18/02/2025: Ten of us met up here for dinner including 4 kids. Food was really lovely and the table was at the window with views out over the river which was fab. We went on a Sunday so booked in ahead as it was a large group. The service was a bit slow but we didn’t mind really as they were busy and we were chatting and catching up anyway. Not cheap but worth it. Kids even got to choose ice creams (mars and iceBerger) from a freezer as their dessert 😊 loads of parking out the front at the river and also a nice walk down along even if not going into the famine ship experience.

16/02/2025: Arrived on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Nice place with friendly staff. After we were seated we were informed that two of the dishes were not available. We ordered the roast beef and were then told it was gone. We ordered steak only to be told that was gone as well. Very poor kitchen management.

28/12/2024: At Take 2, the double patty burger is an absolute masterpiece. Two juicy, perfectly seasoned beef patties are stacked high, each seared to a crisp yet tender perfection. The burger is layered with fresh, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and a zesty pickled onion that adds a tangy crunch. Melted cheddar blankets the patties, oozing into every bite, while the special sauce—a secret blend of tangy and creamy—brings everything together. Served on a soft, toasted brioche bun, this burger is a symphony of flavors and textures, making it an unforgettable experience that will have you coming back for more.

16/12/2024: I was more disappointed by the attitude of the staff than the food itself. I have never in my life waited longer for food than here and place was not even half full, my daughter had to wait 50 min to get her kids pasta which is just ridiculous and Dear waitress if you talk about customer behind the back, make sure at least we don’t notice, that was unprofessional and uncomfortable. The owner made an effort to correct my well-done steak, which I had ordered rare, but when I received the new steak, it was medium-well done, not rare as requested. After he insisted I say if I was happy, I was honest, and he became rude, suggesting I wanted a "blue" steak. Proper steak preparation seems to be an issue, and perhaps some staff training is needed. Overall, the food did not meet expectations, and the rude, dismissive behavior from the staff left a lasting negative impression. Do not recommend at all.

24/12/2024: Lovely spot did not know what to expect. Was very surprised lovely venue friendly staff and great value for your pint. Would definitely recommend this spot.

26/01/2025: The fabulous young server was so friendly, helpful, and polite. The food was delicious. The whole place was very clean and very much enjoy our night out there.

27/12/2024: Lovely pub and restaurant in Shannagolden. Food was great and cider cold. Try the steak sandwich, the best one I've eaten in Ireland. They have music in the afternoon and evening that attracts people from all the west of county Limerick, if you would like to indulge in the local culture and have a sing a long.

18/12/2024: A great little WYSIWYG bar and the best Guinness I've ever tasted. Friendly locals and bar staff, did I mention the Guinness was the best I've ever had?

19/10/2024: Mi café con leche estaba delicioso, y es aún más impresionante porque era descafeinado. Además, su bollo de bayas casero fue uno de los mejores que he probado (y he probado MUCHOS de ellos). Tienen muchos otros deliciosos productos horneados. El barista era muy agradable y acogedor. Está a solo unas casas abajo de The Little Dublin Museum (otra joya). Muy recomendable.

18/10/2024: A classic choice for quality coffee. Went in today in the morning to grab my usual and the girls were super nice, professional and cheerful, as always. It was kinda busy but they still managed to come through and deliver and all that while wearing their biggest smile. Highly recommend!

08/02/2025: Great pub - well worth a visit. Dom, Hugh and Eoin are amazing bartenders. Fantastic atmosphere and great service. We will definitely return on our next trip! 10/10!!

02/02/2025: I had the roast beef for dinner. The beef was delicious, lovely and tender. The vegetables were a bit hard and could have done with a few more minutes boiling/steaming. I asked could I substitute the onion rings for chips and the waitress said no problem. After paying I realised I had been charged for the chips that were substituted, even though the portion they gave was not a full portion of chips. I also waited for a dessert menu but they never gave one.

12/01/2025: Several mistakes—I cannot consider this restaurant gastronomic, except for its pricing. As a French person, I was deeply disappointed and will certainly not return. The service fell short. Glasses and cutlery were seldom cleared, and staff rarely checked if everything was satisfactory. The wait was extremely long—we spent three hours in the restaurant. When multiple customers waited to pay, the servers prioritized preparing tables for the next day. The selection of white wine was unremarkable. The bottle we chose is widely distributed internationally and available at O'Briens for €23. At the restaurant, it was priced at €64. Its taste was decidedly average and would cost no more than €10 in a French supermarket. The vol-au-vent seemed industrial rather than homemade. Its sauce lacked flavor, consisting mostly of cream, with standard mushrooms. This dish was far from impressive. The mustard mash was not a good pairing. It felt like eating mustard with a spoon. The venison was undercooked, leaning too much toward rare. The hors d'oeuvre and dessert were decent, but the meal was not worth €85 per person. The ambiance is modern, though perhaps a bit too minimalist. In the end, we left very disappointed. This restaurant does not meet the standard of French cuisine. I’ve experienced much better French restaurants in Ireland at significantly lower prices.

24/12/2024: I booked this restaurant for dinner with my wife on her birthday. We've been to Bresson before and very much enjoyed. I made the booking 4 months before the date as it's a special birthday. So I was quite shocked to receive a brief alert with no explanation yesterday through the Open Table service that the appointment had been cancelled. This happened barely more than a week before the dinner, leaving me with practically no time to find somewhere else, especially over the busy Christmas period. I rang to ask what was the reason and was told the manager would ring me back. When I rang again, after receiving no reply, someone who appeared to be in charge said 'Oh, we were trying to contact you last week to say the restaurant would be closed on that day.' This may be normal practice for restaurants currently, but it's not decent carry on.

07/01/2025: This feels like a small family hotel. We called in here to have lunch, food was delicious and staff helpful and friendly. We were on the way from the midlands to Galway and stopped in Athenry for food, there are a lot of options available but we were very happy we picked here.

11/12/2024: Loved this Hotel!! I was doing a training in the BIA Innovator, and the New Park was ideal place to stay! So cosy and welcoming, loved the bar area!!

04/01/2025: Small area in Armpits at the Abbey Street entrance. Limited seating. Sandwich was excellent as was the coffee. 2 staff members who were under pressure but worked with a smile.

30/12/2024: Excellent Christmas toastie and other options look great with a good choice of drinks. Highly recommend for quick bite in the morning or at lunch

01/02/2025: We ate here with our 3 young kids and it was just fantastic. The service was nice and quick, they were great. When we got there they had markers and colouring on the table (amazing!). The food was delicious, everyone was chuffed. We will most definitely be back often. Thanks!

12/02/2025: Spent just over a month in Ireland. Drove over 3,000K. Yet sitting in this cafe for a late lunch after seeing the Hills of Tara was one of my 5 top moments of the stay.
