The best restaurants

27/10/2025: 2 of us arrived and even though they were mad busy. The lovely staff fit us in for some food and gave us a gorgeous roast beef dinner. I'd highly recommend here for food for anyone passing or in the area.

27/04/2026: Went to Anu’s restaurant and lounge today. The service was great and the food was fantastic! However, the buffet experience was quite underwhelming and a bit overpriced for the options they had on offer (very limited & there was no plantain) - you are better off just ordering seperate things from the menu. Fanta cost me €5, I have never paid that much in any African restaurant before. The ambience was not really giving lounge, it was pretty much just a hall and loud (old afrobeat) music playing. Food is worth going for if you have money to spend.

25/04/2026: Went for dinner. Verry good sea food. Lady in the restaurant is verry friendly. Great service.

02/04/2026: Excellent food, charming atmosphere, friendly service. Good value for money. One point deducted because it was quite cold inside; we were there at the beginning of April.

30/12/2025: Food very good, maybe the best Shawarma in town. Unfortunately the people working there, especially the girl at the counter, were not so friendly and welcoming.It is a pity.

29/12/2025: I highly recommend this restaurant! The pita bread, hummus, and wraps are delicious. Very fresh ingredients, and the meat is cooked perfectly! Impeccable service. Great value for money compared to other food options in Dublin. 💯

14/06/2026: This is a nice town on the water. Lots of tourists. Stopped here for lunch and asked for the open window table - there’s no view but it was light and bright. We were told there was a reservation for it (at 2:30 in the afternoon). OK. They seated us and I ordered the mussels and a seafood chowder. The mussels tasted good but they were the tiniest mussels I’ve ever had. The seafood chowder was good but again full of mussels. One of us had the seafood tacos. They had a minimal amount of seafood. Overall a mediocre experience - I will not go again. I will find a place with a view next time. 🌊

11/06/2026: Stopped in at the Oar House after leaving another restaurant with a long wait. We were seated immediately. So glad we stopped here. I got the baked hake and it was so delicious! Salmon was excellent as well. We also shared the sticky toffee pudding cheesecake for dessert. So good!!

17/05/2026: I am very impressed. The bed is sooooooo comfortable with very decent pillows. The room was spotlessly clean. And checking in was easy with some fantastic recommendations from Kevin. Salthill is approx a 20 min walk from Galway, but it’s a beautiful walk along the coast. It also has some fantastic restaurants nearby for breakfast. You must go to O’Connors if you’re staying. Great live music.

14/10/2025: Only went in because of the name and the Mrs Brown (TV Show) name link, but were we glad. Lovely neat little pub full of character and characters. Great staff, great pints, great prices, yep, great little pub. Go on, give it a try.

28/09/2025: Love this bar. great Guinness and lovely Atmosphere whether you are in a group or want to have a quiet pint while reading a paper.

27/11/2025: Unreal chips 😍 and I was trying to be healthier :) and they made me a side salad with spicy sauce, veggie burger with no bun and again the chips are delicious. Garlic mayo and garlic dip. My son's chicken burger was massive and he loved it. Very impressed.

22/05/2026: Doesn't karaoke sound like a fun activity for Hens and Stags? I thought so. If you thought so too, well...UNO REVERSE. NO SILLY SINGING FOR YOU. FUN ACTIVITY DENIED. Hens and Stags, Massimo does not want your money. We (a group of 10) tried to drop in for karaoke night as part of a pre-wedding crawl, and we were promptly kicked out because they "don't do hen parties." I was very confused, and truly thought this was a joke when the bartender told us to kick rocks. We did not enter loudly or obnoxiously, and were not looking for them to "do" anything but trade some pints for euros and endure some off-key songs. Maybe the folks at Massimo are perfectly nice and have been traumatized to the point of PTSD by screeching packs of bridesmaids. Maybe they actually can't handle more than 10 people at a time. (We would have doubled the clientele at 8pm on a Thursday, had we been allowed to stay.) Maybe they hate joy and want to keep all of their advertised karaoke to themselves. I don't know. And if you are hens or stags traveling in a pack larger than two or three, neither will you. Because they don't want you there, and they will ask you to leave.

26/04/2026: The worst bar in Galway, never will I enter there again, aggressive bouncers, beer taste pour, avoid this place. Bouncers are agreeive and bad people. Bouncers are very touchy!!!!!

14/10/2025: We called in here with no booking, we were seated straight away and we had our food on our tables within 10 minutes. Food was piping hot and delicious, there's was plenty to choose from. Plenty of parking on the street.

10/05/2026: A takeaway place with the option to eat in. The ambiance is therefore rather simple and functional. The service was quick, the food (pasta) was hot and very generously portioned. I wouldn't go there for my wedding anniversary, but we'd happily come back for a casual dinner.

03/04/2026: Lovely spot for food. Lots of choices. Needs to be signposted a bit better as you wouldn't even know it's there if you just pass through.
