The best restaurants

17/07/2025: Not gonna lie I don’t eventually want to write this review. We waited 50 minutes for them to bring me the wrong order, I ordered chicken roll with sweet chilli, corn and lettuce but they gave me bread and chicken, there was some kind of seasoning in the chicken and it was cold. Had to vomit in the bathroom for 15 minutes afterwards. For €20 each this is ridiculous!

14/07/2025: AVOID. AWFUL OVERPRICED FOOD AND TERRIBLE SERVICE . Ordered vegetarian breakfast burrito. It was cooked in same pan as bacon. When I queried this it was denied by staff member. Fortunately I could see food being cooked from my table only a few feet away. When I asked the staff member she blatantly denied meat and vegetarian food cooked in same pan. I had to walk her over to cooking area and point it out to her which seemed to leave her speechless. My son ordered Irish breakfast which was inedible. No apology from staff or manager. Very disappointing. When I asked for the bill the waitress asked me if I wanted the burrito taken off bill?! Shocked at how bad this was.

06/11/2025: Let me start by saying the the two older ladies in the deli and lovely, however, this is a Maxol issue and the two ladies were not behind the deli. I like a sausage and we're all annoyed with the constant prices rising for everything but the standards have also dropped. It's like a free for all, a grab and run with businesses against their own people. Get the food while it's hot! 'No pun intended'. I just have to show what they're making and charging a euro for, you don't get to see the real quality until you break or bite into it. Absolutely awful and the lady that's behind the glass isn't the most pleasant to return it, however, I think that's a language issue rather than rudeness, she's probably lovely. So, it isn't personal, you expect a nice sausage for a euro, which went up 10% in the past couple of months and the quality went down. I know this is a small issue, but it underpins the bigger one, quality and greed in Ireland from business owners. Let's be honest, the sausage came in a big bag and probably cost 15 cent. You can't justify the mark up on things! If you're putting up prices, the quality must improve!

13/10/2025: Nice and convenient place to get a coffee, filling up and getting some papers. Car wash outside is also very good. However, one of the staff members in Deli are absolutely horrible. There's no need for rude comments about what people are ordering, we're paying for it in the end. Couldn't figure her name, but you should be ashamed of yourself. I'll avoid getting deli from this place.

03/11/2025: Excellent food. Great coffee. Excellent service. Large breakfast was enough for 2. Kids pancakes very good. Not the cheapest but everything is fresh and very tasty. Good products. Good suppliers. Some delays in service noticeable from time to time and kitchen gets slammed. Suggest hiring kp. Chefs too busy.

11/10/2025: Really good local cafe. Can be quite busy. .

15/12/2025: The service is terrible, the staff is unprofessional, when I asked to make coffee in a regular cup instead of a paper one, they said they couldn't because the dishwasher wasn't working... and it's been like this for a whole month!!! Horribly unprofessional!!! A complete lack of service and no pleasure from coffee in this establishment!!! The sockets in the hall still don't work, so there's no way to charge your phone or laptop, and the restroom is always dirty!!! Unfortunately...(((

29/10/2025: Food and service was nice, toilet was eye dirty

30/01/2026: Had the fish and chips. The food was only okay, the fish was great but the chips were only so and so. The staff were very nice, but it was raining and I nearly fell twice because of a slippery floor.

08/03/2026: Extremely disappointing experience. I came here with my family and ordered three burgers with fries and drinks, and the total came to €104.54, which is already an absurd price for what you get. The food itself was average at best and definitely not worth anything close to that amount. What shocked me the most was that when I asked for mayonnaise, they actually tried to charge extra for it. Charging customers over €100 for a simple meal and then trying to charge for a basic condiment like mayonnaise is simply ridiculous. This shows a complete lack of customer care and a very poor approach to hospitality. When you charge premium prices, you should at least offer decent service and small basics like sauces without nickel-and-diming customers. Unfortunately, this place feels more interested in squeezing every euro from customers than providing a good dining experience. I definitely would not recommend it and will not be coming back.

04/03/2026: The atmosphere was like a decent American diner chain. The food was more like a South-East Asian Spaghetti. Doesn‘t sound right, doesn‘t taste right.

02/02/2026: Great store with great selection of Irish food products. Excellent staff and customer service. The lunch deli counter has been my regular Galway lunch sandwich spot for a few years now.

29/12/2025: I’m new to the city, but McCambridge’s already feels like it’s going to be one of my favourite spots. Amazing deli and grocery selection, great quality produce and local treats—and the café upstairs is a lovely bonus. Always worth a visit.

11/12/2025: I order today 2 spicy bags the chips was ok there was no chicken at all in the spicy bag the food had no taste this was my first and last first never again coming into this restaurant

23/01/2026: This is a nice place to eat but what’s better is the service in particular Olivia and Diana they take in to account small likes and dislikes of customers and just provide a great service definetly deserve a raise. Do checkout 👍

18/02/2026: The green curry was one of the best I've ever had. The rest of the dishes tasted good and looked even better. The prices were the same as everywhere else. I recommend it.

16/02/2026: Ordered for pickup, when we arrived the manager, who had earphones on, rudely interrupted us as we were giving our name to ask for our name. Obviously not hearing us due to having earphones in. Then giving attitude and responding rudely to everything we said. We generally like this Lana. And living in Dublin means it's a treat to have it when down. But this was a terrible experience. The food was fine but terribly dry, but that managers behaviour wasn't okay. We'll be thinking twice about ordering from there again. The nearby new sushi place has much nicer staff and so far the food is more consistent. (this was the 31st of January for context)

20/11/2025: We went to watch a friends band. Great atmosphere and service was quite good. Especially with how busy it was. Fills up fast so get in early for a seat in the weekend

26/08/2025: Very nice place to get lunch or eat a takeaway pizza in the evening. The service from staff was great, all of them very kindly. About the food, one day we got fish and chips and honestly was better than expected, not the same with homemade lemonade and ice tea, completely avoid order these. Another day we ordered few takeaway Pizzas around 9pm when every other place around is not serving food so they saved us.

23/08/2025: Ordered a salad and soup. Very little options for drinks, gin and tonic came in wine glass (couldn’t get much tonic in). Wooden cutlery ?! Food was ok. Perfect location on a lovely day. Seats outside and inside.

21/12/2025: Visited with a group for a quick coffee and light bite before a Christmas concert. As this was around 2pm, we expected traybakes or similar, especially as the venue describes itself as a café, but none were available, leaving us forced to order full food items. We ordered four coffees, one tea, spring rolls and a Caesar salad. Despite ordering drinks first, the food arrived after around 30 minutes and the drinks came much later. The salad was nice but very expensive. The spring rolls were extremely poor value - €10 for just three rolls. The tea was forgotten three times and only arrived five minutes before we had to leave, despite us being charged in full beforehand. It was very weak and not enjoyable. It may have been a bit busy but for tea thats unacceptable. The coffee was also poor, and the milk tasted off. Slow service, poor value for money, and disappointing quality overall. I would not recommend going into this restaurant unless you are prepared to spend more than the value of the food and get forgotten.

21/12/2025: We waited almost an hour for one cup of tea! We only went in for a short cup of coffee and ordered a couple of food items since they had nothing that would normally accompany a coffee (a bit strange for a place that has cafe in the description). Food came before the drinks and the drinks were lukewarm at best when they did arrive. The coffee was horrid. We ordered spring rolls for €10 and there were only 3 on the plate :/ That's over €3 per roll. The service was even worse as we had to ask about the tea several times and were informed they'd forgotten it each time. An hour later once the food and our coffees were empty and we'd already payed, the tea came boiling hot and so weak we decided not to drink it after all. Only thing that we actually enjoyed was the ceasar salad. Overall it was a huge disappointment and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

15/02/2026: Myself and my partner dined here on Valentines. We choose the set menu, most popular items on it were not available at 7.00pm, to an already limited menu. Only one menu on the table, when there was two of us, having to share a menu is a bit odd. If the à la carte menu was explained to us (no physical menu just a qr code) we would have ordered off this instead). Our waiter, a young blonde girl basically threw my partners rose on the table with no thought. It started the night on a bad note for us, this could have been such a highlight for many couples. She never ever table checked us. Only saw her when she dropped our food and she couldn’t turn around and walk away quick enough, we saw this happen at many other tables. We also had to ask for cutlery after our mains arrived. These mains sat on our table for 25 mins after we finished without being picked up, we left without our ordered dessert feeling deflated. We were never given water, we ordered wine which we never received but was still on our bill. We asked twice about the wine, ended up not having a drink all night. Staff were all bickering with each other, there’s a very obnoxious bartender who spent more time complaining in front of customers rather than making drinks, might explain why we never got our wine. We felt very sorry for the other bartender who was trying hard to do his job. Who I can only assume as the only supervisor/manager on duty, was running around clueless to most tables not knowing where the drinks or food was going, passing on any form of authority to staff in a lower position who shouldn’t be dealing with this as they were clearly already short staffed. She has no clue how to do her job, unfortunately. Staff should’ve been guided and told what to do, there was clearly no leadership. We went to the supervisor to pay and express our disappointment, who then passed us along to another young staff member (we think her name was grace, she was tall) and she was very nice and handled the situation very well and respectfully. This is something definitely above her role but she did a good job With it being Valentines night we expected a more intimate evening but it felt like management just wanted to make as much money as possible off a big crowd. We felt rushed and unwanted. Seeing so many people waiting for a table and so many people unhappy with the service really brought down the overall mood of everyone in the building. Only positive part of the evening was the food, which we barely could enjoy with everything else being such a disappointment & let down.
