The Sussex
Dublin
14/07/2024: Permanently closed,, which is shame as it was a great restaurant
29/06/2024: This restaurant no longer exists. It's an ex restaurant. It has demised. However the pub below O'Briens is extremely popular.

Farrier & Draper
Dublin
16/04/2025: I visited this fantastic bar before Christmas last year, and it exceeded all expectations unfortunately the place has been shut down now . The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with great music and friendly staff and lovely food by ‘Laacha Restaurant’ .
04/04/2025: It's closed. The website and IG look alive, same with open table. But there's a chain lock on the gate and the security at power court tells me they've closed up about 6 or 8 weeks ago.

The Laurels
Killarney
25/07/2025: Food was good, but the portions rather small. The desert was a joke, we ordered the crumble and it was completely soggy and a tiny piece - absolutely not worth it. Service was good.
24/07/2025: Husband and I chose this pub while visiting Killarney. We love authentic Irish food so this place really hit the spot.
When we walked in, we were told that they didn’t have any tables left and they were completely full. There were a couple seats at the bar thankfully so we asked if we could sit there and eat, she said yes.
The two young guys behind the bar gave us some drinks quickly, waitress took our food order a few minutes later.
We decided to share the mini potato cakes (€8.95), which were pretty much mashed potatoes mixed with chicken and bacon, and then covered in bread crumbs and fried. It was covered in a mushroom creme sauce which was really good, with a small salad on the side (if you can call it that, it was really a couple pieces of lettuce, a single grape tomato and a drizzle of dressing)
My husband got the fish and chips (€17.70) which honestly was probably the best fish and chips he’s had so far during our trip. I was a little jealous of his food after I tried some of his. The fish was almost melt-in-your-mouth quality. Soooo good. I would go back just to eat that fish again.
I got the spinach and ricotta ravioli (€20.95) which came with a tomato and basil crème sauce, some garlic bread, and a handful of arugula on top. The pasta itself tasted good (jealous of the fish!) but the garlic bread was so crispy (not burnt) that it was almost too hard to chew. The dish would have been fine without the ‘salad garnish’.
The only thing I would point out is that obviously the pub is very busy, and it didn’t look like they had an ample amount of seating, but they must have turned away at least 20-30 people because the back of the pub was closed (due to a large party maybe?) and they just couldn’t find a place for those people to sit. So I guess we got there at just the right time?
Whatever - I would still go back JUST for the fish and chips ❤️

Duck
Dublin
10/10/2024: Pato y cerdo con mejor sabor de la ciudad. No tengo suficiente.
Mordeduras deshuesadas bien vale la pena el costo adicional.
Después de unas pintas este lugar es una necesidad.

Pigeon House
Dublin
16/03/2024: We went for lunch yesterday, its now jade chinese restaurant. There was a set lunch for 13.50, but we were told it doesn't exist. The mains were 13.50, starters were extra. The food wasn't traditional chinese, more Mediterranean, good portion sizes, but very average food, no lasting smells or tastes, would not return. Prices were expensive for lunch.
