The best restaurants

08/02/2025: The cappuccino was ok. The menu says it's €3.65, then at the till they wanted to charge me €3.95. Very sloppy management. The delusions of grandeur are obvious. Avoid, Bistro 18 is way better.

27/01/2025: Update January 2025 Cleanliness standards slipping. Love stopping here for lunch anytime in the area. On Saturday 25th January we stopped there as usual. I had no clue what the guy behind the food counter was saying to me. (His first language was english) He had to repeat himself three times, and I had to get someone else to interpret. What he was trying to tell me was that the salmon would be served cold! I knew that, but he made no effort to convey that ease piece of unnecessary information. The food was delicious though. The restaurant was very unkempt, tables full of previous diners trays etc. One table had 8 used coffee cups which had to be moved by the next customers, and eventually another customer asked one of the staff to help. Another table had a significant amount of food on the floor underneath. There is a generation of workers out there now who don't understand that when things get busy (regardless of the business) YOU WORK FASTER. I don't blame the staff at that level, I blame whoever is supposed to be training them. It's not good enough for the Avoca Brand - you charge enough for your products, and sitting in a messy, unclean environment should not be the customer experience. --------------------------------- Previous review 2019. Fantastic well stocked luxury goods shop with excellent self service cafe upstairs. A little expensive, but for me a nice treat when I'm leaving Dublin or arriving from Cork. Love the healthy range of lunches as well as everything else. Easily accessible from the M7 motorway

22/01/2025: Food here is excellent for a takeaway always fresh and great variety. The only thing I would say could improve and they are fab anyway is they have no seasoning on the gougons and chicken fillets or its very light you can't taste it. But overall it's one of the best I have been to in Cork and only came across it by accident.

19/10/2024: I've eaten in and had deliveries.. Amazing chicken sandwich not the same anymore, either too spicy or not enough sauce. Was planing on ordering tomorrow but just looked at your prices... Gone through the roof.. Amazing chicken used to be €10 in 2021.. Now €14.. That's some inflation...

23/11/2024: I’m not a person for writing reviews but the service in this place is absolutely chronic. The wait for food you would be expecting something nice but it’s far from nice the chips were like they were reheated from the day before they were as dry as a ghandies flip flop the starter was cold the burger wasn’t anything to boast about and staff are absolutely clueless and rude. I would advice stay walking and grab a jumbos

15/12/2024: Stopped in while exploring Achill during our honeymoon. Lovely, lively and warm. Jackie is a ray of sunshine on a dreary day!

07/12/2024: Love this place. Packed with local characters who are friendly- you'd think they knew you all your life! A peat fire a great Guinness and music on Sundays will round off your visit to Achill.
