that time. My son panicked and left and came over to our table. He was then followed by the same male staff member who held him back who then directly addressed my son (not me or any other adult at the table) and roared and shouted at him for leaving the arena without his permission. This man then did the same to me when I asked what the problem was. I tried to keep the situation calm because of the children at our table watching and I feared that if I said anything to this staff member he would have more than likely lost control altogether. His behaviour was very aggressive and my son had already been through enough. We were only halfway through the party and still had to eat in the party room. To say I am stunned by the behaviour of this man is an understatement. My son's birthday was ruined by this disgusting behaviour. I can only form the opinion that the management have no regard for the safety and well being of the children under their care as no one has bothered to tell me otherwise. The patronising manger I dealt with named Michelle told me this staff member is on the spectrum and I must have noticed that. Wow is all I can say, as if that makes it ok. That's a disgraceful excuse. If he can't handle children and loses his temper so easily when a child needs to go to their parents then there's a serious issue and he shouldn't be working with children. She had already checked the CCTV and saw how we were approached by this man and has now decided to ignore our complaint despite my calls and messages since we spoke. My son will take a long time to feel safe again after this experience and I would urge any parent thinking of bringing their children here to think twice and look elsewhere.

06/11/2025: Popped in here when passing through for a quick bite to eat. This is a lovely little cafe, the food quality and service was great, would highly recommend!

20/09/2025: The best cafe food in Carlow! Best breakfast bap known to man 👌🏼coffee is fabulous. Great selection of both gluten free meals as well as cakes. The Christmas sambo is just stunning. Very reasonably priced too.

01/03/2026: The Indian cuisine is simply superb. We visited this town in the off-season, and this was one of the places open after 6:00 PM, and we were right on target. The waiters are super nice. They're helpful and informative. The food is beyond praise. Our souls and cheeks were on fire, in a good way. We were very satisfied. A must-have recommendation. P.S. The music adds a special charm.

01/02/2026: Perfect service! The woman at reception noticed I was cold and offered to bring a radiator to our room. Very welcoming, a wonderful experience, and there's parking at the hotel. If we're passing by, we'll definitely stop by again! I also had pasta in a white sauce with mussels and prawns; I highly recommend it! (corrected: I ordered a starter, but feel free to order a full portion)

31/10/2025: we had a meal there today as it was my son's graduation. The waitress was very friendly . my salad was nice but the turkey dinner my son had was just not great with big chunks of veg and mash was a bit dry. my partner asked for a ham sandwich which was very unappetizing and visually just two big triangles of bread wit ham stuffed in the middle. the dinner cost over 18 euro and we just expected a bit better value for money. it wasn't busy there and just thought food is not visually great and could be more appealing.

13/03/2026: During several of my recent stays,Upon check-in, I had several pieces of luggage, yet some of the older doormen did not come out to assist until I had already carried my bags to the entrance myself. I noticed that some of the older doormen consistently had minimal eye contact or greeting. This occurred not only upon arrival for check-in but also each time I went out or returned to the hotel. Younger staff, however, were proactive and welcoming. I have stayed at many five-star hotels, and this is the first time I have encountered such a lack of arrival service. For a hotel of this level, I would expect all staff to provide a consistently warm and professional welcome. I hope this feedback helps improve the guest experience.

26/10/2025: Visit look mam no hands today, second time to visit this establishment. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We order two breakfast and they were so filling and everything was cooked to perfection 👌 so, to the chefs well done to your fantastic work and thank you. To the lady servers yous do your upmost best to welcome customers and to making sure they are looked after. We will be visiting again and will be passing on to family and friends to visit Wish yous all the best on continuing your hospitality to ashbourne area.

23/08/2025: Anytime I get to visit Dalkey, I head to Pepperlaine for the best cappuccino and tasty treat to fuel me up for the day browsing around this lively village. I’m looking forward to popping in over the Lobster festival for my caffeine fix and the chance to pick up a great locally sourced gift for an upcoming birthday while I’m there.

10/08/2025: My partner and I left vomiting all night and extreme stomach sickness after eating here, no manager to speak to, to help deal with this situation, was left speaking to the assistant manager who has no clue what she is doing and accused me of lying just to get my money back, told me to go get proof that im sick from the doctor, said her name was Monica just talked over me the whole time on the phone and acuused me of lying and was shouting at me the whole phonecall, absolutely horrible person, has no place in a customer service job, please dont eat in this dump unless you want to be sick and abused

23/03/2026: Absolutely amazing experience, Daniel was delightful and we enjoyed his service a lot. The sommeliers were great at giving advice for cocktails. Food was class, I had the vegetarian option (and I'm really complicated when it comes to preferences) but they accommodated for everything. I didn't know you can cook beetroot in so many ways, I was amazed. Also the leek dish omg, I want that dip every day. My partner had the normal tasting menu, almost made me want to try it it looked so good! Definitely an experience to enjoy, food is delicious, drinks are amazing and service is class. Cheeseboard is extra but definitely worth it. I loved the blue cheese, all of them, knocked it out of the park. Gabriella was also so nice! We also had a drink at the Tack Room before and it was the best cocktail I've ever had. Definitely will be coming back.

19/12/2025: Really enjoyed the tasting menu here. Nice variety and the menu seemed to flow well. Beautiful setting also and the service was nice and friendly. Would definitely return.
