The best restaurants

23/04/2025: Stopped for some lunch when passing through. Relatively small menu, as expected for a cafe, but the options were so nice that I struggled to choose. Went for a pulled pork ciabatta and my wife had a ham and cheese toasties. Herself was also impressed by the cute teapot and saucer set her tea was served in. The food was fantastic, with quality and quantity to suit the €9 per sandwich price.

19/04/2025: Horrendously rude woman who I think is one of the couple who operates the place. She shouldn't be in a customer facing business.

15/04/2025: Great location, but we were waiting almost 20 minutes for a cup of tea and the place was filthy. No vegan options.

07/03/2025: The staff have lost all hope, I think the next me who served me needs a good boss to put done life into her. The breakfast was great and she made me a lovely coffee, but it was very expensive. It is due to high rents & rates though, the place is looking worn out and tired sadly. But if you don’t own the property and the landlord is the only winner, you don’t have much hope sadly.

10/01/2025: My self and my daughter drove to the Costa in Johnstown for a nice hot chocolate unfortunately as soon as we went in 10 minutes before closing,girl behind the counter said ,we are closed even though there was still 10minutes left before closing and the hot chocolate would've only taken 2 minutes.

12/04/2025: The food here has become inedible. Always either burnt, extremely greasy or flavourless. Used to be a regular that’s why it’s disappointing the money I’ve spent here. Quality of food has downgraded and even when it was edible was always problems taking over an hour, sometimes an hour and a half for delivery or messing up orders. Just horrible food and they don’t care what they’re serving so disappointing. Prices shocking but wouldn’t even be an issue if their food was actually edible

03/04/2025: Absolutely disgraceful. Ordered from UberEats, and their "big box" is a joke. Huge portion of rice, one sausage, and half a portion of dried chicken and beef, ALREADY CUT (the photo on the app shows a whole piece of chicken and beef). It just looks like leftovers 🤢 Ordered pudim, and it tastes store-bought. It was my first and last experience. I don't recommend it at all. Much better to buy the same plate from Wasabi or Sabor Nordestino.

22/04/2025: Lovely little cafe with excellent eggs and toast. Perfect for a simple breakfast while exploring Tullamore. Pay at the counter when you walk in, settle in to a small table and enjoy.

12/04/2025: Hygiene in general is questionable here, and the toilet is absolutely disgusting. Food was grand but expensive for what you get

19/03/2025: Called into the Midleton shop yesterday and witnessed who I assume was either the supervisor or the manager berating a younger member of staff about what appeared to be a work-related issue and the situation made me quite uncomfortable. You could see that the young person was visibly distraught. I gathered that this was a matter that should have been dealt with privately and not in front of customers as it caused an awkward, uneasy atmosphere. I found this unprofessional and off-putting.

17/03/2025: Well done to the 4 members of staff who ignored us completely while we waited at the counter , they just carried on with their heads down , nobody as much as lifted their heads to say good morning.we just left eventually. I see your fb page says our baristas are there for you !! Really ??? Maybe they all had hangovers on March 17th ....

08/04/2025: This place used to be very good. I don’t know what has happened in the last few years. Curry sauce tastes and smells like nail varnish, a couple times now. Seasoning doesn’t hit. Only good thing left to order is probably the fried rice. Place needs to fix up or give it back to whoever ran it couple years ago

20/02/2025: Food is ok. Gave me sweet n sour sauce for chk balls, not curry sauce. They clearly don’t listen. Beware

31/12/2024: Terrible takeaway, tried to call at least 20 times. They answered once and the women was being rude and slammed the phone down.

22/10/2024: The worst Italian meal I’ve ever had in my life! We received our meals 5 minutes apart from one another. The aubergine parmigiana was likely microwaved as it was still cold with just a melted cheese top. The pasta sauce was like a watered down chicken stock and the pizza was worse than a freezer version. With so many nice options in the area such as olivetto, belli dentro and dolce italia, I can’t understand how they’re still open!

05/10/2024: We happened to be in the area a Friday night to our surprised we managed to get a table for 4, the place was empty. Kids ordered carbonara and it tasted like no other carbonara we ever tasted before, no flavored whatsoever and was so dull kids wouldn't even touch it. My husband ordered a sausage ragu pasta and was chewie I was the only that kinda enjoyed my meal, I had the Tiger prawn risotto. The starters were so overpriced for what we got it was ridiculous to see the size of the brushetta. After all the disaster waiter came and took plates without even asking how was the food, maybe she is used to collecting full plates .... as no one will enjoy their food. If you are looking to over spend on crappy food this is your place but if you are like me ...enjoy good Italian food don't go there.
