The best restaurants

11/08/2026: I have recently been to DDT for two events in recent weeks, and had unpleasant experiences at both. Your bar staff are incredibly rude and impatient to all patrons. The worst was an act of ableism which is deeply concerning. They allege they are an “accessible venue” yet a wheelchair user couldn’t access your front door. Most harrowingly, said user got trapped between doors at the back and couldn’t open the fire escape to exit. When they shouted for help, a member of your bar staff was incredibly dismissive and rude and accosted her for shouting. Considering this venue literally burned down years ago, it’s worrisome that a fire exit couldn’t be adequately opened without assistance. I used to love this venue but your bar staffs horrible attitude has ruined it for me. I will not be returning, as will a lot of friends who witnessed the event the other night.

17/07/2026: The best vibez can be found here and it's host to a lot of alternative events you find anywhere else. Great for a date night!

13/09/2026: Could the bigger for the number of people there but that in itself is a testament to how good it was. I loved my food.

01/08/2025: Off the beaten tourist path, little cafe. Workers are beyond friendly. Place is filled with locals (good sign) and wondering tourists. Solid scone and coffee for me. My son’s breakfast sandwich was solid as well. Compared to the crazy prices around the area, this was a 5 star stop for a no frills friendly breakfast. If you’re expecting something really fancy, this ain’t the place for you.

21/07/2025: Just left, good place. Outdated menu prices. Small breakfast 10 euros.

24/08/2026: Food was burnt and senior staff in it are very rude towards customers and younger staff would not go back near again horrible place

20/08/2026: 5 star all the way. Always busy and its no wonder with the quality of the food and service.

07/06/2026: Stellar location right on the canal at one of the (many) hip spots that draws a crowd of revelers when the weather is nice. Canal is good for a walk/run…river is a short 20min walk.

05/06/2026: The bar here is amazing. The Bartenders here are soo talented and if you ask them to be creative, you wont regret it. My Bartender Pertu literally made us the most amazing drinks.

30/08/2025: What a gem. Service was just top class, friendly, fast efficient. Value for money. Toilets clean, wash basin in mens needed clean is all & maybe needs an upgrade aesthetically wise. Eggs benedict - top quality bacon 🥓 was very tasty, could be but crispier, but personal preference. Hollandaise was delicious, lemon coming through. Poached eggs perfect runny... Coffee & tea solid. Highly highly recommended 👌 #supportlocal

27/03/2026: Wonderful cafe. The staff who are training are so helpfu and efficient - if you are in Ballsbridge pay a visit- you wont regret it

23/06/2026: Had a lovely stop here after visiting the castle. The welcome couldn't have been nicer, got lots of tips on nice places to visit while on holiday too. The scones were delicious and we'd highly recommend visiting.

23/06/2026: Great coffee and scones. Mary Pat was lovely. Three of us stopped off after a wander round the castle and Limerick town. Great value, great service and supporting the local community, what more could you want 😁

15/09/2026: We had the fastest service, ever! We still can’t believe how quick our food arrived, between 5-10min from ordering a hot duck dish & a toasted sandwich with chips. All the food was delicious & piping hot. All the staff, in the shop, on the tour & in the restaurant were all fantastic & do a fabulous job. They were all so welcoming & polite. Nothing was too much bother, well done to all. Thank you everyone for a lovely experience…….😁

16/09/2026: Awesome coffee and food and best feature - one of the earliest open cafes in Galway which is almost a requirement for Aussies and our early out and about start to the day ‼️🤣🤣

23/08/2026: Collection from here is always so so slow. Come in and can see my order ready, yet I’m told it’ll be a few minutes and to wait. Waiting for my food to go cold 👍

19/08/2026: My go to takeaway but when are you getting the new menu? Tallaght have Feta cheese and new meats. Also the “quality check wait “ being longer than the actual cooking of the pizza is not good. Deliver faster please 🙏🏻

16/08/2026: For Europeans, be aware they eat early! The kitchen closes at 7 pm, but the bar stays open. Otherwise, nice dishes, bistro style.

14/07/2026: We sat down for food and had so many waitresses walk by not looking to find out if we wanted menus, let alone a drink. Finally got someone's attention and got some menus...and yet again was left waiting to give an order and this includes a drink order. Then got an our order through eventually to a lovely waitresses. Our drink and food came quick enough but yet again was left waiting so long to give an order for some desserts. Even my son made a comment on why do they keep walking by and not asking if we want something. There seemed to be plenty of waitresses in the place....... but to get fed or watered you may look after yourself or go somewhere with better service.

18/12/2025: Came in late after a long day of travelling and arrived in near closing time. They were very accommodating to me and my partner, we had accommodation already sorted elsewhere but we had some food here and it was deadly. Owners very friendly and recommend us sights to see. Will be back when we visit skibbereen again.
