26/02/2025: Nancys is the top bar to go out in Limerick. The staff are cool and the bouncers are sound. Great pint of guinness in the front bar. All age groups and good music. Now I will update my review. 4 months after the above post I lost my jacket there last week and the staff ended up getting it back and rang me and I collected it the next day. So happy because my car keys were in it.

23/02/2025: Bouncers - Positive experience I have to call out a really sound bouncer who let three family members, guys in their early 20s, in on Christmas Eve for a couple of quiet pints. Bouncer was cautious but nice. Have met family and friends there for lunches and drinks a few times since. A real Irish pub.

05/02/2025: Came in for the lunch takeaway and left a little disappointed. Used to be really good but recently quality and taste has gone a bit down hill. Not impressed with no more Parmesan cheese (supposedly it’s now in the sauce) also spicy sausage no longer that spicy and actually quite bland.

18/02/2025: We booked our table based on the social media posts about a unique steak experience with live jazz and wine pairings. This wasn’t exactly delivered. When we arrived we stood in a long queue despite having a reservation. The couple in front of us had no reservation but were seated at a table in front of the saxophone player. Myself and my partner were instead sat at a table literally at the host desk where my chair was knocked against EVERY SINGLE TIME someone came through the door. I constantly felt in the way and could not relax. Due to our position, at a table where no one should be sat on such a busy evening, our service was interminably slow. We were then surprised to see there was no special Valentine’s Day menu offered and instead it was just the standard full menu (more expensive than the last “steak experience” advertised on your socials. When our starters came out, my partner’s mussels were served with one tiny piece of bread - no butter offered, and worse again, no spoon for the broth. Our steak took over 45 minutes to come out. When it did it was brought out table side by the chef who greeted us with the phrase “I hate doing special Valentine’s Day menus”. This seemed to line up with what our waiter told us about the special event menu being cancelled last minute- leading to all the confusion. Not ideal. He sliced our steaks and as he played it told us “oh, it’s a bit more done than it should be”. Our steak was incredibly overcooked. We ordered desert. My partner’s arrived and had his eaten by the time my desert cocktail came out. We paid 200€ for overcooked steak and to be jostled by strangers all night as they pushed past our chairs. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed and stressed out the whole night. We were sat at the worst table in the house. And all in all, it wasn’t quite the experience we signed up for based on your social posts. Before posting this review, we reached out to the restaurant via email but got no answer.

07/02/2025: Acceptable breakfast slinger. I usually get the avocado toast, which is fine. Main advantage of this place is that it has plenty of space for people with prams.

09/01/2025: Good hotel. We had a "superior" room with good views over the Lough and golf course. This is worth paying the extra for, in my opinion. Clean well maintained rooms although a little worn and old fashioned. Staff efficient and helpful.

10/02/2025: We love this place, it is THE PLACE to stay in Killybegs and we have stayed here three times now. The owners are incredibly friendly, generous, and accommodating—I won't go into how we found this out, but suffice it to say it rekindled our belief in human kindness and the generosity of the Donegal people in general. Super central location adjacent to the scenic port and great food both in the Fleet Inn itself and from The Boathouse (and sibling business The Fish Shack) next door. Personally, I think the Fleet Inn's chowder is a little more sophisticated than The Boathouse's! There's a pub/restaurant area on the ground floor where you can obtain the aforementioned chowder, other dishes from the sea and the land, plus all manner of beverages and it is a popular place with locals, and with the mariners when they are in port. Across the road is the excellent Wild Atlantic Crafts which showcases the work of local arts and crafts people.

09/02/2025: We spent a lovely evening at the bar with live music and darts on the many televisions. Would love to come back.

17/02/2025: Offbeat has been a family favourite for years, but my nephew and I were very happy to see any doughnuts containing nuts separated from others at this location. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and we can't risk an allergic reaction. The staff were polite and friendly, and they had a great selection available despite it being around 6pm.
