30/04/2026: A quaint pub in the center of Buncrana. Live music and excellent beer make this place a cult favorite for Irish traditions and folklore. A must-try for anyone passing through this beautiful town.

06/06/2026: Update 29/05/2026 : Unfortunately this was not a good experience. The food ranged from ok to poor and when I say poor I don't mean unedible or disgusting. The service was hit and miss but friendly when someone did turn up at our table. We expressed our disappointment when the bill came and to be fair the manager came over to find out what was wrong and reduced the bill. You can't ask fairer than that and if the problems had been confined to one or two things we'd have accepted it as a bad day but in a relatively competitive marketplace I'm afraid we won't be back in a hurry and won't be recommending to others. Really enjoyed our family meal, food was very tasty and there was a good range of options on the menu. Staff were very friendly but a little hard to get hold of, hence the 3 for service. It's not a particularly atmospheric room but is still far better than some of the "unit" restaurants. There's an outdoor area which on a nice day I'd say would be very pleasant. €13 for a small margarita is a bit steep, the price is ok for a cocktail but either provide a jug or make the individual measures bigger.

17/09/2025: If you walk up to the main square from the castle (You can do it!), you'll find MUCH cheaper (and probably better) sandwiches than close to the castle. We got the brie panini and the chicken pesto panini; both excellent. Price was also excellent. Service was quick and so friendly!

14/08/2025: Excellent coffee with lively cakes etc but the gluten free was underneath the glutenated food uncovered and I protected. Contamination was very likely. I am sorry and look forward to upgrading this review soon.

12/09/2025: Get my morning coffee most mornings before the train! Coffee’s always good and made super quick perfectly timed to make my early morning train. The staff (Faye) is so friendly, always cheerful and welcoming which makes the whole vibe even nicer.

30/08/2025: Im only newish to the java hut as my partner lives up there and he goes there every day during work. The coffee is the nicest coffee creamy cappucino wit caramel syrup and the way the staff makes it wow is all I can say top tier coffee and the staff are so friendly and pleasant and quick too as sometimes there would be 3cars ahead of us but we werent ever waiting long I need 2buy it now for at home im no barista but I will attempt it with this coffee 10 outta 10 bonus then with the loyalty cards

14/08/2025: Had the fish and chip box form the food truck which is part of the bar and it was amazing quality to have on the beach .

12/08/2025: This is a real locals bar. Located just outside the town and right beside Jamesfort The Dock gives unrivalled views of the bay and is a perfect location for a summer’s day drink.

15/08/2025: Service with the biggest smile. Martin is an absolute joy, so friendly chatty and funny. Lovely coffee and chocolate brownie and a bakewell tart.

09/08/2025: Love the food!I had a breakfast bap, the bap was fresh the egg was cooked perfectly and the sausage was so flavourful. Great service keep up the good work!!

07/01/2026: Gluten free food here is amazing. I've eaten here a few times and got something different each time. 10/10 no matter what you get.

15/12/2025: We had a breakfast here for two days (Saturday and Sunday). Both days we really enjoyed the view. What surprised me is that both days I ordered the same, but I liked the sandwich as well as the hot chocolate more the first day. The second day I was a bit disappointed, it wasn’t the same. Even though, really nice staff and a lovely place to enjoy your meal. Santa sandwich for 9€ and hot chocolate for 4€.

29/05/2026: Lovely meal tonight 29th may, food fantastic , initially waitress needs training badly , and knowing how to talk to people , outside of that loved the food as usual, and the server after that was a great guy . Will be back again

15/05/2026: I ordered from the Marian on a very busy Friday evening, the delivery was very reasonable and quick. The staff I spoke to on the phone were so friendly and helpful. And the food was amazing!! Will absolutely be ordering again

07/12/2025: I hosted my baby shower at Red Cow inn and it was fantastic! The space was beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what I needed to make the day special. Even though I set up everything myself, the venue made it easy and stress free. I would definitely recommend it for anyone planning a celebration! With booking they were very informative and got back to me quickly, i cant recommend them more!

07/06/2026: Food took a very long time to come. Nice enough place but I would not be in a hurry back. Food was cold. Service not great.

28/10/2025: Really great tea and coffee and cakes and deli items. Also you really have to try their basil-and-lime dressing for salads, it’s astonishing! We always get a couple of extra bottles to have at home on our salads. Delicious!

14/10/2025: I preferred the Country Bake. The cappuccinos we were served at Thyme Out were not hot and weak in strength. Chocolate chip cookies were good.
