The best restaurants

20/06/2026: I've been in Dublin for a while now and I really miss the food from Hong Kong. A friend recommended this place, and the egg tarts were €2 each, which was a reasonable price, and they really tasted just like the ones I ate when I was little 😭 But when I talked to the owner, I found out they're closing down on the 30th of this month. I was so shocked and didn't know what to say... 😮‍💨 It's a pity I met them so late. I wish you all the best in the future, and may you have peace and joy.

21/04/2026: Regular customer, but never again. Terrible attitude.@Bilian Chen I’ve been coming here twice a week recently for their egg tarts, but the male staff member is consistently rude and dismissive. Today was the last straw. When I asked if they had more tarts, he gave a sarcastic non-answer. Then, I clearly ordered "two boxes" (6 per box), but he only handed me two individual tarts. He then started a ridiculous argument, claiming a box could hold 12 and kept questioning me condescendingly about "how many I actually wanted." It was only when I finally snapped and asked if he was treating me this way because of my Mandarin that he offered a half-hearted apology. The food is fine, but the blatant bias and lack of respect are unacceptable. Ms. @Bilian Chen Visit often but never again. Extremely bad attitude. I came here twice recently to buy egg tarts, but the male clerk's attitude was always very arrogant. Today I finally reached my breaking point: the first time I asked him if he had any egg tarts, he gave a sarcastic and noncommittal answer; the second time today, I clearly stated I wanted "two boxes," and he said nothing, only giving me two. When I noticed, he started spouting nonsense about how a box can hold 12, condescendingly asking me "how many do you want?" Then I repeated that I wanted two boxes, six in each, and only after I finally snapped and asked if he was treating me this way because I spoke Mandarin did he reluctantly apologize. The food itself is fine, but this blatant prejudice and disrespect is unacceptable.

25/08/2026: It's a nice restaurant in terms of decor and staff but ordering food as a vegan here is an absolute nightmare. The only vegan option on the menu is a vegan sausage roll, which is extremely dense and never appears to be very fresh. 20 questions and 20 adaptations later and you will have yourself a half decent vegan breakfast, but missing the basics like flora/vegan butter for your toast. How hard is it in 2026 to just do up a menu with a few items on it?

14/07/2026: I find the food is gone downhill in recent months got chicken curry and chips this evening very disappointed hardly any chicken and chips not fully cooked and curry sauce wasn't great either can of coke was perfect

24/07/2026: Standards have dropped massively. Owner rude and confrontational. He's sick of the job and it shows . Much better alternatives in the area.

13/07/2026: Had to wait over 2h for delivery, ridiculous. When I called the restaurant they kept hanging up and not answering the phone not just that but would leave the phone to ring for ages

27/08/2026: Came here for a previous family event in June which was very good and so returned. Unfortunately this time the experience was very dissappointing. Only 1 out of 9 people thought the food was good. Most thought average some thought poor. One dessert was inedible (Chocolate Cake). Shame..... staff great view lovely but wont be back (for the food anyway)

19/08/2026: I dined at the Coast Restaurant when I was in Dublin for a layover and whilst the servers were friendly and attentive, I was displeased with the second class treatment I received as an individual dining alone. When I requested a table and informed them it was only I who would be dining, the host grimaced. Literally grimaced. I was not given a place beside the window even thought the restaurant was nearly empty. I requested one, but was told they were reserved. However when a couple arrived 20 minutes later they were directed to a window seat when they requested it. Restaurants need to understand that businessmen and businesswoman often travel solo. We should not be treated differently than other guests.

28/04/2026: Absolutely love this place! Me and my partner go here so often and the staff are amazing! There’s one girl with black hair and she’s the most amazing and nicest waitress ever! The food never disappoints either! I get the burger with wedges and their burgers are the most gorgeous thing ever! Same with their chicken wings. My partner gets the steak and has gotten the curry too and said they’re both divine! Partner also brought me here for my birthday and they put little pink balloons on our table and sang happy birthday to me too! Never will have a bad word to say abt the place absolutely amazing food and staff :)

28/07/2026: Cannot recommend this place enough. One of the last good Chinese in Portlaoise. Their prices and portions are unbelievable. Been going here for the guts of 8/9 year I believe and just can’t stop coming back week after week. The food is unbelievably tasty and always filling, and out of the 100s of times I’ve ordered food from here I can say maybe 2/3 times left me slightly dissatisfied, which for human error is perfectly acceptable. Regardless I still ate the food and was content. The staff are quick and formal, always ready and have a nice presence to them. I’ve only ordered takeaway so can’t say much for dining in, but I’ve gone in and seen plenty of people eating. Highly recommend their Satay sauce, I’ve still to find anything in the world that comes remotely close to how nice it is. Their 4 in 1s are unbeatable value, and their duck is so crispy and juicy. If you really wanna pig out I can’t speak enough for their 10 inch happy box, dry or wet it doesn’t matter. Lovely establishment and hope it stays for many years to come :)

31/05/2026: Got food tonight Delivered and have to say it was lovely Rice cooked perfect tasty curry and the chicken cheese rolls were Amazing even gave us a free can of coke and extra tub of sauce would definitely order again

14/08/2026: The lady serving us seemed to have very little understanding of good customer service. I ordered a 4-in-1 and asked for satay sauce. She brought it as requested, but there was so much satay sauce on the food that I could not eat it. I wish she had explained or warned me beforehand about how much sauce they normally put on it. Had I known, I would either have asked for less sauce or not ordered it at all. Good customer service is not just about taking an order; it also involves communicating properly with customers and helping them make informed choices. Unfortunately, that was missing from my experience.

19/07/2026: Charged us over €50 for 3 snack boxes and left half our order in the shop. Nice food but would recommend making sure you’ve your order before delivery driver goes off

25/06/2026: Only for the kebab was actually delicious it was almost not worth trekking up that hill in the heat because the kebab was absolutely tiny. I wasn't expecting it to be that small for the price as usually a kebab is for sharing. For me anyway. I definitely wasnt sharing this tiny thing. I will say, it was delicious though. Chicken nugget meal was abit overpriced too in fairness

06/09/2026: I do love LANA food but unfortunately this is the first venue that the food was not tasty. The Spice box was so dry and both our chilli chicken and satay chicken dishes had hardly any chicken content within. Very disappointing

27/08/2026: A great place to eat after exploring the Salt Hill Walk. The food is very good, and the price is right. The young man who runs the restaurant is incredibly attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.
