The best restaurants

20/09/2026: The fish was rubbery, and very chewy. Either reheated, or was kept warm on the counter. Excessive batter, making the fish appear to be large. The wooden forks they supplied couldn't penetrate it! The tables were sticky, with a thick layer of grime on them. Didn't finish our food, and left. For a £50 family dinner, the standard was far below what it should have been.

15/09/2026: I’ve been here many times for days in Barry and it’s a 50/50 mix if you get bones or not apart from that really good fish and chips shops

08/05/2026: My normal order is spice bag and noodles, food is lovely but I have to order 2 curry sauces which cost 3.50 each to get enough sauce for my whole meal. Small tubs are no good! Maybe up the price a small bit and do bigger portions of sauce. *Update - portion sizes are ridiculous now, even the chicken curry is not even filled, have found other places nearby for better quality and quantity for the price. Pity.

05/05/2026: Got food out of here last night 2 spice bags and 4 in 1 and the chicken was pink, and now we all have diarhea pains in our stomach will not be eating here again 🤢

18/08/2026: The food was ok, no one was overly impressed by it & that's including two 12yr old boys!! The girl that took our order & served us was lovely & couldn't have been nicer. She had a smile on her face when we walked in & when we left. It's quiet expensive too, a little too expensive for that kind of food.

19/07/2026: I ordered over the phone, and it took about 7 minutes just to place my order. Even though I live close by, it still took over an hour for the food to be delivered. When it arrived, my milkshake was missing. I ordered a doner kebab wrap and chips. I asked for salt and vinegar on the chips, but there wasn't any. The chips were only lukewarm, very greasy, all stuck together, and the bag was only about half full. The doner wrap was the worst part. The meat tasted like cheap frozen doner that had been reheated, and it had a strange taste that reminded me of plastic cheese or something similar. Halfway through eating it, I started feeling sick and had to stop. I ended up taking an anti-sickness tablet because I felt so unwell. I've ordered takeaways for years and haven't felt sick after eating one in a very long time. Overall, this was the worst €17 I've ever spent. Between the hour-long wait, the missing milkshake, the poor food quality, and the customer service, I won't be ordering from here again. Based on my experience, I can only give it 1 star.

04/09/2026: Sooo disgusted by the quality of pizza I received tonight. 20 bucks for a dry pizza with little to no cheese and toppings. Threw it in the bin

24/08/2026: Absolute joke of a place - order through uber eats with delivery estimate of 30 mins - at 40 mins I called the restaurant and they said they have a policy of not accepting orders with non Irish phone numbers and that he would have to start the order manually himself. 1 hour later I get a call that it had been left in hotel reception only to soon realise it had been delivered to another hotel - driver had to go back and pick it up and deliver to me and of course the pizza and cookies were stone cold - 2.5 hours waiting for shite food and no apology- AVOID

06/08/2026: I always have a great experience every time I visit this coffee shop. The staff are consistently friendly, welcoming, and highly attentive, making every visit enjoyable. They offer an excellent selection of coffees, teas, and snacks, with plenty of sweet, savoury, and healthier options to choose from. The seating area is also very spacious, making it a comfortable place to relax or catch up with friends. The prices are a little on the higher side, but they’re in line with the location and comparable to other cafés in the area. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it and will continue coming back.

06/09/2026: I drove here for a midnight McDonald’s as one does, and even though online it is advertising to be open 24 hours it was not. If u want a midnight snack don’t trust the opening hours here. Very disappointing 1 star

24/05/2026: Ravi and his team are great. We love the food choice between savoury and sweet. We are served with a smile every time. Quigleys has become our weekly after shop treat.

30/01/2026: First time getting Ly in a few years. It use to be massive but the spice bags are flavourless now, just 90% onions no garlic like it use to. The fried noodles tasted just like pepper and the only thing that was decent was the curry sauce. Plus you miss the 2 Jess’s. Place was flat

09/08/2026: Caught up with a few friends for dinner and we ended up eating quite late. We were a bit worried the kitchen would be closed, but the staff were absolutely lovely and sat us down straight away. I ordered the Szechuan Duck with boiled rice and a Tsing Tao. The duck was so tasty and full of flavour, really delicious! Fantastic service from start to finish, even at that time of night.

24/07/2026: Old world hotel. No extras such as bottled water, toiletries. They dont matter. Hotel bedroom was spotless. Bed very comfortable. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast each morning. Very helpful staff. Hotel is located in a great place. Will definitely go back again

21/06/2026: I rarely post negative reviews, but this one is completely deserved. I don't understand how this place qualifies as a 3-star hotel. If it weren't advertised as one, my expectations would have been different, but it fell short on almost every basic level: *Check-in: The receptionists were incredibly slow. A long queue was forming, but the staff seemed entirely indifferent. *The Room: There was a strange, dog-like smell that was evident even while sleeping. It was so unpleasant that we avoided spending time in the room as much as possible. On top of that, the noise isolation was poor and it was very loud at night whenever anyone walked down the hallway. *Cleanliness & Maintenance: The bathtub had permanent dirt stains that wouldn't come off. The in-room safe was completely useless as it didn't have any batteries. *WiFi & Parking: The WiFi was quite slow, and the password wasn't even listed in the room; we had to walk all the way back to the lobby to get it. They advertise "free parking," but when we arrived, we were simply turned away and told it was full. *The "Save Water" Irony: The room has "save water" stickers posted, yet the toilet only has a single large-flush mode, making it impossible to actually conserve water. Unless they fix these maintenance and service issues, I cannot recommend staying here.
