The average wage is stuck around €16 an hour. If you think a chef—a skilled professional—is going to cook you a high-quality meal for pocket change when their own costs are upwards of €20–€30 per household head, you’re living in a fantasy land. The Lowdown: The Food: It’s incredible. Fresh fish, crab claws that actually taste like the ocean, and portions that don't leave you hungry. This is a family-run gem, not a factory. The Vibe: Proper traditional Irish hospitality. Cosy, warm, and authentic. The Price Tag: Expect to pay €50–€60 per person for a full experience. The Verdict: Ireland is not a cheap country. Quality costs money. If you can’t afford to pay for the talent in the kitchen and the atmosphere of a place like Sacre Coeur, you have two very simple options: Get a job that pays better. Go to McDonald’s. The Euro Saver menu exists for a reason and it suits some people just fine. But if you want a real dinner in a gorgeous village like Sneem, stop complaining and pay the price for the quality you're getting. If you don't like it, go elsewhere. For the rest of us who appreciate great food—this place is a must-visit.

08/12/2025: Super cozy pub, friendly service, great place to enjoy some drinks with family and friends. I went for the first time with my friend and I plan to go back many more times. We went on a Sunday and there was live music, very good.

14/02/2026: Ordered online - wrong pizza came, was soggy and cold.

I ordered pizza on uber eats, pizza was cold (no fault to Uno) but I am missing an item and the delivery driver told me to call Uno pizza and I got an automated message, with literally no one to help me. Just to email. The message says it is because they’re busy but I see on google updates that they are not. Really disappointing

07/03/2026: Food was great, with the deserts being the best. Nice atmosphere and decent spacing between seats.

28/02/2026: Perfect, one of the best places I've been. Staff were so so nice n respectful, the atmosphere was so confortable, portions r so massive its so worth, the price isn't crazy . Its a dream. Desserts was 😻😻

04/12/2025: Amazing food. We got the steak sandwich and beef stroganoff, both of which were the nicest I’ve had. Great service too and a nice calm atmosphere.

01/12/2025: Salmon dinner was good, hot, and a large portion. Not sure it was local. Dispointed oysters were not on the menu but overall nice location, good service, and nice atmosphere.

15/02/2026: Had 3 courses, hummus starter was delish, Main chicken Burger was underwhelming, and white choc mousse dessert was tasty. Server was so helpful, very attentive. Nice surroundings but I dont know if I'd go out of my way to eat there again.

28/01/2026: Hotel restaurants are generally a safe but basic option. In this case, this restaurant pleasantly surprised me. We followed Alberto's recommendations for drinks, food, and dessert, and it was a guaranteed success. Everything was delicious, and the service made us feel right at home. It's definitely a great option for lunch or dinner without having to travel far from the hotel.

10/12/2025: We had a lovely breakfast at Perfect Day Café. The food was fresh and tasty, with great options to choose from. Service was excellent, and the staff were very kind and welcoming. A perfect spot to start the morning and enjoy a relaxing meal.

08/07/2025: Probably a good spot after shopping, the terasse is convenient. You don't come for the surroundings. What put me off is the price of the coffee and for that it's going to be the first and last time. 4.10€ for a cappuccino and 4.70€ for a non dairy (yeah I'm lactose intolerant not a fancy dub) It's the price you'd pay in London. As far as I can see Monaghan is far from being London. Now if it's because of the rent, it's a shame. Anyway too expensive (4.5€ a piece of cake... )

12/11/2025: I love the Coffee Shop as it is the nearest thing to an English cafe i can find in Ireland. I lived in England for most of my life and love sitting beside the mullion window in the Coffee Shop. Thankfully this cafe has now reopened after a 3 month closure following a fire in the kitchen. It is back to business as usual. The food as always is very good quality, the service efficient and the new staff very nice. I am so pleased to see this lovely cafe open again

28/11/2025: We were on holiday and staying in Milltown for 3 nights and decided we wanted to go grab some food and drinks at a local pub. We stopped at Larkin's Pub and immediately we knew we were in the right place the owner Mike helped us immediately and was full of great information of places to see around the area. We also came back a couple nights later on Wednesdays they have traditional Irish music being played right in the bar. Was great to listen to had great drinks and the locals were fun to talk with. If you're in the area stop by and see Mike and the rest of his crew. Tell him the farmer from Oregon sent you.

25/10/2025: Lovely Pub. I was on the way from Tralee we stop for a quick bite, good pub grub! Toasted sandwich with chips & salad, fire was blazing needed on a cold October evening. The Guinness looked good. Friendly staff and customers.

20/03/2026: I arrived at the roost just after 23:30 and was told the bar was closed despite saying it was open til 2:00 on Google management and ownership clearly don’t care about false advertising which could lead to a lawsuit, I would avoid at all costs

23/03/2026: I work on the road and eat out very often and am limited due to being allergic to wheat. But my god this gluten free pizza is one of the best gluten free pizzas ive ever got while eating out! I highly recommend!!
