The best restaurants

23/11/2024: Sorry. Came specifically for the Guinness stew and it was Utterly Disappointing. Just carrots and beef sitting on top of smashers. No stew whatsoever. And the roast didn't come with a pudding. What??? Look Elsewhere in Sligo ~

27/12/2024: Very disappointed both pizzas were chewy and tbh not edible didn’t seem at all fresh . However the shack fries were gorgeous as always but the garlic sauce has also changed not as nice as what it used to be won’t be ordering again unfortunately used to love pizza shack

04/09/2024: I really liked that little cafe and I frequented it a lot. However, after I asked for the code to the toilet and to be told it's for customer's use only while me and my partner were sitting with two coffees we bought I wouldn't return. I dont go to a cafe to be put down and accused of not being a paid customer. The employee needs to open her eyes and see the purchased items before making conclusions.

05/01/2025: We had the New Years Eve six course meal, and it was delicious with excellent service. We're already thinking of coming back next year.

02/09/2024: Had a lovely family dinner (7 adults) there last Saturday (31st Aug). The food was beautiful. However, one of my sons complained that his roast beef was tough and burnt, resulting in that, he couldn't finish it. No server even asked us how our meal was :-(

01/09/2024: supposed to be open on sundays until 3pm according to google maps. came to the window at 1.25pm, the window said sundays open till 2pm. the lady in the window said they’re closed for the day. waste of time driving there

12/12/2024: waitress was very rude and abrupt, atmosphere was lovely - but service was just awful, waitress was rude, abrupt - we were given desert menu and she came back about 30 seconds later to get our order, I apologised and said we hadn’t looked or decided yet and she placed both hands on the table and stood waiting for me to make up my mind! I was humiliated - definitely giving me the message to hurry and we weren’t getting time - so I’m afraid you need to sharpen your customer service and be pleasant - very gruff service - alot of leaning across you to collect plates and put out cutlery - I had to sit back and push my chair back to stop being knocked - so always loved going to the Keadeen and have had great times there but won’t be back for a long time - there are more welcoming restaurants in Kildare - I know this waitress has been there a long time - and I felt like she was being aggressive and personally rude to me!

08/12/2024: I’ve been visiting this restaurant with my family for at least six years, a couple of times a year. While the staff continues to be friendly and attentive, sadly, that’s the only consistent highlight. The restaurant used to offer a much broader menu, including options like venison and lamb, which added variety and a touch of sophistication. However, with every menu change, the selection seems to become more limited and less interesting. The dessert menu, in particular, has been disappointing—always heavy and lacking in creativity, with no new or lighter options introduced.

20/10/2024: I'm going to make this place a regular of mine. What a nice find and surprise! The food is really good and I can safely say this was the nicest pizza I've tasted in years. The base, the topping just perfectly prepared and cooked. The side salad was also just right with fresh produce and a balsamic dressing. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and may have been right in his claim that Dutch people make the best pizzas! The Americano was served in a "proper" cup also and not diluted to oblivion as one finds in most restaurants. Looking forward to going back again to eat soon.

27/09/2024: We found this little spot after we visited the Midleton Distillery, most places were closed and it was pouring rain but we were hungry. It worked out great the food was delicious and obviously all made from scratch, if you find yourself in Midleton do yourself a favor and go here for lunch/dinner.

31/12/2024: Nice place to order Nigerian meals for takeaway

02/11/2024: Good basic place to visit. Welcoming and nice food. It caters to cuisine for people of Nigerian immigrants in particular. It also has event and party hall. Heritage has an all you can eat buffet on Sundays. The meals are tasty and nice.

02/12/2024: The toilets are dung hill. The service is terrible. I can't recommend it.

26/01/2025: Food quality dropped dramatically last couple years in this location KFc not recommended Staff a bit Rude time to time. Toilets are absolutely disgusting, not clean at all. Not recommended. Price increase but food quality is getting lower..

11/01/2025: Went at 12am when they opened and I swear they gave me chicken and chips from the day before because they just opened and the food was cold and flavourless even the chips were cold.

29/12/2024: The staff are always nice and attentive, and the place is cozy and nicely decorated. Especially during Christmas 2024, it looked amazing! The food is consistently good. I recommend the Black Bean, Szechuan, or Kung Po sauces!

08/12/2024: Had dinner here last Friday week with group of friends visiting the town. Great restaurant with exceptional food n staff. Very friendly athmosphere with prices faifly reasonable. Only issue i would have would be entrance/stairs from main street - it was quite wet so u wohld need be careful especialky on a rainy day. Definitely recommendn will go back next time in area 🫶

21/10/2024: Nice traditional pub. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. They do a nice Irish breakfast in the morning which I recommend. I rarely drink so cannot comment on that side of things.
