The best restaurants

06/09/2026: I can't even believe this happened. I literally just walked past the pub after Dunnes Stores and heard some lovely live music so walked in. I think there was some sort of mix up where my first drink was put on the event tab. I wasn't asking for anything for free and went to buy a second drink later. What happened next is hard to even believe. The bartender who offered me the drink was later on shouting at me saying that I didn't know that the whole bar was actually some private closed off event (keep in mind I had been there for hours with no idea of this) and then a man was suddenly like "you better get out or I will call the gardai" on me for not knowing I was at some private party. It was all very confusing and startling after being there for hours.

30/08/2026: Friendly staff, a real mix of people in the place enjoying themselves. It's clean, comfortable and the food is good.

11/09/2026: ​I was walking around town and fancied a cup of tea in the main square when I came across Clongibbon House. I popped into the bar/restaurant and was so glad I did. The atmosphere is lovely, and the staff were absolute superstars—super friendly and welcoming. ​While I only had tea this time around, the food being served to the other tables looked incredible. I’ll definitely be back for a full meal next time. Highly recommended!

05/09/2026: The food is excellent. The GF menu is a lot more limited than they say. The menu says all the dishes can be made GF, but the reality is that you can only get ONE pasta dish. The pizza seems to get you more variety.

30/08/2026: Located in the heart of the vibrant Latin Quarter, it offers a warm, rustic, and decidedly casual atmosphere. Perfect for those who want to experience the energy of the city center. Fresh homemade pasta and pizza made with dough left to rise for 72 hours are served. The tiramisu and extensive selection of antipasti are highly praised. During peak weekend hours, service can sometimes be slow or a bit inattentive due to the heavy traffic.

18/03/2026: The room was great and the included breakfast was fantastic! Also a perfect location for a one night stopover to fully enjoy the Latin Quarter. However, the check-in experience really dampened our enthusiasm. Expecting Galway would be busy for St Patrick's weekend, a few months ago we researched hotel rates and reserved at HH's "special offer" at the time, €199/night. Definitely higher than every other city/town on our 2 week trip, but assumed high season in a city. Waiting in line at check-in though, two separate parties of walk-in/no reservations ahead of us were offered the current special of almost 50% less, €105. When we asked if we could switch to this rate, we were told this was not possible, we would have had to cancel our existing reservation 48 hours in advance and then re-book at the current offer rate. The only option was being upgraded to a larger room. We had not paid for the room yet, and the reservation was directly through the hotel, not a 3rd party booking site. Very disappointing initial impression of an otherwise enjoyable visit.

14/03/2026: I booked at the very last minute on the bus when I arrived in Galway, and what a wonderful surprise! Everything was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. I was greeted by a very kind young lady whose name I unfortunately forget, and then Paige took over and looked after everything with incredible care. Truly exceptional service. The room was magnificent, incredibly quiet, soft, and comfortable. The bottle of Prosecco included in my package was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. As for the bed… simply heavenly! The hotel is ideally located right in the city center, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! All the staff are smiling, welcoming, and very professional. And for such quality, the price is very reasonable. I recommend this establishment 2000% and sincerely hope to have the opportunity to return someday. A huge thank you to the entire team!

15/08/2026: We eat takeaway meals from here regularly. Have always found them to be tasty and large portion sizes. Nothing to complain about!

03/07/2026: Best chinese in bandon, the food is good, the service is friendly and the price isnt sky high.

16/09/2026: Not a huge veggie menu however the lovely staff were very accommodating and we left with full belly’s:)

08/09/2026: I ordered the poached eggs with bacon. The eggs while soft & edible looked dreadful, the fat on the rashers was translucent and could have been cooked for another few minutes. The eggs weren't drained before placing on the plate so water on the plate. Staff were friendly. Food way to dear for what is provided. Updated review August 2026 Went back and ordered the poached eggs and bacon. Eggs cooked perfectly so upgraded from 3stars to 4stars

30/06/2026: The hotel staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble to each and everyone of them,, the location was perfect right on the edge of town ,,the bedrooms were very comfortable and the decor was really nice attention to detail was excellent we will be back.

26/08/2026: We just had a coffee, but what a coffee! I tried the iced americano with a scoop of coconut lime sorbet — a special creation. I'm not usually a fan of lemon in ice cream, but this was really good. The sorbet was clearly homemade and fresh, the coffee very good too. I had the decaf version. At €5.50, totally worth it. Their drinks are really creative — iced white with pineapple and Tabasco with Cuban coffee, sweet tea with iced chai and pomegranate, Floral Green with iced matcha and elderflower. A menu you don't find everywhere. The barista was smiling, warm, and professional. Not many seats inside, better to sit down for this kind of drink. A few chairs outside. Blue front door, dark green tables, posters and photos on the walls. Very authentic and rustic — simple wooden benches, casual and friendly. It felt like mostly regulars and locals, not tourists. Groups might struggle to find space, especially at peak times or weekends, but it's worth taking away if that happens. Behind South Mall, next to Izz Café. Discreet but worth finding. A bit noisy, but we could still talk easily. Didn't try the pastries or use the toilets. I'll definitely come back. A great little café in Cork.

01/08/2026: I have never ever had a bad coffee from filter. Have been going here since they opened, and they are the most consistent for perfect coffee. Amazing job, Eoin & Alex :)

27/08/2026: Always stop here when travelling through as their chai is divine! Their loose tea’s to purchase are great and I can have a bit of the chai magic at home.

29/07/2026: Love dropping in to this cafe for a flat white and croissant after kayaking on the Shannon. Excellent coffee roasted locally and I love the new interior design 🙌

05/07/2026: I Ordered Cheese Pizza, Chips Can Of Coke Zero and Dip At Around 5 18pm and Delivery Was Quick Because The Town Is Quiet On Sunday Evening and The Delivery Driver Is Friendly. I Would Order Here Again.

03/07/2026: Ordered pizza, fries, and cookies. The food arrived quickly, which I appreciated, but unfortunately everything tasted quite bland and wasn't particularly enjoyable. It didn't convince me to order again, and I don't think I will. No disrespect to the staff—they were quick with the order—but I just wasn't happy with the food overall.

10/06/2026: Applegreen Paulstown is an extraordinary Facility.It has absolutely EVERYTHING ..the best coffee and crossies...the best hot food Deli and a delightful array of goodies to pick from the M+ S shop!! But what really makes Applegreen Paulstown stand out is the AMAZING Staff headed up by Phil and her Team.They are friendly welcoming and always there with a smile and a Good Morning.I always leave in good humour and well fed! Thir attention to detail....high standards and professionalism is something to behold. It is exemplary and is a model of excelllent practice nationally! Well done to Phil and Enda on a Superb Management model that works and delivers!!. You can feel the culture of collaboration and teamwork the minute you walk in the door!! It is this exemplary leadership that makes Applegreen Paulstown the best service provider that I have ever experienced. Congrats to all the staff and long may it continue. 27/03/2026: The hotel has a great location however the nightly rate of €300 B/B per night I thought was over the top for the standard, the hotel is tired and needs some upgrades

05/01/2026: Beautiful place to stay. Food excellent. Staff very attentive and friendly. Only thing that was lacking was the Christmas decorations inside and out. It was between Christmas and New Year we stayed a few days.
