30/01/2025: Has been one of my favorite places for years, great food, lovely staff, whether dining in or taking away, it never disapoints.
The Lab Gai is my favorite dish, if you can handle the heat,
but it's all lovely, think have tried every dish at this point.
Highly recommend!!!
Update - The Food is still as amazing as ever, great staff, the manager who runs the place is so proffesional, she'd do well in any High End restaurant in London or Paris.

21/01/2025: This business left unprovoked hateful comments on my personal Instagram page I assume because of political disagreements. I love small businesses but not ones who harass people online. I wouldn't trust them serving me food and you shouldn't either.

31/12/2024: Family dinner 10 adults 5 children on 27th dec. the room was very cold and many items were not on the menu as hotel had been closed for 2 days. I am a pensioner and asked for half portion of curry, i could not eat full portion, but was told that the chef does not permit half portions. So i just took soup but, my mistake i did not ask the type of soup …. it was tomato soup which i could not eat! The other 9 adults were very happy with their food choice. I think that older people should be permitted to order smaller portions, rather than full portion and throwing out a lot of it, we should be encouraged to reduce food waste.
14/11/2024: The environment is truly charming, with a wall full of books that adds a unique touch to the atmosphere. The food is satisfactory, neither exceptional nor disappointing, overall providing an acceptable dining experience.

25/09/2024: Nice pub, pity about the absolute pr**k of an owner. After speaking in other pubs I found out most of the people in Kinsale feel the same about him. Hamlets pub nextdoor is a by far nicer pub.
18/09/2024: Very friendly bar staff take care of the guests. Whenever we're in the area again, we'll be happy to come back.

Just finished my veggie burger and it was absolutely minging. Bread was soggy, patty tasted metallic and chips were freezing. I'm about to pay 20 euro for this bollix and I'm really unimpressed, won't be returning any time soon please do better eddie rockets!
27/01/2025: One of the best burgers I’ve ever had, this really changed my world. We have awesome burgers in the US, but this really surprised me. The jukebox brought my wife and I back to our wedding night, what a night! Cherished memories in Ireland! ☘️☘️ Dia Duit!

06/01/2025: Never been in a public pub like it. Felt very discriminated against in this pub. My partner has ADHD and can talk loudly. But not out of turn, he just speaks at a higher tone then others, we were having a great conversation, only to be told we cannot be served again. This public house is NOT sUitable for those with ADHD/AUTISM . In this day and age , I am very disgusted at this. We were also threatned by the barman Joe with the guards if I did not leave. Debating whether to take this further as a case of discrimination with my solicitor. But I am hoping the barman Joe , sees this and apolozies for HIS wrong doing ASAP. As this public house would be a turn off for anyone with ADHD/autism/special needs etc

08/12/2024: Small hotel very well located as it is very close to the river and close to Avenida O'Connell.
The Academy has a correct service, very clean and comfortable rooms as well as a very correct restaurant and breakfast service.
05/11/2024: "Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience at this hotel. The location feels unsafe, as the area is populated with many homeless individuals, and the street itself seems rather uninviting. While the staff members were kind, helpful, and clearly doing their best, it's apparent that they haven’t received adequate training or support from management.
The hotel itself is quite dated, with old furniture that could use some updating. While some of the rooms have been refurbished and are reasonably comfortable, the overall atmosphere feels neglected. Breakfast was enjoyable, but if safety and a more modern experience are priorities, this might not be the best choice."

01/01/2025: Friendly locals are sociable to chat with. Bar staff is punctual and attentive to customers' requests.
A listening ear of the bar staff goes a long way when ordering at the bar, with prompt service. Can find a cosy, comfortable seat, and relax and also socialise with customers ad hoc. I highly recommend O' Reillys bar, I loved the sociable atmosphere and clientele!

05/10/2024: A simple, simple, but very clean restaurant. The service was friendly. The menu is small but nice. Fish dishes predominate here. We had the rainbow trout fillet and the pork chop. Both very, very good. Gladly again.
01/10/2024: During a Ring of Kerry tour we stopped to eat at this restaurant. It was the first time I ate oysters and the combination with a good Guinness was very successful. Pleasant place and friendly managers. Recommended 👍

07/01/2025: Went to burger king food took ages there was a lady manager who was a bit rude food was nice but no napkins or cause offered had to ask twice to be honest I wouldn't recommend this place burger king is generally good just this one not so good seems to be a lot of Supervisors standing around talking
