21/10/2024: Best place to stop at after a trip around Phillip Edward Island. Served us a mix of lake trout and white fish. Impressed with how fresh it was. Ended up buying some whitefish fillets to have when we got home. They even gave us ice to are the fish stayed cool on the drive home. Could not ask for better food and service.

18/12/2024: I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered the Ranch House Skewers (chicken), and they were not worth the price. The portion size was extremely small—not even half a bowl. In terms of taste, I would rate it a zero; only the dip for the fries was decent. The fries were overly greasy, and the chicken skewers lacked any flavor.
To make matters worse, when I mentioned that the quantity was insufficient, their response was, "That's perfect." I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Literally was sliced chicken breast ( like you would use in a sandwich)mixed into a Chinese type yellow curry sauce made from a packet. No veg whatsoever and served with insipid rice and chips. It was at least served piping hot!

10/02/2025: I highly recommend The Dropping Well! We recently hosted my dad’s party in the upstairs function room, and it was the perfect venue. We had a sit-down, two-course meal for around 40 guests, and the food was absolutely delicious with a great selection to choose from. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, even cutting and serving the cake we brought for dessert. The private bar and toilets upstairs added to the convenience, making it an ideal setting for our celebration.

Glengarriff Caravan & Camping Park
01/10/2024: This is a well kept campsite, in a lovely corner of West Cork. The manager is friendly and helpful. Showers and toilets were clean and well stocked.
25/09/2024: Nice large (expensive 45 euros per night including electricity) campsite with free showers where you could adjust the temperature. Toilet blocks were renovated on the inside a few years ago. Pitches are paved with grass next to them. The village is 3 km by bike from the campsite, there is a shop and a few restaurants. The manager was very friendly, he normally closed a few days before but we were still allowed to stay for a night (we were not alone 🙂)
