28/12/2025: My chicken was completely raw my rice wasn’t cooked wouldn’t recommend eating here at all. Staff were incredibly rude horrible attitude and just not at all a nice atmosphere in this place. The facilities are horrendous so dirty. I will never return here and I would recommend everyone to avoid it .

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!! I waited over an hour and the pizza was rock hard and cold. The woman on the phone couldn’t have been ruder. Paid nearly 40 euro for two pizzas for it to be gross.

06/12/2025: Probably the worst food I’ve ever had! Ordered Megabox for my son and I and can honestly say it was horrible. The ribs and chicken were so dry and I ordered a side of rice which was so greasy. So disappointing, will definitely not be going there again!
28/08/2025: I ordered a few dishes from this takeout place, but the food was poor quality. The flavors were nonexistent, even with the classic Chinese dishes. A real shame. The prices were quite high.

11/02/2026: Had a chicken Noodle with Szehuan sauce recently. Not real chicken unfortunately, too jelly like. But, what is in that sauce? Could not quench my thirst the whole evening. It must be laced in MSG! Won't be ordering there again.

08/03/2026: While I’m not usually a particularly picky or overly critical person, I was genuinely shocked by the condition of this establishment. The overall lack of hygiene was very concerning. The tables and floor were visibly dirty, to the point that it felt like a potential health and safety hazard.
To be fair, the staff themselves appeared clean and were using gloves, which I appreciated. However, the unpleasant smell, sticky air, and the general lack of cleanliness throughout the place made the environment very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it completely ruined my appetite.
Basic hygiene standards should never be compromised in a place that serves food, and in its current state, this is simply not acceptable.
07/12/2025: He said “€6.80 cash or card” and I tapped my card, checked my revolut and it was €9.15. I ordered the 6 inch sub which came which was really only 4 inches. Staff are like talking to people with grey clouds over their head

28/02/2026: Food isn't good. Ordered spicy tenders and they were not spicy and very dry. Chips weren't nice. Drink cups come with no lid when dining in which makes it hard to walk with them to tables. Very overpriced.

24/01/2026: Just abandoned subway food order due to no confidence in staff. Ordered vegan veggie delite. Watched a unappealing piece of bread being defrosted without being asked my bread choice. Two staff members quizzed me 3 times on which patty while each time I confirmed the vegan one, on asking what the choices were they said one, so I was perplexed at being asked ‘which’ one. I then asked what bread was being defrosted and was told the gluten free one. I explained I wanted vegan(there are 3 bread option) and I am not celiac. They informed me I’d asked for it as vegan. I again explained I do not have gluten intolerance by which point I had lost the will to go further or the confidence in the staff having any food order allergy training and left hungry. Disappointing experience.

North Street, Swords (Applegreen garage)...
Experience 1: The woman serving me thought it would be a good idea to serve both me as well as the lady behind me at the same time. I didn't feel prioritised and I actually felt uncomfortable ordering alongside someone else whom I don't know. The subway employee ended confusing herself whilst mixing up our bread and sauce types. Disappointing to be honest considering a roll costs in around 9 quid. Not cheap in today's climate and its a treat I generally look forward to but dont always have. Be better.
Experience 2: I only eat Hearty Italian. I understand that subway have other choices of good quality bread to chose from but I've tried their selection and nothing tickles my fancy. On this day, I arrived at Subway an hour and a half after they had opened. I asked for a Hearty Italian only to find out that none had been prepared. I'm working within the hospitality trade all my life. Anyone that has worked within hospitality knows preparation is key. Being ready is key. Instead I was nonchalantly told that :they're not ready yet". No offer of an alternative bread, no waiting time given. Just a terrible attitude and a sense of carelessness. Be better.
Experience 3: I was served by whom I consider to be their best employee. Fairly sure she's a full-timer with brown hair. Very efficient, good manners, smiles, works clean and holds the counter well by herself when under pressure. However, after ordering a roll with meatballs, spicy cheese and marinara sauce I took a bite only to find that the meatballs were dry, black and almost rock solid (almost). Again, disappointed and fed up but not fed. Be better
Side note: The garage as a whole is ran dismally. The deli is twice as bad as subway. Burger king isn't too bad and the cashiers/shop floor assistants are clueless when it comes to prompt and efficient service. If you're packing a shelf and you see a line of customers waiting to pay for fuel/products, etc take a 2 minute break from what you're doing and clear the line. Instead, the employees gawk at the queue whilst continuing to pack shelves etc. Meanwhile, all us customers are growing impatient with the one person working the till whom generally, if not most of the time, has no sense of urgency and is not trained adequately on tills therefore making mistakes and elongating the entire process for everyone. Not too mention, you don't even get a smile.
The garage is a joke and Applegreen head office need to implement policies, procedures and inspections for their staff and the premises. Pelco is a great example of how to manage a business of the same nature within a garage setting.The big boys within the company should take responsibility too and do a bit of graft instead of floating from outlet to outlet in their lovely suits doing next to nothing other than throwing an eye over the premises and asking the same old questions. Be better.
I'm going over to Subway now to order a roll. I will edit and update this review if I have a bad experience. Let's hope not though!

Waited 5 minutes (which would've been longer if I was willing to remain patient) to be served. I foresaw that I could've been waiting longer so I decided against a subway today. Staff very slow. No sense of urgency, not even any acknowledgement. No changing of gloves between orders either. Pay for Rock Star to lead your team and stop employing minimum rate staff that don't care!
One employee on shift. Slow service. Lack of health and safety precaution due to being under too much pressure. No changing of gloves etc.Getting worse as time goes by. I wouldn't be surprised to see the shop go at some point soon. Btw, the young lady that served me tried her best and did a great job given the environment she is operating in and the tools/help she has been provided.

02/04/2025: I ordered philiez cheese hero (steak) along with chicken wings spice box and extra sauce. When I received ordered , half of my steak roll was missing, chicken wings with so called spice box looked expired and reheated up with fries and there were no peppers no seasoning no nothing . I called the restaurant to fix it and that man on the phone did not even know what he is talking about then he said he is gonna let the manager know about the issue and will call back right away. 40 minutes later i’m calling again and again and they are not answering any of my calls including the delivery driver. What a disaster you people are. Worst customer service ever

I had complementary access which took the pain out the €40 we paid for my wife.
Staff unhelpful and disinterested apart from the bull dog who was responsible for guarding the valuable two complementary drinks rule !
Her wonderful customer service was to ask every customer if this was their second drink and then argue with you about the need for a mixer which she never provided.
Food very limited and there a good few hours in the fridge. Was more than happy to go down to the bar and pay full price. At least the staff seemed interested.
Scored a one because I can’t give a lower score !

27/09/2025: Horrible service and not allergen-friendly whatsoever. I ordered an all-day egg works from there and was served by some grumpy old woman. When she cut the bagel she used a dirty knife that had been used just before mine. Gross enough already, except I have an allergy to cashew nuts and the knife had pesto on it. I asked if there was cashews in the pesto and she rudely asked my why. Even after explaining she just looked even more pissed off and used a slightly cleaner knife to cut a new bagel. Absolutely no manners and regard for health and safety. Could not recommend this dump less.
03/08/2025: The bagels are inedible, the cheese is microwaved instead of toasted which is strange but honestly the most disappointing thing is the service, the people working here have no manners honestly and will never return here, absolute waste of money. I work in retail as well and i understand you can't always be at your best but I got no hello or thank you back and the lady was just hostile to say the least and yelled at me instead of asking questions notmally. No comment
