The best restaurants

29/03/2026: I was an hour early for my NCT so I popped in for a browse and a coffee. What a place. Such a quaint little shop with loads of nice bits for the home and a lovely seating area out the back. Fantastic place to read a book early in the morning. I was served by a lovely girl at the counter.

15/03/2026: Gorgeous unusual gift shop with a lovely coffee shop, such a cosy quirky atmosphere and lovely little semi covered garden to enjoy in the heart of the town.

27/08/2026: The 2 people at the front were very friendly. Excellent service, very polite and friendly.

25/08/2026: The food was great and the person who helped us was so nice and helpful. His name was Ayush and he was lovely.

23/08/2026: After passing through Killarney and Dingle, this was the best place we found on this stretch of coast to buy quality Irish oysters at a good price! You can also buy the knife to shuck them, and they even offer you the lemon. Plus, there's a sushi restaurant next door that we didn't get a chance to try, but given the quality of the fish at the shop, it can only be very good.

04/07/2026: June 2026: On this visit I only used their Spa. I had a family home nearby (and return to Ireland a couple of times per year) and have experienced this spa routinely over the years. The quality of the Spa has dramatically changed. I tried to give feedback to their Spa manager to give them an opportunity to listen instead of posting publicly. However the manager made no attempt to reach out for the feedback. There were 3 of us visiting on that day and all had the same disappointing experience. I want others to be aware and maybe G Spa will pay attention to the public feedback and hopefully make changes to improve the quality of all future patrons. They have simplified their spa menu and do not have the range of treatment choices and details that was once offered. The Spa Menu is also misleading - I scheduled a facial clearly advertised as a customized facial (please read their spa menu for their level of detail about their facials). I am used to facials from a qualified aesthetician and go to spas fairly regularly and (to add - I do not go to high end spas so my standards of what to expect is based on a reasonable level of spa). From the minute I was taken into the treatment room - it was very dark as if I was there for a massage. The girl kept telling me to sit down and I had to tell her that I would but could not see the chair as it was too dark. She in no way looked at my face prior to the experience nor asked me anything about my skin type. And she definitely could not have assessed my face prior to or while starting the facial as the room remained dark. She proceeded to apply one oil after another on my face/neck and gave no explanation or asked questions about my skin. 5 mins in I asked her what was customizable about this facial. She said it was really a face massage. A face massage is not a therapeutic facial and I basically tolerated the application of oil after oil until the 60 mins was done - as I wanted to give it a chance and see if it got better. The therapist basically applied each step of oil in exactly the same way repeatedly and to be honest it felt like this person had little qualifications to do facials. I felt I could have hired someone with no training whatsoever and told them how to apply each product with the same sweeping movements and ended up with the exact same level of service. Was this just one therapist? My sister while she had more interaction with her facial therapist got the exact same repeated application of oils for the duration of her facial. Also, the quality of the products they now use is also a downgrade of what they used to use. I would not have booked this treatment had the description been accurate - I would have considered it a complete waste of money for my needs. We also did the thermal spa prior to the treatment. This was also a very disappointing experience. We all started to wonder about the general cleanliness of the thermal spa. The water seemed cloudy (I would like to know when and how often they treat the water to keep it hygienic given the high numbers of people who use the thermal spa). Also, there was another customer who spent at least 30 mins monopolizing the overhead jets pounding on his back and chest splashing everyone in the whole pool so others in the thermal spa had to leave the pool and seek relaxation elsewhere. Not G spas fault I'll admit nor could they have known about it unless they were told which they were as we checked out so they can be aware of such behavior in the future and monitor the well-bing of all patrons in the future.

26/06/2026: This is a great hotel but it’s not really within walking distance of anything but we had a car and loved the soundproofed room:)!!! Thanks to Jack who helped us get into a different room that suited us better. We definitely wouldn’t hesitate coming back!

20/06/2026: Pastries were unpleasantly salty. Did you use salted butter?

13/06/2026: Wonderful bakery! All the goods are so flavorful and yummy. Only regret is I can only eat so much.

07/08/2026: OMG, all the different flavours of milkshake, thick tasty milkshake. The ice-cream, the cakes, atmosphere, service, everything. Absolutely amazing. Thank you Carter's.

30/07/2026: Nice espresso and hot chocolate, lovely place and they also give you a small free chocolate with your coffee so I would definitely recommend it

25/04/2026: Went for dinner. Verry good sea food. Lady in the restaurant is verry friendly. Great service.

02/04/2026: Excellent food, charming atmosphere, friendly service. Good value for money. One point deducted because it was quite cold inside; we were there at the beginning of April.

01/04/2026: Very welcoming staff with good facilities, although tye rooms could do with a mirror and dressing table for the ladies. Located within a 3-5 minute walk to the centre of Tullamore.

13/08/2026: Only go here for quick takeaway coffees. Today a €1 tip was added to my card payment for a coffee, without asking. I only noticed later. It’s not about the money , it’s the attitude. Service there is never great and communication is often difficult with staff who have poor English. I won’t be back, much better options nearby.

21/07/2026: They don't ask about the size, they just knock out the biggest one. They didn't ask if it was here or not, so we sat down at a table with a glass to take away

18/08/2026: INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING AND STRESSFUL FAMILY EXPERIENCE!! We booked for 6:30 PM. Just 5 min after arrival , we were looking into the menu , but a lady who came to take the orders told, "You gotta Order quick, I want the table back at 8:00." This was the beginning of the unpleasant service . The lady rushed us constantly, checking our table every five minutes. Even worse, I was dining with my 7-year-old autistic daughter, who needs a cartoon playing to stay regulated. Another customer complained about the phone volume . This is the first time I'm going through such an unpleasant experience. On top of that, the name is completely misleading—they do not even serve lobster anymore, which hasn't been disclosed anywhere. We felt so unwelcome and harassed that we left our food, paid the bill, and walked out. Avoid this place if you want a relaxed, autism-friendly environment.

04/08/2026: Seafood chowder was 10/10. Fresh haddock pan fried with chips and a homemade tartare sauce also beautiful. Service very good. Definitely one to visit.

07/04/2026: Fun fact: once owned by Bono. Excellent location for everything, sights, tours, Guinness, shopping, etc. Can be noisy because it's located in Temple Bar district.

18/03/2026: Visited, 13 of us, 2013, was terrific. The Clarence location allowed us to walk to all of Dublin's sights. No cars on bridge over River Liffey out photo point. Less chaotic and more minstrels , jigs, on cobblestone streets -The Porterhouse, the best part of Temple Bar.

23/08/2026: We went to the chili club in a group of 15, which we were able to sit upstairs in a private space. Food was amazing, 10/10 doesn’t even describe it. It came out so quickly and were so accomodating. We ordered a range of meals between curries to noodles. Added dessert on to top it off and that was also amazing. As we are from Australia, when we return to Ireland, we will be coming back to this hidden gem

02/08/2026: Absolutely divine. Impeccable service, a vibrant Italian atmosphere, succulent and generous dishes. A true delight. Italian cuisine just like home cooking. A very pleasant surprise. Bravo!

05/08/2026: Literally my favourite pizza on the planet, after travelling to over 120 countries and 7 continents Firehouse waa my comfort food for 14 years. I hope they're not out of business.

04/05/2026: Unfortunately, it was only takeaway, but overall we were very impressed. The pizza was delicious, and the dip was very tasty. There was also plenty of topping.

23/08/2026: Got the 6 piece falafel and it was delicious and came with bread and dips. Definitely recommend!

08/07/2026: Second time the guys have made the most scabby, mean, stingy, breaded halloumi wrap. I asked him not to be so mean with the salad as the last one was terrible with no salad, barely any salad the wrap is the size of an empty pancake. I don't think he speaks English at all. The girl working in Umj on little Mary street makes the most excellent wrap. Avoid the Rathmines branch unless you want to starve for your money. Just miserable in attitude as well.
