The best restaurants

07/06/2026: Traveled through the West of Ireland and when I arrived in Ballina, I walked around town in the evening. Asked around for trad and got told to go to Rouse's. Went in for just a pint, left 4 hours later. Everybody was very friendly, I loved the atmosphere, had great chats and even got invited to sing. It felt very communal and like most knew each other - but I still felt very much included. Had one of the best nights I've had in Ireland so far. Thanks so much!

30/05/2026: Our stay was nice enough. The room had many amenities, the bathroom was great, especiallythe shower. The weather was warm and there is no AC, so the room was quite stuffy, no air movement. The breakfast was a good spread of hot items, fruit, cereal, pastries, juices, tea and coffee. If you are planning to golf you'll have something to do, otherwise not so much. Our dinner was very tasty and the service was good.

28/05/2026: After we had already booked and paid for this hotel, we received an email saying that there was going to be a private event, and we wouldn't have access to the castle for a 24-hour period. We were staying in one of the lodges. Reading the reviews after the fact, we realized that this has happened to others before. Since the hotel and lodges are on an island, this is particularly problematic. The only other place to get food on the island was at the golf club. The night we went there, they were having a golf event, so we were seated by ourselves in the banquet room. They had run out of the one dish we could eat. The food and wine were mediocre. This hotel needs to do a MUCH better job accommodating its other guests when it is having a private event.

07/09/2026: Excellent bar to watch the Premiereship Matches, the sound is on, probably the only bar that has decent TVs and sound in Killarney town, Guinness is excellent. All good!

24/05/2026: Best pizza and pasta in town! Massive thanks to the brilliant Fabio and family for the consistently delicious food, top quality service and the great craic every time we visit. The girls absolutely love your pizza. Looking forward to visiting again!

24/08/2026: This Bar does Coffee during the day, its dog friendly, staff are always lovely, its a great place for a quiet coffee before the train if traveling, great spot!

27/07/2026: Great understated, honest local pub.. good pint and pm sambo's. It's a 'What you see is what you get' type of place. Flowers and outdoor space are a great addition. So worth a visit.

26/08/2026: Rudest bartender I’ve ever seen, appalling behavior. Could be nice inside but a bit dingy and lights were really bright. Will never comeback due to the behavior of the bartender.

24/09/2026: We’ve been in Ireland for a week, and you can only eat so much seafood or stew. I wanted donor/kebab and this was right across the street. It was delicious, super fresh and hot. Just the right amount of spice.

18/09/2026: All was perfect ,food ,drinks , staff … 5 star.Only let down ,was 2 blonde women with a poor dog ,the doggo was criing ,barking constantly on the terrace area ,the women give a sh*t about it.This is animal cruelty, you can not let this in your permises ,was very annoying .

21/08/2026: Went in for lunch on Friday at 12 noon ish. We got the roast turkey and the fish and chips and all was absolutely beautiful. It had a nice atmosphere, not too crowded and not too quiet. We'll be back thanks so much

07/04/2026: Went there for brunch because 'beag' was closed. I was sorry I bothered. There was a choice of soups on the blackboard, so I ordered 2 BLT wraps and 2 butternut & tomato soups. Ten minutes later the server came to the table to inform us the soups was sold out, all soups were sold out, I think there was a choice of soups. This was at 12:30 hrs. Who runs out of soup before lunch. Best guess: forgot to make soup. The BLT wraps didn't contain bacon but ham from a packet, tasteless tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise. The coffee tasted like it was made that morning and reheated. Oh! take down the Christmas tree it's April.

15/01/2026: Nice coffee. The staff were kind and it was a cozy interior. Didn’t try and food but it looked good. Will note they closed at 3pm rather than 4pm as listed on google.

23/03/2026: Great stay at Kilbrackan Arms Hotel! The room was very comfortable. We enjoyed Guinness and pizza the night before in a lovely, typical Irish pub atmosphere. Breakfast pancakes were delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Overall, a great experience!

30/06/2026: We popped in at 6pm easily seated in the really busy local gem , the food was delicious the service was great and definitely worth a return visit and must add really really good value for what we had to eat
