23/08/2025: Anytime I get to visit Dalkey, I head to Pepperlaine for the best cappuccino and tasty treat to fuel me up for the day browsing around this lively village. I’m looking forward to popping in over the Lobster festival for my caffeine fix and the chance to pick up a great locally sourced gift for an upcoming birthday while I’m there.

06/06/2026: Finally back in the family after being leased out last year, the pub is now highly recommended again! We were there on Bank Holiday Monday; friendly service, good food, and very fair prices.

31/05/2026: So, how can I put it?! You walk in, and you don't want to leave. You have to paint a picture of the place. A pub lost in the middle of nowhere, cars everywhere, so it's packed. You push open the door, and that's where it all begins. Laughter, conviviality, music. Waiters with smiles... We didn't book... Suspense! Wait a minute... A table is set... We're seated. A simple menu, but it's very good. We order a hamburger with local meat and vegetables, and a pint of beer. We finish with a proper Irish coffee, absolutely delicious. The musicians are really going for it. We connect... Our English isn't quite up to scratch, unfortunately. Time flies by too quickly, we have to leave... tomorrow the road awaits. I promise myself I'll come back someday... I love Ireland, far from the big cities

14/12/2025: Went here for a xmas party and it was honestly really good. Has a good vibe to the place which is nice, all the staff super friendly. We were up the top near a fire and it was amazing felt like we were at home. Decor great. The guy who was singing was really good. The food was okay, I ordered tenders and I just felt they were a bit over done but my colleagues all loved what they got. The chips were amazing and tasty. I would definitely go back.

19/12/2025: Just had a delicious toasted chicken sandwich and coffee at Food Capers. The chicken was fresh and not the horrible package stuff many places do now. Service was efficient and friendly. Will deffo be back!

27/05/2026: We were there yesterday, there was no live music that evening (it was a Tuesday night) and the pub was rather empty. The pub is definitely even better with live music! Nevertheless, we had a wonderful evening and stayed for about five hours. The bartender was very friendly, approachable, always ready with a joke, and told us lots of things and explained a great deal. We also met other tourists, and it was a truly fantastic evening that we will certainly remember forever! Many thanks to the staff! ❤️

17/05/2026: The bartender took my drink order and then set down a Guinness (which is what I ordered) right in front of me. A random man BEHIND me came up to me and said "hey that's mine" to which I responded "oh, sorry, are you sure?" he said"yes". I (as a woman) looked to the bartender (also a woman) and said "Sorry, is this his or mine?" she responded "His"... I think? (it was very very loud in there). I said "sorry what?" to which she responded "It. is. his.", in a very rude and exacerbated tone. I said "Sorry I didn't know, just wanted to confirm" . She continued to patronize me and I again said "I'm sorry it was his, I just wanted to make sure" she rolled her eyes at me and continued to talk down to me, over-explaining how I should know it is someone else's drink when I was shoulder to shoulder with other people at the bar in an atmosphere where I had to yell to the person next to me in order for them to hear me . She continued to say how I should know it was his and I said "How was I supposed to know that?" I apologized to the man behind me and he said "no worries, it's all good" (the bar tender saw all of this). I apologized to him again. Bartender looked at me and said "obviously it's his because I wouldn't make your beer that fast, it has to set first" and then a few seconds later slammed my beer down in front of me.

18/12/2025: Avoid this pub at all costs. The drinks are very expensive, and the beer was completely weak. The burgers, whether you order chicken or beef, both taste equally bad. The toilets were dirty and clogged. Plus, it's very expensive for what they offer. There are much better places in Dublin to enjoy a good pint and decent food. The worst experience I've had as a tourist in the city.

14/12/2025: One of the best resto bars i have been in ireland. Nice ambience and perfect atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and loving. Nice place to enjoy food and drinks with your family. One place I will recommend and I wish to visit again❤️❤️❤️

09/09/2025: Genuine old Irish pub with a lot of local characters. The Guinness was the best I’ve ever had, another level. Soon as you walked in the smell of years gone by. Friendly & intriguing. Sit in the snug.

16/06/2026: O.K. for break to and from Dublin or Cork ,NOT a great variety to choose from.

09/06/2026: Good place to stop in the Midlands. Good selection of eateries and a newsagents. Facilities are always clean.

02/05/2026: Staff were lovely but we were often left waiting for a long time. It took almost 40 minutes for our drinks to come at the start. Food was very nice, especially the starters. They have a cocktail menu but were missing a few ingredients when we were there. It’s quite expensive which I was happy to spend for a celebration but I don’t think the service matched the price.

23/04/2026: 50 euro for a cury and a starter, no drinks or desert. Plus 5 euro service charge. Their set menu is a scam. Food is mediocre

04/05/2026: Lovely atmosphere Great little find, a,quiet street just off Temple Bar. It was very nice, great portion of calamari but other dishes did disappoint. I judge a great tapas by their patatas braves, unfortunately this was not very authentic and very disappointing. Croquettas were lovely though.
