12/10/2025: I like the place,went for swimming but the water was cold

04/10/2025: I have been using Leisure centre for about 3 years, it is notoriously the worst gym in Portlaoise on account of the small space lacking some serious equipment and horrible changing room facilities. I still enjoyed it as the price correlated to the quality/size and was usually quite and had a lovely crowd. When renewing my membership after the remodel the price had sky rocketed only being a few euros cheaper then Midlands which has much better classes, changing rooms, spa discounts, etc. There is an obvious issue with maintaining staff especially in the last few months. Most of the staff inside the gym are lovely but the front desk staff always seem to have a horrible attitude and seem frustrated with the most basic questions. What has driven me to the point of a negative review is there has been a huge influx of children/very young teenagers using the gym. Younger people being there would not be an issue if they werent so disruptive, they are wrestling each other, half of them wearing school uniforms (jeans) leaving phones and other belongings over all the equipment that they’re not using so it cannot be used by other members. If say your using a bench in the dumbbell section theres 5 kids crowding around one on another and they are accidentally sitting on top of you and bumping into you with weights in hand making it impossible to work out. Not to mention the fact they’re constantly hitting, pushing, and pulling at each other around other people who are paying a high price to just clear their head after a long work day. The gym is much too expensive for what it is and to pay that much to not be able to workout because they have no regard for anyone else and staff instead of asking them to mellow down a little are fistbumping them, taking selfies with them and actively encouraging the behaviour. My partner asked the other day who was in charge and the woman who identified herself as so, I asked her this Thursday what time does the gym close at on Saturdays and she said half 5 yet this Saturday was kicked out at 5 because “they’re closed.” They keep repainting the place but no effort to maintain the changing rooms or maintain any sort of gym environment. If I had paid for the month I would simply change gyms but I paid for the year in May and have noticed such a drastic steady decline since then. Extremely disappointing.

27/02/2026: Not what you'd call FAST food and also missing part of the order very disappointing 😕

26/02/2026: Ordered large meals got served regular. Gravy that is normally amazing tasted watered down. Fries lacked the signature seasoning. Kids were served ice-cream at the same time as their meal so it melted. Had to go back for missing drinks. Coffee tasted purely of chemicals. Couldnt drink it. Not the service I am used to compared to kfc in little island.

17/03/2026: Not 24hrs as stated. Went here 0400 on Patrick's Day after work and it was closed. Car park was full of people with the same idea but the restaurant was closed. I used to enjoy a triple cheeseburger from the drive thru after the night shift, Unfortunately they don't sell them anymore so I won't be returning as a double isn't quite the same.

18/01/2026: Extremely disappointing experience. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, there was a very unpleasant smell at the entrance, which already raised concerns about cleanliness, especially the bathrooms. We had a reservation for 1:00 PM, but once upstairs we were told the restaurant only opened at 1:30 PM, which made no sense. To make things worse, when we tried to order drinks, we were informed that drinks would only be available at 3:30 PM. This was not communicated anywhere in advance. This visit was meant to celebrate a special occasion — a birthday — and the lack of organization, poor communication, and overall unprofessionalism completely ruined the experience. Very frustrating, and unfortunately not a place we would recommend.

18/01/2026: Had one of the best experiences of desi cuisine in Dublin. Thanks to Sowra who helped me have the dishes to suit the weather and keep me relaxed at the same time. The dahi samosa chat is a must try and the daal tadka too! Shoutout to the team for hosting us. Keep it up guys!

21/09/2025: Very unwelcoming staff. Food was sad and miserable. My pork roast was completely dried out, the rest of the food wasn't much better.

27/08/2025: Ate lunch here before flying out of Cork airport. We both ordered burgers. I noticed how quickly they came out and how fast other tables got their food too. I worked in hotels myself for years and that is not necessarily a good sign. The burgers themselves were ok but they seemed somewhat ready made. We both had upset stomachs by the evening time. I do not recommend. The staff and service were excellent. I can’t give more than 1 star because of the food issue.

11/12/2025: The Jack MC is easily one of the best burgers I have ever eaten in Ireland. The quality of the ingredients is top notch and the fries are excellent! I would highly recommend the Locke Burger.

30/08/2025: We love this spot. The bakery stuff is pretty good, I wish they had a microwave to warm the them. Coffee is okay and the environment is already pretty. You could swing by Box’d for a coffee after a walk in the path.

14/12/2025: Wow, a real french bakery in Cork. So tasty, and various choice of delishes.

27/11/2025: It was just okay for what I ordered, but there were other things that looked good, it was on my way, I might go back tomorrow and improve the review and the experience.

11/01/2026: Some of the items we bought were nice found it a bit pricy and the place is very messy the si down part is now used as a storage area and is in full view of customers also man making pizza was not wearing any PPE hair exposed clothes grubby

03/12/2025: Food is always delicious! Waiting time can be long on the weekends but so worth the wait!

12/10/2025: Lovely little café. Staff were super friendly and the coffee and pastry, delicious. Prices were excellent. Highly recommend.

21/09/2025: The bagels are tasty when they’re actually in stock but two weekends in a row they have not had the bagels and cream cheese spread we wanted. They should really be making sure they have enough stock for weekends. If this continues I just won’t keep coming back. Staff aren’t in the slightest apologetic, just a that’s the way it is attitude. Coffee is average.

21/10/2025: Closed 6 mins early when I was rushing for a coffee not happy two workers told me it was closed when it clearly states it stays open till 6 !!!

12/03/2026: Nicest smoked cod I’ve had for a while Very good chicken The chips are very nice and the mon-wed specials are great Always worth a try.

15/11/2025: Definitely best takeaway in Enniscorthy. Fabulous friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. This place is spotless, I got the fish and chips and a family snack box, got to say it was 10 out of 10. Keep up the great work, see you Sunday for more delicious food

18/10/2025: I enjoy coming here mostly for coffee, but sadly none of the staff are barista trained. Would be a lot nicer if the coffee was being made to a better standard.

17/10/2025: The worst breakfast ever laid on front of me, within 5 minutes of ordering. Eggs benedict, most likey sat under a heat lamp for god knows how long, yolk was like rubber. Same with the eggs my partner had with the full Irish breakfast. You've too much on the menu and obviously can't handle the variety, so everything is made and heated up, either that or your chef hates their job. The young waistress was nice and shouldn't have to apologise for someone else's crap work. Wouldn't go near the place again if you paid me. Edit- seen as I can't reply to your response. My partner sent his eggs back, what he got back was the exact same! Rubber eggs. Have you read how many reviews complain about your eggs? And I've had 20+ years in retail, not one single complaint, down to my knowledge and experience of customer service, that you clearly lack. Your 'chef' can't make eggs, simple as that. You haven't scolded anyone else regarding their 1 star review, so I either hit a nerve or you got up on the wrong side of the bed. Anyway, good luck with your business.

22/02/2026: Had a nice quiet Coffee here one evening so not sure of menu. Only was enjoying coffee so much it went quite a few minutes after closing. ( Sunday 6.00 ) never said anything girl must have sensed my comfort lol ty nice coffee.

15/02/2026: We arrived quite late as we were travelling a few hours. When we arrived the 2 girls at reception informed us of a €150 deposit due to their “no smoking rule”, they said it was mandatory due to “people smoking before”. Think this is very unfair as the rooms aren’t cheap as it is. The girls checked us in, handed us our key cards but didn’t tell us where to go or what floor our room was on. We took the lift up, got out on the right floor but our room wasn’t there, had to walk through corridors through every door we could find to then eventually finding the room. Would be a lot more helpful if they told us where to go😊. The room was very outdated, cheap mattress which isn’t comfortable to sleep on if you suffer with back problems. The bed was pretty small for 2 people too. Window was closed but still had air coming through it which made it a bit colder in the room. The view outside wasn’t too bad, we were looking out onto the road. The bathroom is also very outdated and looks dirty if im honest, very uncomfortable to touch anything in it. There was an open door in the bathroom leading into the pipe work??? With loads of dust and spider webs in it also making it more unpleasant. No hair dryer, iron in the rooms as you need to “request them”. We were informed in the morning it would be 2+ hours until we know if we get our deposit back as “housekeepers need to check we haven’t damaged the property or smoked in the room”. Overall, was an okay stay for the night but before you stay be aware of the deposit and it’s not a big fancy place to stay in.
