06/01/2026: The meat here is incredible! I ordered the ribeye sandwich for 15 euros; it was generously filled and came with delicious roast potatoes. It's definitely one of the best places in Cork for meat in terms of value, as these types of restaurants in Ireland are usually expensive, but here all the stalls have roughly the same prices.

13/03/2026: Few hotel views in all of Ireland rival what you experience from Aghadoe Heights, perched on its elevated ridge with the three Killarney lakes and the MacGillycuddy's Reeks spread across the entire horizon before you. I have stayed at fine hotels across Europe and North America throughout my business career, and this Kerry gem consistently earns its place among the very best. The view from my room stopped me completely on arrival — I stood at the window for a full ten minutes before I could bring myself to unpack. That is the power of this landscape, and Aghadoe Heights frames it as beautifully as any hotel I have encountered. The Heights Bar and its panoramic terrace is one of the great places to spend an Irish evening — Kerry whiskey in hand, the sun dropping behind the Reeks, the lakes turning gold below. Lake Room restaurant impressed me with its modern Irish cooking: Cromane mussels, Annascaul black pudding, Kerry mountain lamb of remarkable quality. The spa is excellent, the pool views extraordinary, and the sense of calm that descends over this property as the day ends is genuinely restorative. For anyone with Kerry blood or Kerry connections — and my grandmother's family were pure Kerry — Aghadoe Heights is a deeply personal and deeply satisfying place to stay. Magnificent.

09/03/2026: We stayed here for 3 nights in Nov 2025. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I specifically chose this hotel for the spa. Because our schedule was busy during the first two days, I saved the last day just for the spa. The hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to use the thermal spa area longer than the usual time limit. The heated lounge chairs were incredibly soothing, and the spa staff were very helpful whenever I had questions about their products. Breakfast was one of the best. During afternoon tea, we also received exceptional service from a lady who has worked at the hotel for decades. I regret that I cannot remember her name, but her attentiveness, communication, and professionalism were outstanding. I truly wanted to recognize her contribution through this review. The tea we had was excellent. If you stay here, try the “Irish Whiskey Cream” tea. You will love it.

08/02/2026: Although it’s very beautiful, you Can’t ever get into the place. Reservations only?? Can’t just go to the pub anymore without a reservation. It’s madness. The food is only ok too.

07/02/2026: Ordered food and waited 50 minutes before it was served. Staff nice but run off their feet. Food was good but expensive

24/11/2025: A very busy chipper. Not hard to understand why. The chips were fantastic and the deep fried chicken just melted in your mouth. Highly recommend it as a pit stop if you are passing

11/08/2025: Lovely Irish pub, with lots of kind and friendly locals, tons of little nooks, a spacious back patio and sneak access to a large courtyard with a few tasty food trucks and a little hidden sauna. A fun find and great place for an afternoon out!

31/12/2025: We dined here on new years eve as part of the supper club. There was a 7 course meal, each one well crafted with artsy flavour and garnish. The service and atmosphere were fluid, everything exceeded our expectations. Excellent!!! Thanks Ash, Julien and Lekker team.

09/11/2025: I went here for the first time on Friday and wow I wasn't disappointed. I got the build your own breakfast, excellent value for money the mushrooms were absolutely amazing. There was a great selection for breakfast, The staff were very friendly staff I will definitely be returning again.

27/10/2025: Unpleasant experience. We waited at the bar for around 20 minutes without being acknowledged. Despite approaching staff several times to ask about getting a table, we continued to be ignored. Unfortunately, we decided to leave.

10/02/2026: We went to the restaurant tonight and it was very, very good! We highly recommend it. The waitress was very kind and welcoming, the prices were very reasonable compared to the rest of the city, and above all, the food was INCREDIBLE!!!!!
