The best restaurants

09/07/2024: We stayed at the Hotel and dined at this restaurant on our last night there. It is only open on Fridays and Saturdays, but is well worth the experience if you can manage to be there. The restaurant is very comfortable and well-appointed and enjoys picturesque views over the Malahide estuary. The staff are very presentable, efficient and exude typical Irish charm; they are ably led by Restaurant Manager Tony and his staff. We chose not to opt for a starter, instead going straight for the main course. My wife chose the “Catch of the Day”, which was a whole Black Sole. It was cooked to perfection; the flesh just flaked easily off the bone. The accompanying vegetables were well cooked with just the right amount of firmness. I chose an Irish beef Fillet Steak which was again cooked exactly to perfection and therefore my liking. This was complemented with some nice wine. For a dessert course, we chose the Baked Cherry Alaska with cherry gel and roast hazelnuts. It was quite one of the most delicious desserts we have enjoyed on our travels. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing – there was no pressure between courses. We were able to relax, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the views.

07/01/2025: Horrible receipt paper quality. The.paper itself is flimsy and almost cloth like . Easily rippable which is inadequate. The neoethogen ink is literally running out ,. And rubbing off it, inks on your hand which is dangerous and dna altering and carcinogenic. As a receipt collectionar. I am appalled

10/12/2024: Ilac mc Donald's needs to have a fixed amount of stock for morning rush and lunchtime also, a fixed space for people to wait orders. The counter and tap and go machines blick the main doorway.

21/09/2024: Your man would want to climb off the horse. A woman asked a simple question and the condecending answer recieved. FFS nice place but ruined by the man. Some people are better leaving others who can run there business for them to it and staying behind the scenes. I would not return again on account of him.

23/11/2024: After waiting an hour for food it came cold, when I called back the woman had an awful attitude on the phone although it was their fault. And the garlic bread that came was terrible not even cooked properly.40 mins later still no fresh food. Shocking customer service, won’t be goin there again!

01/08/2024: Make a order at 21:24 now is 23:07 and still not received the order maybe will not get today is a joke

10/07/2024: Kati was very helpful. She was prompt. The menu was extensive. The prices were reasonable and the quality of the food was excellent! I highly recommend Primavera and give it a five.

07/06/2024: Very disappointed that when we requested bread, olives and balsamic to share we were told they didn't do this!!! Its an ITALIAN RESTAURANT! Food was good, staff were friendly if a little overwhelmed by our request! Most annoying of all was that when we're leaving we saw.. guess what?? Oil, balsamic and bread they had bread! Felt it was a little penny pinching..

09/09/2024: Disappointing! When you go to a specialty shop that offers donuts, you expect the donuts to be exceptional in terms of variety, taste, flavour, and overall quality. Especially when you pay 3.75 euro for a doughnut. But in Krispy Kreme, I got ordinary doughnuts (Biscoff and Nutty Chocolatta). Cannot say that they were better than those in a grocery store. And what made me to write this review is an absence of filling in one of the doughnuts - there was just a hole with the smallest drop of filling. You cannot offer such low quality products for such high price.

16/10/2024: Ordered chicken tikka masala sauce along with Chicken Jalfrezi , chicken Jalfrezi was ok to taste but chicken tikka masala sauce was a disaster. It tasted like condensed milk with a very thin texture , coloured pink . Never had such a bad tasting chicken tikka sauce from any Indian restaurants in Dublin or Wicklow. They should really rethink about this dish in their menu

15/01/2025: If you are looking for "fresh" orange juice, as per menu, you will get a concentrate. If you want portobello mushrooms with your breakfast as per menu, you will get just normal mushrooms. Ordering a pot of tea takes so long that you just could not be arsed anymore. Service takes so long that the food has gone cold. Same with the coffee and latte...all cold. I would not come here again. Sorry folks, you really need to pull out the finger or you will be closing in the next 12 months. This is constructive criticism. Please take it serious.

22/12/2024: Went for breakfast and although there were plenty of available seats but left standing for 5 mins, brought the table only to discover it was not clean and we were asked to stand and wait. Finally we had a server take our order.. I had eggs Benedict which were shocking .. massive muffin with tiny eggs and a slice of packet ham cut in half and 1/2 pieces laced in each muffin and for 13.95 …. Shocking!!

28/09/2024: It’s horrible experience for this take away , the meat was sour and the chips as well , you can feel the bitter taste of oil. I order burger , it was nice but very small. Maybe they have to change the oil often coz it’s to burn and it’s felt in the food

02/08/2024: Got a doner kebab but it was just a wrap with doner meat and cost 9 euro. Don’t recommend

13/01/2025: Was a real shame as a first time customer, the food actually had good flavors, but everything had this layer of old tasting grease on it, still feel it all over my face, only managed to eat 1/4 of it then had to give up, and unfortunately the rice was complete rubber, tasted days old, and not over-cooked, as a chef I know over-cooked.... this was just really old. The staff seemed lovely, but the food was just so greasy felt like someone was using old fryer oil to thicken up the sauces. As I said the flavors we're actually nice, staff were friendly, just a shame was ruined by the fat

04/01/2025: The food here is quite tasty and is always prepared quickly hence the 3 stars. Up until tonight I would have given it 5 stars. However I've reduced to 3 stars for three reasons. 1. Ordered the spice box for the first time tonight. Was shocked at the amount of chicken. See picture. It may as well have been a box of chips for €9. 2. Expressed this disappointment about the spice box with the staff and they were less than receptive to the feedback. Actually came across quite rude. 3. They gave us the wrong dish with a previous order we placed. When we called next time, we told them they had given us the wrong dish last time, and to please make sure they got it right this time. Again staff were not very polite about it and offered no apology. To the owner, improve the spice box and your employees manners and you'll receive a better review. Update: updating to 4 stars as staff are very friendly these days. Haven't had the spice bag since last visit but chicken black bean mushroom is delish.

03/09/2024: My wife, a few friends, and I recently visited the Greyhound Cafe Bar for a night out, and while we had a good time overall, there were some mixed experiences. First off, the music was fantastic. The DJ knew exactly how to keep the energy high, and the playlist was on point. It really set the mood for the night, and we found ourselves dancing and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.The place was buzzing, which added to the lively vibe, but it also meant it was extremely busy. We had to wait a bit to get drinks, but the bar staff were efficient and friendly, which helped. The crowd was a good mix of people, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. However, the one downside of our visit was the security staff. Unfortunately, they were quite rude. We understand that their job is to keep things in order, especially in such a busy venue, but their attitude was unnecessarily harsh. It put a bit of a damper on our night, as we felt they could have handled things in a more professional and courteous manner. Overall, the Greyhound Cafe Bar is a great spot for music and a lively night out, but they could improve their customer service, particularly when it comes to their security team. With that said, we would consider returning, especially if they address this issue, because the rest of the experience was genuinely enjoyable.

12/06/2024: Loved this place! Reminded me of Steak & Shake in the states. Food was close to American but just different enough to let you know you're in Ireland! Would definitely visit again if I ever get back to Galway.
