01/10/2024: Had a lovely lunch here. The food was delicious and well presented, the staff were really nice and it was a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend and will be visiting again!

24/07/2024: The milkshakes are the delicious treat with perfect amount of toppings must I add staff very helpful and friendly when I had a bag that I would’ve had to carry around town all day but I asked for the worker to mind my bag and I would drop me later she said no problem and took the bag politely I later came back nothing missing and no charge for her minding it.Food is banging.milkshakes give me the chills 🥶🥶.Piniple on the pizza is delicious the cheese doesn’t fall of the pizza at all everything is perfect 20/10 eveythinf

19/12/2024: I had the most incredible takeaway experience at this restaurant, thanks to the amazing lady who went above and beyond to accommodate my unique dietary needs. I have a low-FODMAP sensitivity, am gluten intolerant, and also allergic to gums and starches (which are often used in gluten-free cooking). Despite these challenges, she took the time to carefully listen and truly understand my restrictions. She worked closely with the kitchen to create a safe and delicious meal that didn’t include any of my allergens. Her patience, attention to detail, and genuine care were absolutely heartwarming. Dining out with allergies can be daunting, but her efforts made me feel completely at ease. I highly recommend this place for anyone with complex dietary needs—it’s a rare gem!

29/12/2024: I had a lovely 12 pubs experience and this was my second to last stop. The Gentlemen behind the bar looked after me and the customers were extremely friendly considering they were asking "who the feck is this Rambo" love the bar and the hot whiskey. Will return again

01/02/2025: I hate to do this, but I've had a pretty bad experience. First time trying to order. Waited two hours for pizza to deliver, having paid for the order over the phone. Tried to call, spent about forty minutes calling to no answer. I then called the pub's number a few times and, when I eventually got an answer, no one seemed to know what was going on. The call was disconnected, and I had to call back - this happened three times. The person I initially spoke to wasn't very helpful and I had to ask them to try find someone who knew about the restaurant. I was passed over to another member of staff who informed me that the restaurant was closed and that the order couldn't be delivered. We then tried to process a refund over the phone a couple of times, but the card machine wasn't working. I was then asked to call in to the pub the following morning at 10am tocollect a cash refund, which I declined as I would be in work and honestly found this an unreasonable request. I will be truthful and say I started to get pretty frustrated here, while remaining respectful, and had to say that some solution would have to be found to process a refund. I was asked to hold. Eventually it was decided that they would Revolut me the refund. I provided my number and had contact over Whatsapp to provide my Revolut details, which thankfully led to the refund being processed. All in, a pretty terrible experience. And with little to no acknowledge of the fact.

04/02/2025: We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Talbot Hotel Carlow, and I can confidently say it was an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, setting the tone for a fantastic stay. We stayed in the Killeshin Suite, and it was nothing short of luxurious. The suite had its own entrance hall, a beautifully designed living room with a flat-screen TV, and a separate, spacious bedroom featuring a super king-sized bed and another flat-screen TV—perfect for when my partner wanted to catch up on sports while I enjoyed my own programmes. The thoughtful welcome chocolates and greeting card left in the suite were a lovely touch, making us feel instantly valued as guests. The attention to detail extended to the bathroom, where the fabulous waterfall shower was an absolute treat. The fluffy bathrobes and slippers added an extra level of comfort, making it feel like a true home away from home. We dined in the restaurant, and the food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and served by the most welcoming staff. Their passion for hospitality was evident in every interaction, making our meal all the more enjoyable. The following morning, we took full advantage of the swim/spa area, enjoying a refreshing swim, followed by a relaxing sauna and steam session. It was the perfect way to start the day before indulging in a delicious breakfast that left us more than satisfied. The later checkout was also a welcome luxury, allowing us to savour the experience just a little bit longer. A special thank you to the wonderful team at The Talbot Carlow. I want to give particular recognition to Kelly in reservations, Kerri at check-in, and Danielle and Sarah at reception. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail truly made a lasting impression. They are a credit to the hotel and embody the high standards of service that make The Talbot stand out. Having worked in the hospitality and accommodation industry for years, I can confidently say that The Talbot Hotel Carlow is more than just a building—it’s the heart of Carlow, offering an experience that stays with you long after you leave. 14/02/2025: What a wonderful place to be in blackrock! The staff at insomnia were fantastic, increadibly kind and helpful after I accidentally spilt my coffee, they couldn’t have been nicer, and made me a fresh one! Great service and great coffee. Well done to the team!

22/12/2024: Coffee is good but there's no plug sockets so if like me you want (need) to work while having a coffee, you can't. In fairness I should have asked that when asking 'do you have WiFi' (to which the answer was yes).

11/02/2025: Love this place for pre-Theatre meal. Great, authentic atmosphere and decor and the restaurant has lots of Asian clientele. Food is delicious and very decent wine list.

31/01/2025: Lamentablemente fue muy malo, me dieron el desayuno para llevar y cuando llegué a casa había 1 pequeña salchicha cortada en media raspadora que era como cuero un huevo sobrecocido con un fino untable de pudín blanco, realmente ha ido cuesta abajo estaba allí hace un par de años y era excelente, todavía con hambre costaba 6 . 90 muy decepcionado ☹️

18/01/2025: Lads, it's a small but important point, communication with customers. Update your Google opening hours, second Saturday in a row you're closed while Google hours state open. I'm not going to bother checking again. I'll go elsewhere. When small businesses complain about how hard it is to survive, this is a great example of how the focus on driving a business, getting and retaining new customers is miles away from where it should be.

09/12/2024: I taught they had a nice menu myself my mum and daughter ordered 3 chicken wraps I asked waitress before was it spicy chicken she replied no it was not spicy at all I said we do not like spicy and she said no not spicy .we ended up not been able to eat the chicken wraps because they were too spicy for us we were very upset she didn't ask us one time was everything OK and she could see we just ate our chips and coleslaw I payed almost 50 euro to leave the food behind us and she did not even apologise when I told her the wraps were very spicy

23/10/2024: Cosy place. We ordered crispy duck and chicken wings. Duck came with creamy mash and steamed veg while chicken came with fresh salad. For dessert, we had cheesecake. I love my cheesecakes and this one definitely didn't disappoint. Overall, food was lovely, they're flavourful and service was quick and friendly. Prices are definitely lower than other restaurants but with similar or better quality. We'll be back. Thank you!
