The best restaurants

19/04/2026: Very small portions considering cost. Staff are friendly and helpful.

24/01/2026: Very poor experience. We were given a voucher as a gift to use at this restaurant. We arrived to the Gibson at 7.45 for our reservation at that time - got seated etc. We got our menus and waited for someone to come back to take our order or even drinks order. We had to get someone’s attention (at this stage it was after 8pm). She came back to us and asked us if we wanted “the good news or the bad news”. She told us the bad news was the kitchen is now closed (??) so we can’t order but she can bring us to the bar and we can use our voucher there. I told her i thought this was absolutely outrageous because someone just sat us down and never told us about having to order before 8, nor did anyone try to get our order in before the deadline, and she said she agreed with me but that she wasn’t the person who greeted us at the start. Food in the bar was fine. We eventually got our first drink at 8.30 - 45 mins after we arrived. When the bill came they knew nothing about our gift voucher which we handed to the initial lady, and they had to go searching around for her and the voucher. We couldn’t help but laugh at how poorly this night had gone. If you’re getting dinner in the area before a concert, would recommend Ruby’s, the Mayson or Cill Airne over this establishment.

29/09/2025: The breakfast is good, but the lunch menu is terrible and the same thing every day: pasta, pizza, sandwiches. They look good, but the taste is hard to describe... Why can't there be a proper restaurant on campus? Is it difficult to offer different dishes every day or a semi-buffet restaurant?

05/09/2025: The food is very bad! The problem with Gather&Gather is that we make beautifully looking food, but unfortunately it tastes bad. Also, why don't we have normal food menus like all the other universities? TCD has different lunch menus everyday with at least four options including chicken curry, grilled beef, fish and chips...lots of options and true lunch food!

20/01/2026: Food was unhygienic and staff was uninterested in taking order.

11/01/2026: Went here for a sub, asked for lettuce, tomato, red onion and chipotle and they only had onion. My partner asked for a sub with just bacon on it and they put 3 strips of small bacon on it and then they said they would have to charge extra for more (first time I ever seen this) Staff were rude and argumentative especially considering their slogan is ‘eat fresh’ yet they have no salads… we told them we didn’t want the subs and left. Went to airside subway instead and we got a completely different experience. Won’t return to this location ever again.

06/03/2026: The kebab is dry. There’s barely any sauce — only on top. The bottom is just dry meat and cabbage.

01/03/2026: Staff are rude and have attitudes would not recommend,much tasty restaurants with way nicer staff

08/06/2026: We stopped by for lunch and ordered a 14-inch Monroe’s Special pizza, customised as a vegetarian option. The sourdough base was well made and topped generously with a good variety of fresh vegetables. However, considering the size and overall offering, the pizza felt somewhat overpriced at this price point €25 for 14 inches pizza, especially when there are several strong pizza options elsewhere in Galway that may offer better value for money.

04/05/2026: Very disappointing experience. I was told there was no working toilet, which is hard to believe in a food business. If that’s true, it’s a serious issue — if not, it’s even worse. Either way, not a good look.

28/01/2026: First time getting food here n Got a garlic cheese chip and notice some chips were hard and then seen this nasty

04/01/2026: I didn't like it, to be honest. I ordered fries with curry, and while the curry was good, the fries were more like mashed potatoes than chips. The portion wasn't bad for the price, but I don't think I'll be back. The service was friendly, at least.

18/04/2026: Horrible, we were served late and kicked out before we even finished our meal. Unacceptable.

16/04/2026: I recently got a pickle burger meal from here. There was TWO PICKLES. The only good part were the fries and Pepsi. The chicken patty was cold and dry, and the bun tasted stale

22/05/2026: Shocking delivery service, over 2 hours for delivery, stone cold food. Went straight in the bin. Won’t be ordering again.

30/04/2026: Great chipper, and great service

30/10/2025: Visited from abroad a couple of times and food and service are good for a super busy cafeteria. It is clear the staff is trying their best in keeping tables clean as soon as they empty and food was prepared quickly and brought to the table. Never tried the baking but it is a good spot to sit and grab a quick bite.

06/10/2025: We went here for our breakfast. I ordered a mini breakfast and my husband ordered scrambled eggs. The lady charged for it and was 13.90. The other lady notified of the scrambled egg and accused me of not saying it when i clear as day said the order. Even my husband said i said it. I found this quiet rude and embarrassing as their was a queue behind us . When i got my food, it was okey, however my husband found shell in his . He thought maybe it was just a once off and continued to eat some more until he chewed on more which really turned his stomach. He couldn't eat it. I brought it back up and notified the two ladies behind the counter of which one was the lady who made it. She just gave me a look, didnt apologise or acknowledged that this shouldn't of happened. I walked away back to my table. Very unprofessional to let a customer walk away like that . When I looked back up she was on her phone and the other lady was doing the dishes. No offer to substitute it for something else or refund . Very poor unprofessional service. Wont be thinking of going here again.

14/03/2026: Ordered a mini box which turned out to include the saltiest, most inedible food of all time. Should really come with a defibrillator.

08/02/2026: Avoid this place. The food was undercooked, and when I raised the issue with the receptionist, I received an aggressive response and was told to throw my food in the bin if I wasn’t happy. I would strongly advise a health inspection, as I heard squeaking noises coming from the kitchen while I was getting ready to leave. They only accept cash, which appears to be to avoid paying tax. Terrible customer service and very questionable business practices.

06/04/2026: Ordered food today on arrival once opening the box we were disgusted to find a poly bag of nuts and bolts on top of the pizza also a hair next to the bag, we rang the shop straight away to complain and they said they would come collect the pizza and bring us another one, we were willing to accept the replacement pizza we were told that we would receive it within 30 minutes, over an hour past before we had to call them again and to our surprise they were very rude on the phone telling us that they had not made the pizza as they were waiting to hear from their boss, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE

02/02/2026: Ordered for delivery. I live at max a 5 minute drive away from the place honestly I should of walked to collect it but it was raining and I wasn't bothered. Ordered 4 meals 4 dips and 4 cans receive No dips No cans and 2 of the meals was completely wrong. A snack box turned into chicken tenders with a handful of chips and a medium meat pizza turned into a small peperoni. It took 75 minutes to arrive and when I tried to ring back to complain I was hung up on and then my number was blocked ill never order from this place again. Stay well away much better options in limerick to get delivered and even if they are in the city it will be quicker

17/03/2026: Very good for the price of it. Cheese burger only 3.50 and was lovely and also got chips in with it and it still was only 3.50. Very good and would recommend.

21/02/2026: I’m extremely disappointed with the service and professionalism. I’ve ordered from here often for myself and my parents, and the food has usually as described . However, my most recent experience was unacceptable. I placed an order through Just Eat for a make your own pizza for me and my dad. I selected a couple vegetables, which included peppers. When the pizza arrived, it had pepperoni on it. As both of us are vegetarians, we could not eat it at all. I called the restaurant to explain the issue. The staff member then handed the phone to the manager, who raised his voice and repeatedly insisted the mistake was my fault, claiming I had ordered over the phone. I clearly explained multiple times that the order was placed online through Just Eat. He repeatedly asked for my name and order details but continued to insist I had called it in. It took several minutes before he finally acknowledged that the order had been placed online, but by then he had already spoken to me in a very disrespectful and unprofessional manner, raising his voice at me. This situation caused me significant distress, especially as I was ordering on behalf of my father, who is not confident speaking English. I am writing this review a couple of months after the incident because I was very upset at the time and was worried about the review being linked back to me and affecting my parents’ ability to order from there in the future. The experience was very stressful and left a lasting negative impression. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that situations like this are handled more respectfully in the future. Mistakes can happen, but listening to customers and resolving issues calmly makes a real difference. Based on this experience, I would not recommend ordering if you expect accountability or respectful customer service.
