The best restaurants

15/07/2025: Waited 10-15 minutes for chips, no problem there, happy to wait for lovely fresh chips. Got them home (I live a 3 minute drive away) and the chips were rock solid, dry and clearly yesterday's chips. Rang them to see if they'd made a mistake and would be willing to send a fresh bag. Was told that they're today's potatoes and that they couldn't deliver a fresh bag. The lady was no help and didn't care about losing a customer of 20+ years. Its a real shame because that was always a great chipper but gone massively downhill recently. Prices have risen and quality has plummeted.

27/03/2025: Over priced food €4.50 for chips and €10.50 for a bit of fish for lunch chips were raw, and the chicken was reheated from the night previous no even specials for school kids that were their, no effort

09/08/2025: The worst price/quality I saw in my life, worst than regular and expensive. They try to trick you with paying 2 and get 1 free but is a completely scam. Scam. 1 free( the cheapest), but you pay 1.5 for topping so you end paying for 2 toppings 18 only for a medium hahahaj that for a horror pizza, scam another men.

09/08/2025: It seems like a bargain saying that buying 2 gets you the third pizza free, but then each topping costs 1.5 and the small sizes start at 10 euros.

02/07/2025: This is our place to drink our coffee, we like they give us a card and we can get a free one occasionally. I don't understand why they can't let us have a cold coffee for free like they do with the hot coffees. Also they should ask if we are drinking in there or to take out. We get plastic recipients when we are staying in the place, it should be nice to have the right one when we are in the area.

01/08/2025: I ordered my food online at 9.45. I rang them 8 times no answer and still no order and they took my money off my account, I am extremely angry here , I am a regular customer, it's now 11.20 and no food , they will be getting a phone call and a very angry person on the phone and I will be going uo to get my money back , not happy at all

21/09/2025: Ordered vegetables samosas and barely any vegetables in them. Butterfly prawns minuscule dip accompanied them and chicken tenders bland and to top it all off all arrived cold. So disappointed.

25/07/2025: We ordered a delivery with white wine. The wine was lukewarm and when we immediately phoned Saba all they offered was a €5 credit note, which incidentally, hasn't arrived. Not that we wanted a credit note but warm white wine is not what you would expect with a food order. Won't risk Saba again.

03/07/2025: I ordered for DELIVERY on a Wednesday evening . I made the call at 9:24pm the male on the other end of the phone took my order and asked me to spell out my address for the delivery , he said it would take 15/20 mins . 35 mins later I ring to see where the food is and the lady on the phone states it’s there waiting for me ? The male I spoke to , to make the order had my order down for collection. At this stage it was 10:15pm we were so hungry waiting on our food . I had complained to the lady on the phone and told her that her colleagues had clearly made a mistake so I asked her to freshen our food and send it out again , I was so hangry at this stage . I asked the lady on the phone what could she do for me and all she could do was take the delivery charge off with was €2.20 . I ring back to add two cokes to my order and I explain to the lady how frustrated I was that her colleague actually got me to spell out my address for the delivery so how did he get so mixed up that it was for collection ? The lady on the phone basically laughed at me . So unprofessional and not atal taking the responsibility or the situation serious , she was so rude . The delivery came and we were met with a lovely delivery driver and I had explained to him that I was not paying for the two cokes . He agreed with me after I explained the whole situation and he had to ring the lady in the Chinese shop to tell her that she can not charge me for the cokes because it was them that made the mistake . I am writing and explained all of this because i work with the public in my job and provide a service and I would never treat anybody especially if I was in the wrong like that lady treat the whole situation for me . I will never again order from the sea palace portmarnock .

04/09/2025: Loved this place! My wife & I were staying in Carlow. My wife loves Indian food, but finds it difficult to find a really spicy curry. I prefer milder dishes. We ordered a vindaloo & a jalefrezi. The food was superb, the staff were friendly & helpful, & the cost was very affordable. Highly recommended .

20/09/2025: After a long day of fishing we decided to pop in here for something nice, We ordered the double quarter pounder, and 2 snack boxes, we had to que for 5 min to put in the order and had to wait over 25min for the food, the chicken in the snack boxes came separate to the chips and the salt and viniger was in packs, so much packaging waste its ridiculous, now for the food, the chicken was ok but the chips although fresh were so hard and dry they were barely edible and we could not finish them, it was good that they were very small portions of chips and we felt bad throwing them in the bin as for the burger there was 2 patties so over cooked and so hard with little to no sauce or dressing on it, as for the price nearly 13 euro for 2 small prices of chicken and small portions of chips is extortion if you ask me and 13 for the burger and chips seems OK but really badly prepared food and small portions, First impression are so important when it come to takeaway and as this was our first time we were left with a terrible impression of this place, we will never come here again

01/11/2025: Slower than usual as of late. Drive thru is quicker. Going down they don’t acknowledge you, they just prioritize mobile and DoorDash orders so I recommend waiting in the drive thru line no matter how long.

25/09/2025: It looks like this restaurant got a new name! “ECOCO”The menu has way more options now, and the whole place is cleaner and neater. They also have those super trendy Korean hot dogs — crispy on the outside, soft and stretchy inside… so delicious! I heard the other dishes taste better than before too. Definitely coming back to try more next time! 🌭✨

31/07/2025: We really enjoyed X Spice, its tasty dished like the Hot Box and its friendly owner and staff. Sadly it closed permanently this month.

11/08/2025: Got a too good to go bag I had one doughnut and 2 pain au chocolate and one Portuguese custard tart All were tasty but unfortunately the pastry wasn't fresh as ot was evening but still worth to try it
