The best restaurants

11/12/2025: My wife and I spent 5 nights here during our recent visit to Killarney. We really enjoyed the central location, ample amenities, prompt and attentive staff and the well appointed room. We would stay here again in the future.

07/12/2025: We were very pleased with our stay here. The location is great if you're wanting to stay on the entertainment district. There is an on site bar and restaurant. They provide free onsite off street parking behind the hotel. For my American friends there is no AC but the windows actually open all of the way for good ventilation. We would stay here again.

26/10/2025: Great bar and fantastic food. Lovely staff and great homecooked meals. A real Irish bar. Staff where very friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere and will be back again.

04/10/2025: I ordered pasta and chips The chips were vile and there was no chicken in the pasta 23 euro. threw them in the fire never again.i called and complained but the guy couldn't speak English i gave up

21/02/2026: The food was a bit cold considering how busy they were but there was table drop service. The lady who cleans the tables was lovely I have talked to her before she is very pleasant and helpful its nice to see in a McDonald's you dont see it often.

19/02/2026: People are smoking weed in the men's public restroom. Please install a fire alarm.

10/11/2025: Called in one evening without a reservation and we're seated no problem. We are both vegetarian and knew that they had a vegetarian menu - this is not on the door outside so its handy to know! Some elements of dishes were not available but the food was really great, we both had starters, mains and desserts and yes, a little more pricey than we would usually go for, but worth it for a treat in my opinion. Atmosphere and service were wonderful!

28/10/2025: Always wanted to try this restaurant. Very sorry to advise but it was an extremely disappointing experience. Staff were not trained to the standard one would expect… food really poor quality. No atmosphere. 1st and last time here.

03/01/2026: Best Chinese food I have ever tried in Athlone and maybe in my life. The service is great, the waitresses are very friendly, it's open until late at night, has good music in the background. We had satisfactory amount of food and the price is excellent, it's worth every penny.

07/09/2025: I’ve been to Golden Bites today, the new shop on Washington Street, with my young son. We were warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere was very pleasant and aesthetically nice. However, I do have some concerns. When placing my order, I made it very clear that my cappuccino should be made with oat milk (for health reasons I cannot consume dairy). Unfortunately, I received a cappuccino with regular milk. I didn’t complain at the time because I’m not the type of person who likes to create conflict at an establishment, but I mentioned twice at the counter that it should be with oat milk. Another point: I’m not sure if I was charged for two portions of grilled buttered bread since I received four slices, but I only ordered one portion, which I believe should be two slices. I also wasn’t given a receipt, so I couldn’t verify the charge. Once again, the environment is very pleasant, and the staff was kind and attentive. However, we have already experienced issues with delivery orders in the past — missing items, wrong orders, etc. I expected that visiting in person would be different, but unfortunately, the same kind of issues happened. This makes it a little difficult to want to return. I truly hope this is just something temporary due to the new location

16/11/2025: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! ordered a spice box and they didnt give it to us. not to mention the last time they took an hour and a half to come and it looked like there was a booger on the food and there was hair in it. terribly rude staff didnt even offer a refund or a new munch box. never order from here ive gotten food poisoning a few times from the chicken being uncooked too

30/12/2025: My favourite coffee shop in Newbridge! The staff in here are always so so lovely and accommodating. And insomnia in general does the nicest hot chocolate! Love coming here

23/11/2025: Ordered a flat white. It was not the best. Milk was textured wrong. It would pass as cappuccino but not flat white. Was asked if I wanted it "strong" whatever that means. Coffee itself did not taste good... Also was given a dirty knife.

09/12/2025: Not good, bought a few stuffs there, didn’t check the expiration date, some of the items are much more expensive than the other Asian shops. Kimchi package bloated when I arrived home, then I checked the expiration date, it has expired for two days. Then I checked all the stuff I bought, one of the sauces I bought has been expired for three months.

06/12/2025: The Junction CX Oriental pretty much has everything you could want from an Asian supermarket. They stock all the big names — 辛拉面, 李锦记, 旺旺, Yeo’s, 老干妈, even popular brand of candy Sweetking. There’s also a huge range of dumplings and 包子 in all sorts of flavours, plus loads of fresh fruit, veg, meat and seafood. If you’re after a proper one-stop shop for Asian ingredients, this place is honestly your best bet. I pop in most weeks, and in winter especially — they’ve got everything you need for a super delicious hotpot.

21/12/2025: Got the wrong order, when I called the shop the women was so rude it was a joke, she said she would get the food sent back when I asked how long as the chips are gonna be cold by the time my burger came she replied with “well we have to remake a new one and wait for a driver to get back from his other delivery so I can’t give you a time” the attitude and customer service was so disappointing.

27/11/2025: Staff here are always very hostile and curt in general, they are grand with their buddies and regulars but everyone else is made to feel “what are you doing here vibe” it’s borderline aggressive at times! puts me off ordering, only that I like the quality of the food! Just remember without customers (old and new) you don’t have a job!
